SOJA IN CONCERT:
Tempestuous weather and turbulent waters are no match for the chill vibes of Virginia-based reggae rockers SOJA. In advance of their ninth studio album, the band will embark on the Calm Before The Storm Spring Tour in early 2014, treating fans throughout the Southeastern US to laid-back sets of their smooth grooves and folk-influenced storytelling.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
The members of SOJA, formerly known as Soldiers of Jah Army, have been playing music together since middle and high school, forming an intimate bond that's immediately evident in their tight playing. Following a self-titled EP in 2000, the band released Peace in a Time of War, their first full-length album, in 2002. Influenced by the politics and musical style of reggae legend Bob Marley, the band struck a chord with fans of roots rock reggae, paving the way for the success of 2006's Get Wiser, which debuted in the Top 10 Reggae Albums on iTunes. The bands mesmerizing live show further bolstered their reputation, resulting in several successful live DVDs. Releasing eight albums in just over ten years, the ever-prolific band thrilled fans with the announcement of a ninth album in 2014.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"This show was phenomenal. The energy was INSANE, even with a smaller crowd. We drove almost 150 miles round trip just to see this show, and it was worth every minute of the monsoon we drove through. "
"The show was awesome! Great performance! If you love reggae music, you have to check them out."
"Seeing SOJA for the first time and I was impressed. All of the band members are very talented and they all jam so well together. Great live band and I definitely look forward to seeing them again!"
I’ve never been to casino ballroom or seen SOJA and the overall experience was amazing! The love that was for SOJA was out of this world!
Kymani and band was phenomenal! We only stayed to hear 2 of SOJA selections but they was ok from what I did hear. I will attend again if they have another reggae night at the seafood fest or anywhere in Brevard county! #LOVED IT
The cost for VIP vs General admission wasn’t worth it. General admission could see and hear just as well as VIP. When entering VIP section we went the right and others to the left; we were standing right next to the others who paid less money. The performance itself was great!
SOJA is a great band with multi talented musicians who truly care about their fans and people in general. They carry the true spirit of musicianship. They are very professional and interact very well with their audience. Their songs are very inspirational and promote love and well being, something lacking in the world today. The only problem with a SOJA concert is the end! I always leave happy, joyous, free and full of love knowing that the universe is for all of us. If you haven't seen this band, I highly recommend going to a show. Until next time SOJA, Reggae Love! Peace and Love to all!
Overall the concert was great. The band sounded amazing and the VIP tickets were worth being that close and not crowded. That being said, the bathroom situation was a little different than I expected based on the description. The general admission porta potties were in better shape, because they had people cleaning and they had more to choose from as well as a place to wash your hands. VIP bathrooms, there were only four, weren't in good shape and there was no lighting or place to wash your hands.
Super talented, diverse, humble! LOVE SOJA!!!! Amazing show!!!
Show was awesome. Great performance and event! They rocked the Space Coast
Soja was an amazing band and the culture room is a great venue cuz it’s small and almost every spot can see the stage - that being said the event was sold out and probably a bit over sold - missed the opening act cuz the line to get in was so long
Itvwas a very nice venue. Had nice bar and smoking area outside. Very modern. Soja did an excellent job and I highly enjoyed the concert.
Soja at House of Blues was great. The venue is quaint and sound was great.
Everyone preformed great. Clear view of the stage. Sound was on point.
It was an amazing show. I definitely recommend them
Love the Fillmore! One of my favorite venues! Seen SOJA here multiple times and it’s always a great show!!
The Filmore in CLT is the best venue to see any show. Seriously not a bad seat anywhere in that place. Soja brought down the house as usual
The venue was perfect, it was not too crowded and you could hear the bands clearly. Every thing was set up so you could easily get to it!
SOJA was pretty good. Nahko & Medicine for the People were unbelievably good! One of the best musical performances I've ever seen!
This show was so great! Had a great time. One of the best shows at the State I've been too.
SOJA is an amazing group and puts on an unforgettable show. I love the clean tone of lead singer but the ability to change it another group member with a gritty Rasta tone.
It was awesome very Energetic I loved their set list and the instrumentals.
Seeing Soja would've been a 5 star experience except for the fact that they posted that the show would start at 9pm and they didn't even come on stage until 10:30. If it would've been a weekend, this wouldn't have mattered as much, however it was a Wednesday and I had to work the next day.
