The music, dancing and acting are great! We loved the spirit of the cast. You will love seeing this musical. And any event in the Pantages is made more special by the magnificent architecture and art deco design. For a Fun evening, don't miss Some LIke It Hot.
Great dancing, high energy, phenomenal talent and totally fun!
We really enjoyed Some Like it Hot. The singing, dancing, costumes and choreography (especially the act with the doors!) were all amazing. The only negatives I would say were that it was hard to understand the words when the Sugar character was singing. Also, the theater was FREEZING.
I had no idea I would enjoy this show as much as I did! The songs, the energy, the performances, the dance routines, the creativity! This show just blew me away. I literally couldn’t even talk when it was over! There’s something about live theater and this show truly embodies it. There was not one song that was just “eh.” I wanted to jump up and give a standing ovation after each number. We saw it in Durham on the last night at that location. Fortunately, it then went to a neighboring town about 90 minutes away and I saw it again. And I’ll see it again if it ever comes this way!
From the moment the curtain rose, that stage was on fire! Energy was unbelievably good on all levels. The production was amazing as was the message! Bravo to the entire cast and crew. ,
I spent the whole production with a big grin on my face. The actors were fabulous, and the set changes were fun to watch! I loved the changes they made to accommodate a diverse cast into a story set in the 1930s. It added depth that the original lacked, but it maintained the humor and lightheartedness. I would see this again and again!
Amazing talent! Voice and acting was beautiful! Highly recommend seeing it!
DPAC is a fantastic venue and SLIH musical did not disappoint! There was never a dull moment. The cast, actors, music, dancing, and singing were spectacular. We were inspired by the live stage musical at DPAC, and watched the original Some Like It Hot 1959 film at home the following day. The stage musical was far better than the film version. If you have an opportunity to see the current national touring version of the Some Like It Hot musical, do not let it pass you by.
Fabulous production! Great cast. Great choreography. Great music. We, indeed, liked it hot!!
Something was off with the acoustics. Microphones? My husband and I saw this show when it first opened in NYC and I remember laughing frequently. At dpac, we were seated orchestra left maybe ten rows from stage and we missed some dialogue.
Loved the costumes and choreography. The vocals were subpar. Found the woman’s voice who was band leader, very grating and way too loud. Other vocals were ok, but not Broadway special. I would not recommend the play.
The music, vocals and, dancing was incredible. There was a lot of tap and it was a joy to see. All in all a very enjoyable afternoon.
The show was wonderfully sung and danced. My only negative concern was the inter-racial romances, and the actual use of black performers as principal performers, since they did not use them in 1933. I always believe that shows should be historically accurate, and reflect the social conditions of the period where the show is set.
Loved every moment, I adore the film and now I love the show. Both significantly different but the same to love in different ways.
This is an excellent musical. The dancing, including a lot of tap dancing, was just great! The costumes, the scenery, the acting, and singing and dancing were five-star! I can't recommend this show enough. It will leave you with a smile on your face, and dancing out of the threatre!
This is my new FAVORITE SHOW!!! I’ve been to a lot of Broadway shows. I’ve seen some really great ones and I always love a good comedy. I laughed from beginning to end. The story was great. The actors were phenomenal and the tap dancing was spectacular.
This was a very good Broadway show. The Players did a great job at their performance.
The music, dancing, action, costumes were superb. It was a fun production. As with many shows based on an older movie, the story line was a little hokey, but I expected that.
The show was amazing!!! Highlighted the key parts of the original movie with a modern take on culture and diversity!! Music and dance was absolutely mesmerizing, I was moving in my seat the entire show, absolutely captivated!! So grateful I had the opportunity to see this show, highly recommend!!!!!
