Sid the Sciene Kid: Live! was enjoyed by all!

by Havar on 3/11/14Valley Performing Arts Center - Northridge

We took two grandsons, ages 6 and 3, to this performance. They both loved the show and our seats, the front side row, were perfect! We loved the themed based program, the energy and the interactive approach! The children knew all the characters and had fun answering the questions. The dance break after intermission got the boys on their feet and they certainly had fun dancing! The show kept their attention, made them laugh and made them predict the answers to the questions about the senses. All factors that made such a great show for them and us!

Entertaining exposure to simple science concepts

by Mystfan on 3/11/14Valley Performing Arts Center - Northridge

My grandsons, ages 9 and 5 enjoyed this quite a bit, although I was less enthralled. The staging and characters were well-done. The Valley Performing Arts Center is beautiful and comfortable. It was a good chance to expose the kids to a real theater experience.

The show was amazing for kids to see. Our seats were great. My son had a ball. He wanted to see more. He was so amazed and was very attentive to the whole show. Drinks are very expensive, an example is a soda in a bottle is $5. Also the price for children should not be the same as adult. Many of the children could not see without sitting on a parent's lap. So the children would not be able to sit in there seat.

I was very Disappointed with the Lady (Mrs Susie) as a performer. Whomever Choreographed her moves should be ashamed as this is a CHILDREN'S show. She did way to much grinding and moves of a sexual nature that was NOT necessary at all. I had co-workers who also attended the same show and they agreed as well. Another negative thing about the show was the length of the break half way through. Too Long.

The live performance was highly energized and it was nice how the characters would wave at the kids in the audience throughout the show.

My son and I went and it was just a great time. So much singing and dancing, which we both loved! I would recommend this show for any family with children that love to learn, sing and dance. He is still talking about it and we saw it last week. Really enjoyable and worth your money!

Enjoyable show. Meet and great would have been better if not rushed and more characters available. Some TPAC staff rushed children upsetting them

For True Sid the Science Kid Fans!

by krcurten on 2/18/14Topeka Performing Arts Center - Topeka

The show was good and would recommend to any with kids that are fans of the show. My only complaint was that the volume was WAY too loud! Several times I looked over and my son has his hands over his ears and we were half way back in the theater. It was so ear piercing at times that you couldn't even understand the words they were saying or singing.

Probably the worst show that i have ever seen. My grandaughter got so bored with it. She is 5 years and was ready to leave. We left at intermission.

    Sid was fun

    by mommanurse1 on 2/15/14Victory Theatre - Evansville

We had a great time:-) only recommendation would be to have it in a venue where the kids can go in front and all sit together so that they really feel like the characters are interacting with them.

    Great for kids!

by BAMmomma on 2/11/14Victory Theatre - Evansville

My kids (ages 2 & 4) loved Sid! Even my 7 month old was bouncing to the music. It was formatted very much like the TV show and even had the same songs. My kids couldn't stop grinning. I wish there had been more people there so they'll be sure to bring more shows in the future. And it was a good length- it held their attention and didn't let them get bored and antsy.

    Cute and Educational for Kids!

by Phoenix07 on 1/27/14The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

I took my 3 1/2 year old daughter to see her first show and I chose Sid the Science Kid because she likes the PBS cartoon a lot. Her review was "that was fun"! It follows the basic premise of the cartoon with Sid going to school and learning about science with his friends with help from teacher Susie. Sid and his friends are big costumed characters and teacher Susie is a human with a wig. The show teaches about the five senses with lots of singing by teacher Susie and dancing by Sid and his friends. The kids in the audience seemed to enjoy the show as a whole. There was 45 minutes of show, an intermission and another 45 minutes of the show. The set was okay, no video projector or anything and teacher Susie sang some of the songs twice but my daughter really enjoyed it and a little boy behind us cried because the show was over. Great show for preschool children!

I thought the lesson was good but it was not very entertaining. I feel more songs and dancing are needed. It could also benefit from having better sets and technology updates. The singing leaves more to be desired.

Sid the Science Kid: my 4 year old liked it

by JKSH on 1/27/14The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

My husband and I were less than impressed with the production. The songs were uninteresting, the set design was bare, and the educational content was minimal. However, my 4 year old enjoyed himself and that is what really matters.
