  • Smithereens blow the roof off B.B. Kings

by ledzepfred on 2/2/16B.B. King Blues Club & Grill - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The show started right on time and the band was at its best. The crowd was into it and they played a lot of great material (including the Who's "Acid Queen" and Frees "Alright Now". I wish the show was longer.

  • The Smithereens are the Modern Day Beatles

    by PhilFleming57 on 6/9/15Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

The Smithereens rocked the house at the Howard Theater, in Washington D.C. I have been a huge fan of theirs for 25 years and finally got to see them live. It was worth the trip from Alabama

  • They still rock!

by turtwil on 6/8/15Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Most fun at a concert in many years. These guys sound the same as they did in the 80's!! The best concert venue around - small, great acoustics and waiters to bring drinks!

  • Blew me away!

by katmack on 2/3/15B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The Smithereens sounded amazing! Rocking solid, even some sing alongs! Can't wait to see 'em again!

  • Fun Time!

by chuckinator2000 on 9/2/14The Stone Pony - Asbury ParkRating: 4 out of 5

This was an enjoyable show at a historic club. Tommy Tutone has perhaps the most catchy song ever and the audience ate it up. The Romantics powered through their set and The Smithereens were great! I just wish Pat would lose some weight he looks very unhealthy...

  • Where's Marshall?

by TexPerkins on 9/1/14The Stone Pony - Asbury ParkRating: 2 out of 5

While seeing the Smithereens was a great show -- i purchased tickets at the beginning of the summer to see Marshall Crenshaw. Apparently, Marshall performs "when his schedule permits"? Strange that the initial line-up was not introduced as "Rock of the 80s w The Smithereens, The Romantics, Tommy Tutone and Marshall Crenshaw when his schedule permits"

  • The Smithereens rocked!

    by SoCo1450 on 7/15/14Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs - Wilkes-BarreRating: 4 out of 5

After 34 years the Smithereens still rocked! What a great show! We had a lot of fun chair dancing to some good old rock n roll. Mohegan Sun is a smaller venue with great acoustics and not a bad seat in the house. I would recommend seeing a show here any time.

  • Smithereens ROCK!!!

by musicKINGrockDude on 1/21/14B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The Smithereens are the best 4 piece rock/pop band on the planet. No nonsense. No pretension. Just play your heart out rock and roll and get this.....with MELODY. If you take the Beatles, the WHO, the Kinks, and then add a pinch of Jersey you get the SMITHEREENS.

  • It was so great

by Anonymous on 12/2/13The Stone Pony - Asbury ParkRating: 5 out of 5

We drove from Hamilton Ontario, Canada to see the Smithereens. Brought my mother-in-law with us and she was up dancing with me :) We absolutely LOVE the Smithereens and have driven twice to Norfolk Connecticut to an amazing venue called "Infinity Hall" to see them in the past.

  • Smithereens at their best

by MotoTy on 1/24/13B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The most fun concert I've ever been to. Pat DiNizio and the crew played hard, played long and really had a great time, along with the audience. This is their favorite show of the year and if you like good, honest American rock n' roll then don't miss it when they play B.B. King's place. At DiNizio said, they didn't just want to play the hits. They put together an amazing set that included great songs from their past and some deep tracks, too. Capped it off with the driving guitars of the "Batman" TV show theme song. This was a hard-core Smithereens audience, too, with many singing along, knowing all the lyrics. I came from California to see this show, having been a long-time Smithereens fans (and just coming off another holiday season enjoying their Christmas CD) and it was more than worth it. I hope I get the chance to see them here again.

  • Smithereen really rock!

by GbB3 on 1/21/13B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Finally got a chance to see the Smithereens live. Have loved their straight-ahead rock, energy, and clearly appreciated lyrics since the '80's. The performance was memorable as they played with a high level of energy and engaged the audience throughout a continuous 2-hour set. They have a great stage personality and clearly enjoy performing live - especially with an adoring and loyal crowd. The BB King venue was a great match for the group - more intimate than an outside festival setting, although the latter would allow the audience to dance mor easily.

  • The Smithereens. Love them

by attorney7 on 1/21/13B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

This the 3rd year in a row we have seen the Smithereens at B B Kings. Obviously we love the band. When the bassist and the lead guitarist come out to the crowd and jam is the highlight of the show. Like when they perform The Who songs.

  • Blown away by Smithereens

by njvikefan on 1/21/13B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I've been a fan and a friend of the band's since their earliest days. When Pat originally lived at home, Jim was in Music in a Different Kitchen, Dennis had much better jokes and Mike was, well, 'Mike'. I staged a few live shows from my (fossilized) radio days: 'Barrage from the Garage' (on 'HTG, 106.3) and one particularly lively show, was with The Smithereens at the Court Tavern in New Brunswick. They are still, without question, a: 'mondo frat bash au go-go' with incredible enthusiasm and relentless passion for their craft. Time and time again.

  • Time won't let me...

by MisterThomas on 2/16/12Skagit Valley Casino - BowRating: 4 out of 5

Thank you gentlemen, from a transplanted East Coaster. It was the first time I ever saw this group even though I am originally from the Garden State. Not only were they musically spot on, but every member was clearly enjoying themselves. The talent of each of them was matched by overt and genuine friendliness during the meet and greet. Pat walked in saying "Ah! My people!" and this was the tone set for the whole session.

  • Smithereens are fantastic!

by essgeeman on 2/14/12Skagit Valley Casino Pacific Showroom - BowRating: 5 out of 5

We went to both shows. Each was wonderful with one of the best bands in the land clearly enjoying themselves and playing tight, melodic rock. They obviously love and respect their fans, too. The room was a good one - fairly small with great sound. The place was rocking out! We'd go to see these guys again in a heartbeat!

  • Middle Aged Mayhem

Great Concert, nice venue, very fun. I took my wife to this concert for valentines day. She has always been a fan and I always enjoyed their work so I figured it would be okay, it was a lot more than that. In as few words as possible, They haveen't lost their chops. The new bass player was good but I was stunned by both of the Solos by the Drummer and the Lead Guitarist. They played intricate, powerful solos while making it look as if they were drinking a cold beer in their lawn chairs. the Vocals were also amazing. most bands at 30+ plus years in the business sing in lower registers and still stuggle. These guys rocked.
