It’s hard not to compare the cast of this musical version to the cast of the movie. There’s no comparison but the musical numbers were very good as was the singing and dancing. A very enjoyable night out but if you haven’t seen the movie, do so after seeing the play.
I knew the movie too well and the play hardly compares. Then again Monroe, Lemmon and Curtis are in a different universe than the average actors on the stage. Also had difficulty with the lyrics.
We say it in New York and were thrilled to see it again. How energy and a True Show Stopper. The cast is OUT STANDING!! The singing and the dancing is not to be missed. The crowd was on there feet with cheers and I hated to see it end.
I never watched the movie and didn't really know what to expect. It was wonderful!
We loved it!!! Amazing talent! Would be thrilled to see it again.
The actors did a good job, but this play was a disappointment when compared to the movie. Let's leave it by saying "Some Like It Hot"had a "Hard Act To Follow"!
From the costumes to the set, dancing, and singing, this was a top rate show!!!
Costumes were amazing along with the super talented actors and musicians. We were amazed at how this creative musical was able to follow the original story theme in the 1959 movie. It’s better than the sexist movie, treated women and all individuals on a much more equal status. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening!
This performance was phenomenal! The actors all did amazing, and the energy stayed up the entire performance. I loved Daphne; she is a fantastic message for queer youth and her actor portrayed her perfectly. I plan to attend this musical again when it returns to the Midwest. Truly inspiring!
I love musicals and I also love the move Some Like It Hot, so I had high expectations for this musical. It was good, but I struggled to hear the singers, as the their voices were overpowered by the orchestra. So most of the time I could only guess what they were singing. Also, the venue could be better. We had more expensive tickets in row K, and the seats in that area do not have much rise from row to row. Had to watch the show from behind people's heads. We still had fun though!
The show was amazing. The singing, dancing and music was all top notch. I had no idea what the show was about and love it. However, I was seated in the balcony section 6 row H seat 13 and I did not fit in the seat. I am 5'10 and my knees were jammed into into the back of the seat in front of me. I have seen at least 20 shows at this theater and this has never been a problem. Several other people in my section had the same issue. I sat on the steps for most of the show.
Some Like it Hot continuously delivered great performances, music and dancing all night long. What a pleasure to have this cap off our 40th anniversary celebration. We had great seats, the acting was authentic, the singing was crazy good, and it was such a pleasure to see tap dancing at this kind of level. This upbeat performance kept us dancing in our seats. We loved it and so will you! Go see it, it's well worth the price of the tickets.
This show was energized from start to finish. The dancing was amazing and top notch performances from all the cast made this a great show.
The show was great - singing, choreography and dancing, costumes all outstanding. My only complaint was that background music was often too loud to understand the words of a song. Otherwise enjoyed! Lots of energy!
Fantastic dancing and choreography, lots of fun and laughs!
Excellent musical and very talented cast. All around great entertaining show!
The actor playing Joe/Josephine is too old for the role. His stand-in looks perfect for the part. A very entertaining evening in the theater.
I was so disappointed with this show. It strayed too far from the original movie and I thought the Joe and Gerry pairing looked ridiculous. Frumpy dress costumes for them, bad wig and glasses for Josephine. Terrible accent he put on as well. I was actually bored with the music as it wasn’t nearly as catchy as most other broadway shows. I noticed people around me checking their programs and watches through the show. The end “chase” scene was very well done and Sugar and Sweet Sue were amazing singers. Had a few laughs but overall would not consider this a must see show.
