Book signing with an expensive, overblown foreward

by Anonymoose on 10/16/19Somerville Theatre - Somerville

It was definitely a conversation between intelligent, skeptical people. It just wasn't handled very intelligently. It was intended to be a free form Q/A which can be lovely, but this went the way of unwieldy ruminations. I'm sure plenty of other viewers spent a substantial portion of their time in their own heads on the subjects presented while they waited for the conversation to get back on track. TLDR: I've experienced better question-driven dialogue on Yahoo answers.

    Richard Dawkins/Max Tegmark

by Chris on 10/16/19Somerville Theatre - Somerville

I really enjoyed the location and the discussion. The Somerville Theater is an old building with old decorative art throughout its interior. From the painting on the ceiling to the elaborate architecture and trimming, I really got the sense of walking into a space that was, in a way, frozen in time. The conversation between the two keynote speakers was refreshing. I would absolutely love to see Richard Dawkins and Max Tegmark again.

Prefer long form talk over random conversation

by Lecture Nerd on 10/16/19Somerville Theatre - Somerville

The format was a bit of an unscripted book review but I have enjoyed many of Dawkins long form lectures much more, because it lets you see more of his wonderful brain. I realize he had laryngitis though the format probably was predetermined.
