    Sid is for older kids

by Friends444 on 5/12/14Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

I took my grandson to Sid the Science Kid. It started late, and the intermission was way to long. Several parents/grandparents of younger youth left during intermission. My grandson is 4 1/2 years old. He was amazed in the beginning and very attentive, after intermission fidgety. Some of the concepts offered by Ms. Suzie were way over his head, and she was a bit hard to understand at times. The fast delivery in the song did not help as it takes time to comprehend. The two years old's beside us were board.

    Great Show

by Niceey on 5/12/14Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

WE recently went to the Sd the Science KId show this weekend. I took my two boys and boy did they love it. I was really apprehensive about taking them at first since in the past other shows not sid, but other tv character shows I Have heard horrible reviews. WHere people were saying the costumes were worn out and the show was crappy. This show was the complete opposite.. Lots of songs and music for little ones to move around. My two are 3&4 and they loved it. THe show lasted about 1 hr 45 mins (including the 15 min break). IT helped a whole lot that we were right in the middle section and about 7 rows (VIP IS about the first 4 rows) from the stage. They were able to get out their seats and run down at the end to say hi to SID and the crew. THis was just like the TV show but better because we were in person. I would definitely recommend this show. PS. I Never do reviews but this show was worth the review!

I took my 21 month old twins to see Sid. They had a great time while we were there. Show kept them entertained during the entire performance. One of the better live shows I've attended. Would love to go again.

Remarkable Sid the Science Kid Show

    by DSGC31 on 5/6/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Seeing Sid the Science Kid perform live including his friends and teacher amazed my child. It inspired me because of the show's topic. I will not tell you what happened so that you can experience it yourself with whoever you decide to bring. I brought my child's mother and our son. We were both happy that our baby enjoyed seeing the characters in person. I gave the show a four star because although we had decent seats, I do not think Sid the Science Kid had a meet and greet.

    Disappointing Experience All Around

by Anonymous on 5/6/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

The "science" in this show was so basic that it didn't even hold my 5-year-old's attention. The sound was poor and it was difficult to hear the words of the performers. Additionally, the actor playing Teacher Susie was mediocre at best. Wish we would have spent our money on a different show that highlighted a strong story, good acting, and better costumes. Additionally, it was strange that the theater dimmed the lights for an ad and then put the lights back on again instead of moving straight into the performance.

Ok but not what I was expecting

    by Acy1234 on 5/6/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

We brought out 2 1/2 year old twins to see Sid this past Saturday. About 10 minutes into the show, one of my boys was asking to go home. The show was very slow, revolved more around Ms Suzie, and not enough around the actual characters. The characters were more "back-up". There wasn't enough to catch my children's attention. While the show itself was very educational (about the 5 senses), I feel the live performance was geared more towards older children (5 and 6) where the television show is geared more towards younger children. And I want to point out that people were making comments about Ms. Suzie's dance moves being too "sexual". I didn't notice anything of that nature. I think people are trying to make something out of nothing. Overall, we'll be sticking to Sid the television show and save the live performances for Sesame Street.

They put on a great show. My daughter is just under three years old and she loves every minute. I do wish they allowed for a meet and greet with the characters.

    Lacks interaction with Audience "KIDS"

by lizalet on 3/12/14Valley Performing Arts Center - Northridge

"Mommy I like Sid on the TV much better" those are not the words I would hope to hear from my 4 1/2 yr old daughter. I imagined "Sid Live" would be a fun interactive performance. It was about discovering your 5 senses. Nothing memorable about it... I actually enjoy watching it on television more than on stage.Sound was a bit off, At times I could not make out what they were saying. I sat on the 2nd section behind orchestra seats. I was not too far back. There is a lot of singing. There is a mid break in between the performance, which is good for the kids. My suggestion would be the following: Include the audience in your quest to finding the 5 senses! Have a child come on stage, play different funny sounds and have the child guess what the sound is or have a character come down and have some sort of dialog with the audience. Add a bubble machine in your show, cue it in when the music begins and teacher "Susie" sings! (not sure of name spelling) have the bubbles come down kids love this! since there is a whole lot of singing instead of having the audience sit through it all include them, Have them join in, stand, jump, wave arms, This was done once only..towards the end of a song and it was actually the most fun my daughter had. She also liked the confetti at the end, more of that would have been nice. A chance to take a Picture with the Characters would be nice too!

    Appropriate for younger kids

by Eilat on 3/11/14Valley Performing Arts Center - Northridge

My husband I went with our five year old. It was a nice show but he seemed to be too old to enjoy. I think it's intended for a younger audience than that.
