Steep Canyon Rangers Tickets

The evening was one of different styles of bluegrass music. River Whyless opened for SCR and they were adequate. SCR then took the stage with members of the Asheville Symphony and they were terrific. I have never seen a musical group that plays long uninterrupted set of several songs with only minimal amount of "chit chat." The members of the band are extremely animated and seem to be thrilled to be performing for their audience. All in all the evening was stupendous.

The show Saturday night in Asheville was amazing. The jamming that Steep Canyon Rangers did kept me bouncing and in wonder. However it was River Whyless that I came to see. I just wish they had gotten to play longer. Their brand of alt music is inspiring. To match them with a great bluegrass standard band was a nice touch because River is so good at doing their own thing. Watching what Halli can do with the violin/fiddle is mesmerizing, and her movement on stage keeps the energy up. I especially like when she plays the violin/fiddle like a guitar. The whole band with their voices blending and unofficial instruments makes them just a fun experience to watch.

The show was fantastic! River Whyless was so awesome, I would love to see them again! Steep Canyons Rangers were fabulous. Every member was unforgettable, especially the amazing fiddle player!! I would love to see both bands in a smaller setting.

SCR group was amazing. I love both of the groups, however River Whyless was under amplified and it was hard to hear some of the vocals.

The SCR played for over two hours at this show. It was phenomenal. One after another they put everything they had into every song. You won’t be disappointed.

Bought these tix months ago for wife's b'day. Opening act was very good, River Whyless. Rangers rocked the house, playing at least 2 hours. The only bad thing, there was an hvac vent blowing directly on us, and very powerful wind was freezing us. Other than that, for a venue that has been in business for decades, experience was great!

The band was tight, the live music much better than their studio recordings. I like their brand of 'bluegrass', using percussion. Members of the Asheville Symphony were a nice touch, although I never did hear any of their contribution. Maybe the sound system? I was sitting front and center behind the sound board. I will definitely see them again, preferably in a better venue. You could hear the HVAC system during quieter songs and it's just too big a venue for this band. Maybe the Thomas Wolfe auditorium?

We have seen the Steep Canyon Rangers many times and they are our absolute favorite band! This was without a doubt the best show we have seen them perform!!

Love love love this band. Excellent artists. The fiddle player makes you want to get up and dance, as well as the other musicians. Would totally see them for the 3rd time with or without Steve Martin.

If you have not seen Steep Canyon Rangers yet then you are missing out on one of the absolute best groups of musicians out there. These guys are incredible! No one person should have as much talent as they do. The fiddle player is hands down the best you are going to find. What a great energetic performance. Thanks again guys for a great show in Knoxville and see you next year!!

Steep Canyon Rangers performs at the Bijou around the same time every January. It always promises to be a great show! These are some of the most talented artists and entertainers in this genre, and in the world of music in general. Love seeing them perform!
