Sleater-Kinney on Tour
Sleater-Kinney's The Center Won't Hold is the first new album from the celebrated band since their 2015 album, No Cities To Love, available August 16 on Mom + Pop. After years of legendary collaboration, rock'n'roll giants Carrie Brownstein (guitar/vocals) and Corin Tucker (guitar/vocals) sound bigger and bolder than ever. The new album was produced by Annie Clark (St. Vincent), and hailed by The FADER as "one of the most furious, dynamic records of their career." The New York Times called them "one of rock's most enduring and respected acts" and Rolling Stone gave the record 4 stars and raved, "one of America's greatest bands does battle with modern apathy on thrilling LP."
Sleater-Kinney in Concert
Sleater-Kinney set a new bar for punk's political insight and emotional impact. Now, at the height of their formidable powers, the feminist icons continue to challenge themselves, break all the rules and push boundaries. This new creative chapter in the acclaimed band's musical journey is poised to win over both longtime admirers and new fans alike.
energetic, 23 song show; included new and old hits; SK enjoyed the crowd; we enjoyed them; the crowd was very very well behaved!
We were in the same room with Corin and Carrie. I would have paid just as much to go to a building just to be in the same room with them. The sound in the theatre was great, Carrie flubbed the lyrics only once ;) but the band picked up and went back a few stanzas and most people probably didn't notice; this is worth noting after the concern about Janet departing and bringing in a new drummer. I can enjoy watching any band of skilled musicians of any genre playing live in front of their audience; this show went well beyond that for me.
Seeing Sleater-Kinney at Heights theater was amazing! Not a bad view in the place! Love the history of the theater. Sleater-Kinney put on a great show. I didn’t want it to end!! They played all the favorites and the new album! Love it!
It was a great show, as always, at The Pageant in St. Louis! These ladies rock! Great show!!!
I was a little bummed when Janet Weiss left the group ... right after I bought tickets. But Corin and Carrie still brought it. And they're new band-mates were great. I'd see them again in a heartbeat.
Sleater kinney never disappoint. Combining new music with their classics made for a fun evening. However, whoever the opener was, the worst musical experience I think I have ever had.
Sleater-Kinney rocked with another fabulous show at Rebel. I’ve seen them a few times and they never disappoint. They play long, rocking, fantastic shows. It is amazing seeing these women give their all. I will go see them every time they play!
The Kings Theatre is gorgeous, the staff were good, and the bar service was fine. The stage and lighting design was great. The opening act was huh? Is opera the new punk? Sleater-Kinney, although I have the utmost respect for their musicianship, what they've done for women in rock, was happy to see the show, left us feeling a bit flat. Not like in a bad way, really, just kind of flat.
they put on a great show and it was great to see them invite a local band to open. they also had local organizations with tables set up, which was awesome. love to see that they stay true to their roots while adapting to change and changing some of their style in music over the years. will totally see them again when they tour again.
The show was amazing, but my boyfriend and I were at the mezzanine level, showed up early, and still couldn’t find a window along the rail of the whole floor to see the stage at all. We had to watch the first 3/4 of the show on a grainy television, which was frustrating. One of the stage hands took pity on us and several other people in the same situation and allowed us down to the floor to watch the remainder of the show. Since Sleater-Kinney took two curtain calls for a total of about 30 minutes, we were able to see some of the show. I would suggest to the House of Blues that measures like this are taken much sooner.
Sleater-Kinney gave amazing performance. Decent venue.
The show was kind of boring. The lighting was predictable, the set art was nonsensical, the performance was long, well-rehearsed and unimaginative. A ton of folks left early and there were kids in front of us not paying attention, one was asleep. They sounded great and the supporting musicians were fantastic. The venue is beautiful.
Sleater-Kinney themselves were amazing and perfect. There were a few people in the crowd who clearly had way too much to drink (or something else) and were being unreasonably rowdy/screaming and shoving people to get as close to the front as possible. The people around them were trying to contain it but they just became indignant. The venue could use an improvement on security and being willing to cut people off at the bar
They played everything I wanted to hear, great show great energy
I can’t say enough about how great SK were. Musical, heart-stopping, funny, sexy and unpretentious. As in the Greek myths, they’re goddesses who can pass as human. But Stage AE had decided to ban all bags larger than a purse and leave the policy unannounced except for a footnote on the website. Along with dozens of other concert goers, my partner and I were almost locked out of the show. Only the graciousness of the greeter at the sports bar across the street (she let us check my wife’s bag) kept the night from being a total loss. I’d go just about anywhere to see Sleater Kinney again, but not to Stage AE.
The opening act was soporific. The sound was awful - bass up so high the vocals were unintelligible. And the venue is not really accessible - no seating even at the bar makes it tough for folks w/ mobility issues. Fix that.
5 for the Sleater Kinney and less than zero for the food.
From start to finish Sleater-Kinney set out to bring the house down. They played several tracks form the new album, but also went deep into songs from their entire catalogue. It was one of the most energizing shows I've been to in a while.
Wonderful show. My friends and I loved Sleater-Kinney and The Tabernacle. Wish more great performers ventured into the wilds of the South.
The show was fantastic. Sleater-kinney were absolutely incredible and brought great energy to the show and the staff at the Tabernacle, as always, was friendly and helpful. The merchandise was great and reasonably priced as were the drinks and the overall experience was fantastic.
