SOJA IN CONCERT:

Tempestuous weather and turbulent waters are no match for the chill vibes of Virginia-based reggae rockers SOJA. In advance of their ninth studio album, the band will embark on the Calm Before The Storm Spring Tour in early 2014, treating fans throughout the Southeastern US to laid-back sets of their smooth grooves and folk-influenced storytelling.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

The members of SOJA, formerly known as Soldiers of Jah Army, have been playing music together since middle and high school, forming an intimate bond that's immediately evident in their tight playing. Following a self-titled EP in 2000, the band released Peace in a Time of War, their first full-length album, in 2002. Influenced by the politics and musical style of reggae legend Bob Marley, the band struck a chord with fans of roots rock reggae, paving the way for the success of 2006's Get Wiser, which debuted in the Top 10 Reggae Albums on iTunes. The bands mesmerizing live show further bolstered their reputation, resulting in several successful live DVDs. Releasing eight albums in just over ten years, the ever-prolific band thrilled fans with the announcement of a ninth album in 2014.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"This show was phenomenal. The energy was INSANE, even with a smaller crowd. We drove almost 150 miles round trip just to see this show, and it was worth every minute of the monsoon we drove through. "

"The show was awesome! Great performance! If you love reggae music, you have to check them out."

"Seeing SOJA for the first time and I was impressed. All of the band members are very talented and they all jam so well together. Great live band and I definitely look forward to seeing them again!"

Started 1 hour late, 1 hour break :(

by LoveSOJAForever on 1/6/16Revolution Live - Ft Lauderdale

Venue was great. Show started 1 hour late (8:30), then there was a 1 hour break between Collie Buddz and SOJA. I paid to see SOJA, and had anticipated SOJA coming on stage by 9:30 at the latest. They came on at 11pm! I left because it was a Sunday night and I worked the next day. Very disappointing. Seems there was technical difficulties with lighting during Collie Buddz as well.

Artists were great but if you weren't in front you couldn't see the show from anywhere.

SOJA in Revolution Fll. Jan 2016

by escarpin on 1/6/16Revolution Live - Ft Lauderdale

Great concert as usual. Etana's sound was amazing. Her time on stage was tooooo short, I would have loved to hear a little bit more of her good Reagge! Collie Buddz performed a good show, but the sound was terrible, we could barely hear the voices. And SOJA was awesome like always! Thank you guys for a nice concert!!

    Collie Buddz was amazing

by Staceyyyyy on 1/4/16Florida Theatre Jacksonville - Jacksonville

all three bands were awesome but I loved Collie Buddz and the way he interacted with the fans. The venue is a beautiful place but the staff is really rude and not helpful at all.

Great start to the new year

by MrsAmazing on 1/4/16Florida Theatre Jacksonville - Jacksonville

Collie Buddz had so much energy during his performance. He engaged the crowd and put on an amazing opener. SOJA came out strong and didn't disappoint. They played all the songs we were hoping to hear and ended with an unexpected drumline that blew me away. I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend New Years Day 2016. The only reason I rated this 4 stars instead of 5 is because the drinks were incredibly expensive. No one should pay $6 for a Yeungling.

This venue was absolutely fantastic, beautiful theatre and the staff was professional and kind. This was the most fun I've had in a very long time. The acoustics were suburb and the facility was breathtaking.

    Acoustics were poor

by Kindera on 1/4/16Florida Theatre Jacksonville - Jacksonville

We were very disappointed in the sound. We sat in the balcony and could not understand any words or even the song being played.

    SOJA/ Iraition was ok

by laneylane on 11/11/15House of Blues Houston - Houston

I got these tickets for my husband who is a huge fan of Soja and all the other bands but his favorite band in the world is SOJA. anyway the vibes were good but when SOJA hit the stage they were just ok.. I mean we waited for almost 6 hours and Jacob was like fumbling with words and I just got the vibe that they were ready to go not really be there... anyway that was my experience

    Iration killed!!!!!!!

by Reggaeluv on 11/11/15House of Blues Houston - Houston

Amazing amazing and even more amazing. What an outstanding lineup, just missing Rebelution. They all exceeded my expectations. I have missed the last two scheduled Iration shows before this one so I was especially excited to see them for the first time and they did not disappoint. The Green, all I have to say, is way underrated.

    SOJA Solid Performance As Usual

    by jellis20191 on 11/4/15Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

My wife and I have seen at least one SOJA show a year for 8 years and it is always the best concert experience of the year. Thanks SOJA for keeping it real and reminding me how essential the rhythm of reggae is to my life:)

    SOJA at the Hollywood Palladium

    by Rainy78787 on 11/3/15Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

SOJA and J. Boog put on a great show, everything was good with that. I really like the Palladium for it's size and the space is beautiful. This was my second time there but I will not go back....the sound is soooo LOUD that it distorts the music. I love my loud music...but this is to the point of distortion where it took me a few seconds to even figure out what song was playing. Also, they flash these bright white lights straight into the audience too much and my head was so irritated towards the end I could not wait to get out of there. Twice is enough and never again, too bad because it's a nice place! :-(

    What was that?

    by MoreCowbell12 on 11/2/15Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

I have been a SOJA fan for some time now. But for what I paid, I wish I could get my money back. The sound there just sucked. Just plained sucked. The high and low's just didn't mix well at all.

    Soja was Fun!

by JohnnyV69 on 10/19/15Saint Andrews Hall - Detroit

The show SOJA put on was very good. The good, was the band worked hard and put on a very good show. Good musicians. On the bad, the sound was muddy and in my opinion they leaned on the rap a little to hard.

    Awesome show

by Onyx215 on 10/14/15Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton Beach

The show was very much entertaining. All the artists engaged the crowd, sang all of our favorites, and the setting was not too big. Soja, J Boog, and Dustin Thomas were all great and on top of it all realy cool people

Soja was great, environment was awful

by SacajaweaSoul on 3/4/15Masquerade - Atlanta

Soja was awesome as usual. They put on a great show and so did all the opening acts. However it was so packed which usually isn't that big of an issue but the crowd was one of the hardest I've ever been around. Everyone was so rude and that definitely put a damper on the whole night in general.
