About

SISTER ACT is Broadway's feel-amazing musical comedy smash! The New York Post calls it "RIDICULOUSLY FUN," and audiences are jumping to their feet in total agreement! Featuring original music by 8-time Oscar® winner ALAN MENKEN (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Little Shop of Horrors), SISTER ACT tells the story of Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and the cops hide her in the last place anyone would think to look—a convent! Under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own. A sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, SISTER ACT is reason to REJOICE!

  • Better than Broadway

I saw Sister Act on Broadway a few years ago. It was good but the tour is better. Hollis Resnick is a hoot as Mother Superior. Everyone in our party of 5 loved the show. See it.

Really an enjoyable show. Cast is great as is the music and costumes. Scenery perfect. Highly recommend this show for a light enjoyable time at the theater.

The performance itself was great and the singing was excellent, however, the blasphemous dialogue was horrible. I could never recommend this musical because of that.

The play was enjoyable. Nothing fabulous. Just enjoyable. I wasn't bored so that's a good thing. The leading lady had a wonderful voice. But I can't help but wonder, whena lightbulb burns out in the middle of the ceiling, how do you change the light bulb? By the way. A few light bulbs were burned out.

The cast was enormously talented with a contagiously infectious enthusiasm for their individual roles. The play was fun, thought-provoking, and thoroughly enjoyable. We were saddened by the rather small audience; however, were told that the mantinee had more people. If there was any one thing which was a bit of detraction, it was the length of the show due to rather long, and sometimes, pointless in our opinions, songs and dances by the minor characters. The talent was certainly appreciated; however, some of those moments were entirely too long and took away from the substance of the story.

Fun show for the whole family. Slow at times, but the full cast numbers are a blast!

7 attended- 7 thumbs down. None of the music was from the original and it was just very disappointing. Especially when I spent $117 a ticket.

With the shooting of the fellow in the head point blank I do not think this is good for children. That said, the cast were very good and seemed to get into their roles. Sometimes the dancing appeared out of sync but overall very good. All cast had great voices.

  • Great family show!

My 11 year-old niece and I saw the show and loved it! Funny, energetic, and flashy. Solid performances from entire cast, music you can hum, and enough sequins to bedazzle the entire audience.

  • Sister Act a disappointment

    by sdgal2012 on 11/25/12Auditorium Theatre - ChicagoRating: 2 out of 5

The sets and costumes were fantastic, but the talent was lackluster. The best voices were Kingsley Leggs as Curtis and Lael Van Keuren as Mary Robert. I felt the leads were disappointing; not worth the ticket price. Also, this production didn't have a single song from the movie and I think the audience expected to hear at least some of those songs.

What an enjoyable experience! The play starts "small" but builds nicely. It was very entertaining and the cast was great. The music was spot on and very understandable. Really just a fun filled evening!

  • Fun show.

    by Hootkin450 on 11/25/12Auditorium Theatre - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

The show was a lot of fun, and the big numbers were really spectacular. I was surprised how much swearing there was, as I brought my young kids. But it was nothing too vulgar, and everyone enjoyed it thoroughly.

Very well done! The songs are so amazing the way they intertwine with the script. I laughed out loud a lot during this show!!!

The show was top notch, especially for a matinee. I would go again in a heartbeat.
