    Very Separate feeling.

by KarmaPolice on 5/23/11Masquerade - Atlanta

In the past I had enjoyed Shpongle shows because the energy always seemed to bring people together. This time I just felt like I was watching a crowd there at a MTV event. It felt like everyone was in their bubbles, and the music was way more house like this time around than the normal Shpongle psychedelic vibe. Maybe its because he's playing in america and he feels like he has to go down to their level of awareness to get through to them, I Idont know. But I did not enjoy it.

    not worth the wait

by shpongleboooooo on 5/23/11Masquerade - Atlanta

Shpongle didn't come to the stage until 1am . The show started at 9pm. He only "pressed play" for about an hour. It was NOT worth a FOUR HOUR WAIT! I was reffered to this group by someone that described Shpongle as "the world opening up in front of your eyes" I was expecting a mind blowing experience and was sorely disappointed. The only visuals were waving hands, blinking eyes and the shpongle face moving around and sticking it's tongue out. Music was great but here was no passion, just the guy w\feathered hat in the top of the machine pressing buttons. He barely even smiled or changed his expression. I wish there was a refund and rewind button for that night. I won't be seeing shpongle again, waste of my time and money. The best thing was some guy in the audience that was wearing a TRON LED suit and the crazy hula hoopers.

There are no words to describe how amazing Shpongle is.

    False advertisement.

by leilameila on 5/20/11Best Buy Theatre - New York, NY

Terrible show. This was advertised as a LIVE Shpongle show. First of all, it certainly was NOT live and secondly, it was only Simon. He simply was playing songs from the CDs! I mean, come on... no headphones? No gear? An elevated stage so that no one can see that you're probably just hitting play? Joke.

    As tall as a Shpongletron!

by threebop on 5/18/11Bluebird Nightclub - Bloomington

What a galactic experience. So vivid and unforgettable. Loud but not obnoxiously loud. Lustrous sounds and euphoric moods! Dancing and fun for all to be had. Random Rab opening it up was good warm-up for the loitering crowd. His music had a wide spectrum of emotions: from dark and introspective to vibrant and out-going. We didn't get the vertical Shpongletron, but some horizontal approximation. There were three talented hula dancers, and I love when the three formed a tantalizing multi-armed imitation of an illustrious diety such as Genesha or Shiva.

    SHPONGLE LAND VIBES

    by dirtyflowerchild on 5/14/11Eagles Club/The Rave/Eagles Ballroom - Milwaukee

Simon, you got some groovy vibes man! The light show show and the hula dancers put it over the top. you haven't been free until you've danced to the euphoric sounds of Shpongle. Only thing that coulda been better was the venue itself - i mean no leaving? com'on.

    Shpongle = Heaven

by ThespianGroupie on 5/12/11The Blue Note - Columbia

I bought tickets to this show as soon as they went for sale and looked forward to it for months. Simon Posford did not disappoint. I was interested to hear what half of Shpongle sounds like live, and he was AMAZING! He teased the crowd with his beats, speeding it up or slowing it down unexpectedly and just generally ROCKING THE BLUE NOTE!!!

    Shpongolese spoken here

by Anonymous on 5/10/11Royale Boston - Boston

Great show, very well played. Mixing beats and tracks of his many songs during the set. (2 hours). The shpongletron is fun to look at and a great way of immersing the crowd into the video/DJing.

SHPONGLE WAS HANDS DOWN THE BEST MOMENT OF MY LIFE

by Anonymous on 5/9/11Royale Boston - Boston

Raja Ram and Simon Postford have been my idols for years now, but actually seeing Simon work his magic right in front of me was mindblowing. The music was electryiflying nobody in the audience could stop moving because the music was so incredible. Their music is on a whole nother level than other musical genres. It evokes so much passion and emotion you are truly transported to another world. it was so great to hear my favorite band live! and to see so many other wonderful people enjoying their immense talent. best day of my life <3

    Shpongle was transcendent

    by bhc88 on 5/8/11Royale Boston - Boston

I had been looking forward to this concert for months and it FAR exceeded my already high expectations. The atmosphere, venue and crowd were amazing, assisted by the lack of alcohol at the venue (Royale lost their liquor license temporarily, so I hear). The sound system was superb, the Shpongletron mesmerizing, and the music cosmic. Random Rab's intro set was also stupendous, leading many in the audience to ask, "who is this guy?" Once Simon Posford waved out to the throbbing crowd from 30 feet up in his spaceship, it was on. LED-lit, masked dancers flowed in front of projected fractal kaleidoscopes on the Shpongletron. Sweaty, swaying and flawless, Simon's performance ran the gamut of his work, including some pieces from his other group, Younger Brother. Overall, the best concert experience of my life. I'll snap up a ticket next time Shpongle comes around.

    Everyone go see the shpongletron

by Bigbrady on 5/8/11Royale Boston - Boston

Shpongle absolutely blew my little mind. The music was so tight and there definitely isn't a better visualizer out there. The craziest light show ever, such a sick event. I'd recommend it to anybody that enjoys life.

    Shponglization Complete

by Dexslab on 5/8/11Royale Boston - Boston

This event was nothing short of awesome. The stage setup was excellent, the energy was perfect, and Simon had a great stage presence! He played an eclectic mix of tracks, old and new, with seamless transitions. I would highly recommend this show!

    Shpongletron expanded my mind.

    by p3hndrx on 5/7/11Royale Boston - Boston

Are you kidding me? the special effects, visuals, art installation, the music, sound quality, everything.... spectacular. it was absolutely amazing, actually... quite possibly, the most intense visual/auditory experience you can possibly have. People dancing the WHOLE TIME. It was absolutely phenomenal.

    Amazing, but not live

by owldiscourse on 5/7/11Royale Boston - Boston

Love shpongle to pieces, this show was amazing, the Shpongletron is riveting. The only issue this was more of a DJ set. I thought I was going to see what is on the DVD - a band playing.

    PLEASE come back!

by Wooooooowwww on 5/7/11Royale Boston - Boston

An absolutely mind-boggling performance. When he first started playing, euphoric chills ran through my body. The venue didn't serve alcohol, which I thought was awesome-- no drunk people stumbling about. Everyone was there to dance and have a good time.

    Decent music, frustrating doorman

by Saucalot on 5/3/11Best Buy Theater - New York

Everyone said Shpongle is an unforgettable, life changing event. I thought his music was pretty generic electronic, which I enjoy, but didn't find to be mind blowing. The Shpongletron was AWESOME but not enough to carry the show. The crowd was refreshingly cool for being a younger audience. The venue was awesome, though I saw some of the bartenders get treated pretty poorly. I tipped them well to try to make up for some of the rudeness. The guy that stamps people going out for cigarettes didn't stamp me then accused me of sneaking in when I tried to rejoin the show. Luckily, the other guy who was watching the stair recognized me. That put me in a poor mood and I left shortly after that.

Hunter S. Thompson and Phish would be proud

by beacoupfish on 5/3/11Best Buy Theater - New York

What a crowd...what a show...ULTRA MADNESS. I walked about the theater trying to make my rassodocks what to do with the evening. there were demon trumpets and devil trombones floating about. the devotchkas and the malchicks walked about in trances, in separate worlds colliding. i walked about in my Clockwork Orange shirt, surveying the crowd. These were good ol' boys out to have an evening of intense amazement. Shpongle was an amazing set, from the stage to the dancers to the late midnight start. But Hallucinogen was off the charts, unbelievable, once in a lifetime like experience. After seeing Underworld, Massive Attack, Kruder and Dorfmeister and many other greats, I can clearly say this ranks up there as one of the best shows you may ever see. Even more importantly, Phish would be proud of the eclectic and downright cool crowd that showed up. Buy the ticket, take the ride and don't take any guff from these swine.

    Superb visuals/ sucky audio

by happyhuman on 5/3/11Best Buy Theater - New York

This was my first Shpongle experience. The visual aspect of the show as expected was outstanding, but the audio could be much better, in fact it was plain horrible. It was too loud, too bassy, all the detail of the middle section was completely lost and hissing highs. Beautiful flute, string instruments, fidelity of vocals - all gone, all turned into a mushy booming and hissing. I mean I understand that there were no live instruments, Simon was pretty much DJing his own tracks for a dance crowd, but even so, the acoustics was bad. I don't know if its the fault of Best Buy theater, or Shpongle, but I left in the middle of the show, disappointed...
