SISTER ACT is Broadway's feel-amazing musical comedy smash! The New York Post calls it "RIDICULOUSLY FUN," and audiences are jumping to their feet in total agreement! Featuring original music by 8-time Oscar® winner ALAN MENKEN (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Little Shop of Horrors), SISTER ACT tells the story of Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and the cops hide her in the last place anyone would think to look—a convent! Under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own. A sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, SISTER ACT is reason to REJOICE!

Having seen the movie with Whoopie Goldberg many times, I was prepared to enjoy it. I was not prepared for how well it was done. The talent on the stage was excellent across the board. The songs, while not memorable, had clever lyrics. The dancing was minimal, but then the movie was not a 'dancing' movie. All in all, we enjoyed our evening and hope others do to. The theater is too big for it, and was almost half empty. This is unfortunate, given the professionalism and talent on stage. The bright side is that there are discounted tickets available. Also, even with Hottix, we were able to move closer to the stage. Go and enjoy.
my husband took me on fri. night it was an amazing production the talent & humor was great.i highly recommend it .whoever did the casting couldn't have done a better job.
The acting was poor, the story line dragged. We left at intermission.
A phenomenally talented cast make this a stellar production in every respect and do the musical score justice. Sister Act is great fun -- a real feel-good show.
What a wonderful evening of song! Uplifting and entertaining. Set was somewhat sparse (yet the Auditorium Theater stage is likely larger than most).
This was a very fun show, more people should go to see it. The theatre was only half to three quarters full. We expected to hear songs from the movie but the score was really memorable and the lyrics were very funny. Left with a smile on our faces and humming "Take me to heavennnn ....". Good time!
The play was a musical comedy which was uproariously funny! It was a stress reducer, i felt really good after seeing it. The actors were well suited for their roles.
What a great time. Wonderful venue, great performers, just a whole lot of fun.
I really enjoyed the show. It was vivid. The actors were amazing and all had magnificent voices. The customs were great and colourful. It was so funny. The theatre itself was remarkable.
A brief respite from the hectic lives we live. Delightful and entertaining. The music was awesome. I initially had some reservations about seeing it without Whoppie, but I was quickly immersed in the thoroughly enjoyable production. The evening passed much too quickly.
Even though our seats were in the four floor, we thoroughly enjoyed the show from start to finish! The actors did a awesome job with the production. Their voices were excellent!
My wife, mother-in-law and I all thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish! Anyone who does not go to see this production will be missing out on a great night!
I was blown away by the performances, great acting, powerful singers, humor, great music, costumes, and choreography was superb! My sister-in-law saw the performance in New York last year and loved it so much she wanted to come to the Chicago performance. Go to see it if you have a chance you won't be disappointed.
I enjoyed this show very much as the singing was fantastic. There were alot of seasoned Broadway actors in the show. Many were from popular and original shows. I've never been to this theater but it was a great place to see a play. I wish more Broadway shows would come to the Auditorium. The way the seating is arranged and built, I'm sure there's not a bad seat in the house.
Great show . It may have started off a little rocky, with some sound issues, but definitely picked up steam by the end. Very entertaining and familiar - just like the movie!
Great! However the song Maria was not sung and that was upsetting as that was one of the most powerful songs in the movie!
Overall, very entertaining. Some of the songs were a bit slow at the beginning and my companion for the show fell asleep. I was involved the entire time. It was opening night and I'm not sure if the cast and crew worked on the stage before because there were a couple of set malfunctions and long dark pauses. This show could blow the roof and it did for many (standing ovation), but there were some kinks that need to be worked out.
I was hesitant bc I heard they don't sing the same songs as in the movie, and I knew the NYC production was struggling...but this production TURNED IT OUT!! So much fun.
A group of us went for a girlfriends birthday. The musical was very entertaining. The music and singing was top notch. I laughed throughout the show. I would definitely recommend this to all age groups. I am hoping to see it again with my daughter!
