    We felt tricked.

by Tee’s family on 6/27/23New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

This event was not properly advertised. When something is billed as “an evening with Stephen Colbert and Jim Gaffigan “ -two of the funniest men in show biz — my family and I expected a comedy show, not an interview; From the reaction of those around us , we were not the only ones who were mislead. Many left before the show was over. In fairness, the interview was FINE, but certainly NOT something I would have spent over $900. So we were extremely disappointed. I will certainly be much more cautious when making purchases like this in the future, and definitely less trusting of how your site promotes events.

    Disappointed

by Kate on 6/27/23New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

My husband and I paid almost $200 per ticket to see Steve Colbert and Jim Gaffigan. We were promised lots of humor and laughs according to the ad which never materialized. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize that this was a fundraiser and we had to sit through commercials on a big screen, then a couple of boring speakers. Corey Booker was a nice surprise and he introduced Steve Colbert. At first it was ok, basically an interview with a few jokes here and there. But it dragged on and on with even fewer jokes, then horribly boring questions from the audience. We were trapped against a wall and couldn’t escape like many, many others were doing. We drove an hour and a half to see this disappointing show; couldn’t each of these excellent performers done some stand-up in addition to the interview?

    Snooze

by Sleepy girl on 6/27/23New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

Show was advertised as Colbert and Gaffigan talking about current events, instead it was Colbert interviewing Gaffigan about his life. Did not laugh much at all, almost fell asleep in some parts. Interesting if you wanted to know about Jim Gaffigans personal life but I personally would not have purchased tickets if I knew what the show actually was.

by Caryn Starr-Gates on 6/27/23New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

Two comedic and insightful talents sharing conversation and trading barbs . . . with occasional funny commentary from Stephen - what a fun night!

    MFF's Colbert and Craig

by Lisa on 11/2/22New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

Another fantastic evening to benefit Montclair Film Festival. Stephen Colbert always delivers in an enjoyable and entertaining way. Daniel Craig was engaging and seemed to be having fun which translates to great interview. I look forward to these evenings every year and this year did not disappoint! Thank you to Stephen and Daniel for your generosity of time and spirit to benefit the fine organization that the MFF is. Can't wait to see who is lined up for next year!

    An Enjoyable Evening

by Linburt on 11/1/22New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

Wonderful interaction between Colbert. And Craig. Especially liked question about naming 8 people, dead or alive, who Daniel Craig would love to dine with. Craig elicited audience participation to help him with this answer.

    Time flew by!

by E. on 12/12/19New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

Stephen Colbert was his normal charming, self-effacing and authentic self while interacting with Julia Louis-Dryfuss. They were both so funny, and banter so quick and light, yet the interview was deeply personal. As always, NJPAC is comfortable, well-staged, and viewing is terrific from everywhere. I really liked the audience participation at the end: it was brief and focused. My only complaint is that entry into the venue was slow and anxiety-provoking, with 100s of people trying to get through the security funnel while lights were blinking on and off.

    Loved the Conversation!

by Joni on 12/10/19New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

Stephen and Julia were extremely entertaining, funny, and natural in their time together onstage. I could have listened to them even longer! Their talents as comics and ad libbing was so evident. It was a fun evening with a great cause.

    An Awesome Evening

by G. K. on 12/10/19New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

Thoroughly enjoyed the banter between the host & guest. Some very poignant & personal antidotes as well as introspective comments. Glad that it didn’t turn into a political current events conversation.
