Small main stage but decent setup. PLM and Griz killed it! Busta Rymes & afroman= flop. Let's see some better hip hop next year!!
This event was absolutely amazing, the grounds themselves were a little smaller, but when Pretty Lights GRiZ and the PLM Showcase played it was absolutely remarkable. If you missed out, you missed quiet the impressive show.
Wish snowball was in the mountains with sling and re entry to the even like it was the first couple years. Dispite those couple of negatives the even was awesome ad well planed. I think if you had the eve infield make high t wold have are the even way cooler then just in the parking lot. Felt almost like a county fair in the parking lot. The VIP should have had more with it such as. Side stage viewing area for all the stages not just one viewing area for the main stage. Also should have been discounted drinks and/or complementary food for VIP. Also should have included a poster or shirt and/or discount for VIP on merchandise. Also VIP ticket holders should get in to one after parties for free of their choosing each night. This was my 3rd snowball in a row and if it happened again I will keep the tradition going. Great job overall.
When I saw the lineup for snowball, I was ecstatic! So many of my favorite artists right here in Denver!! However, once the set times were announced, there were only like 2 artists per day that I wanted to see. I figured oh well, it will be fun, so I bought the 3 day pass. After all, they were only $150, which is cheap for a music festival. I also knew that in previous years the event was held up in the mountains, and bringing the festival to Denver made a lot of people not want to go. I didn't understand this... Until I was actually there. Although I saved money by not getting a hotel, the vibes of the festival on Friday were weird. Not a lot of people, and you could hear sirens on Colfax during some songs. It just didn't feel intimate like a festival should. Also, the main stage was TINY-- way too small for Pretty Lights!!! On Saturday, the crowd was better and I had more fun, but still something felt off. So off, that I didn't even go on Sunday so I ended up wasting $50. Unless the lineup is killer or stacked on one day, if the event is in Denver again next year, you can probably count me out.
I wish it were in the mountains like last year, but the acts were amazing and it was not freezing. Just am amazing time.
I bought the ticket for my brother for his 27th Birthday. He said it was full of people who were drunk or high on some kind of drug. He really wanted to take his strings to the event and they wouldn't let him take them in. He actually left an hour before the band he wanted to see even finished because he said the people there and the atmosphere ruined it.
it was nice, the music was nice, the lights were nice, the people were nice, everything was really really really nice.
First festival in Denver. Convenient location. Despite being a small venue the sound of each stage was not distorted and did not overlap. Good turnout and lineup. Myself, my wife and her girlfriend all went and had a blast. Highly recommended!
Went to the event with my best friend and didn't realize it was in the car park until we got there, but the sound was deep, lasers mind blowing, exactly what you would expect! There were plenty of porta potties too.
For $70 a ticket, it sucked! I will not be going next year...boo!
I went to snowball with about 9 other people. We were a little saddened to find out how much little room there was to stand for the main stage. I've been to plenty of music festivals similar to snowball and I've never seen a worse set up for a main stage. The VIP tent was way too close to the stage and it caused for many people to have to watch from the sides and that's no way to enjoy something as awesome as snowball. I also wasn't very impressed with the setting. If your gonna say it's at sports authority field then make it that way. We all thought it was going to be inside the stadium and not in the parking lot.. I also noticed that the main stage was clearly not using it's full volume potential. I understand it can mess with the stadiums foundation, but it's on you guys to have it somewhere where that shouldn't be a problem. Overall I still had a great night with my friends but it could of been something truly special if some people would of spent more time on making it like they have in the past.
We happened to be in Denver when this took place, so decided to check it out the Friday night lineup. We enjoyed it a great deal although we were surprised at how intimate it was compared to festivals we’d attended in Chicago, or even Winter Warmer in Madison. The crowd was fun and friendly, though, and the music great, which is what really mattered. Knife Party completely killed it, and was a perfect way to end the night. (The end-time of 11pm was also surprisingly early, but made going an easy decision even if we had things to do the next day.) The concession options were nicer than we expected, the Denver skyline was a neat backdrop to the light shows, and for the spontaneous fire dancing performances which developed after dark.
Great festival layout and extremely friendly staff. Great music but what really made the event great was the overall experience. Can't wait to see how the festival grows.
yep Knife Party kicked it! For my son and me, the best surprise of Friday night was Escort. Fantastic band! Loved Bixel Boys & The Floozies. Hey whats up with Earl Sweatshirt? That was the lowpoint, so much hatred and anger. Why are they so pissed? Not making enough money, or don't they like getting paid to spew crap from the mainstage? Lastly, I know its legal now, but my only complaint was the pervasive stench of pot. I believe recreational is 21+ and my 15 year old was given pro pot propaganda.... Thats simply NOT COOL! That will probably keep me from going again.
