The dialogue was often hard to understand because the words were said so fast and more in rhyme than normal sentences. Would have been nice to have a "closed caption"screen somewhere unobtrusive. I'll have to read Hamilton's biography now!
The costumes and the sets were fabulous The dancers were good However, they changed the original choreography by Petipa And this change the story in fundamental ways That was a disappointment Also, it would be helpful to have a hard copy of the program That would’ve helped me to see who was responsible for the altered choreography
Wonderful Ballet! The beautiful costumes, awesome dancers, and sets were just awesome. The venue, however, was too small for all those dancers they appeared to be squished on the stage but pulled it off with grace. We enjoyed our afternoon at the ballet.
We went for Mother’s Day, my daughter, my mom and I. The show was fun. We felt the ballerinas looked amazing and did a beautiful dance! But we also felt the dances were a bit repetitive. There was also a moment in the show where the lights were turned off for a good 5min or so. We were a bit lost… for a second we thought it was intermission, it was odd…Over all it was fun
Amazing building and history! The event itself was beautiful and the live band made all the difference. An employee there told my cousin and I about some of the history and other events they put on and it sounds amazing! Everyone should experience this venue and a ballet like this in some capacity at least once in their life!
Stunningly strong performance. Excellent costumes. Amazing athletisicm yet graceful. Fun. Colorful innovative costumes.
A good performance by the Ukrainian National Ballet. We enjoyed our time.
This ballet was lovely. The dancers were extremely talented and the costumes were gorgeous. The leaps and lifts were spectacular. My 10 year old daughter’s jaw dropped several times. I had no expectations for this ballet. I bought the tickets because I wanted to support the Ukraine as there country has been so devastated. My granddaughter loves the picture she got with one of the ballerinas. This was a lovely night and performance.
Great show. People helpful to find seats as needed. Fast concession lines. Was a great show by the performers!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed Black Swan by State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine. While neither of us has any training in dance, especially ballet, it was evident to us that the performers have spent many years honing their craft. Their movements appeared fluid, effortless, and precise. The story flowed, was easy to follow, and held our attention. The costumes were impeccable and appropriate, as was the set. The choreography was lovely and interesting but, perhaps, a bit repetitive. All in all, it was a very nice ballet and well presented. We look forward to attending future ballets from State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine.
