Shin Lim on Tour
Catching Shin Lim in the act is unlike watching any other magician perform. Instead of making people disappear or sawing them in half, he simply concentrates on card tricks. But he raises the level of his sleight of hand with a deck of cards to a fine art.
There's drama, music, and a kind of a ballet to Lim's magic. And he's known for performing his illusions without uttering a word, letting his hands and his cards do all the talking while his carefully curated music — Lim started out as a musician — tickles the audience's ears. If you've seen him in one of his many television appearances, be it Penn & Teller: Fool Us, America's Got Talent, or Jimmy Kimmel Live, then you've experienced only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to a Shin Lim live performance.
Shin Lim Background
Born in Vancouver to Singaporean parents and raised in Massachusetts, Shin Lim had two passions in his youth: music and magic. He was studying music in college when he learned that he was suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome. This discovery caused him to abandon playing the piano in favor of becoming a professional magician.
He got one of his first big breaks when he was given the chance to tour in China. Since he didn't speak the language, he kept silent during his tricks, and that practice became a signature of his shows. Bringing a bold, unprecedented artistry to the realm of card tricks, Lim really began to hit it big when he worked his magic on TV's Penn & Teller: Fool Us in 2015. The performance became a social media sensation that elevated his profile dramatically. Since then, he's frequently appeared on TV, twice becoming a winner on America's Got Talent. And he tours widely, taking his illusions everywhere from Las Vegas to Broadway.
Very entertaining- funny, amazing and literally a magical experience
Shin Lim is great!! We were very disappointed however that Collin Cloud did at least half of the show. This wS not indicated when we got the tickets. Then when we saw poster it said with guest Collin Cloud so we thought hed open the show..not..he did half of the show . We were not happy with that!!
The things they did were amazing. I still don’t know how those things were done.
Shin Lim is amazing at what he does however we think Colin stole the show. Colin was super funny & he had superb stage presence!! We loved how he interacted so well with the audience too! Overall these two make a great show!! I would definitely recommend you add it to your itinerary!! Enjoy!
Being in person is a different experience to watching it on the TV screen.
We thoroughly enjoyed the show featuring Shin Lim and Colin Cloud. It was amazing, entertaining and funny. Would highly recommend this show.
My wife loves AGT so when we heard Shim Lin had a show in Vegas we went. Not going to lie the first part of the show sucked. When Shim started playing the piano I was like what the heck did I just get us into... Shim I love you bro but you need to work on your story telling skills. Colin Cloud was awesome and hilarious. I told my wife I thought the side act was the star of the show. The show did get better as it went on. They need to rethink how they start the show though. It was very uninteresting.
We enjoyed both magicians and they complimented each other with totally different style of magic!
Really nice show, Shin was very personable on stage as well as when he walked into the audience doing tricks. Also on stage with him was Colin Cloud who did some cool things. Both performers traded off and on doing their thing so you never got bored with the show. For sure I would recommend it and chances are I'll see again as am a Local Vegan.
Shin Lim and Colin put together a very strong show with excellent audience interaction, a natural flow, and impressive tricks. I was worried that the close up hand magic Shin Lim performs may get missed but the camera angles were well executed. It is definitely up there as one of my new favorite acts in Vegas and continues a growing trend of more contemporary acts that appeal to this growing audience. Must see at a good price point.
We enjoyed the show with Shin Lim and Colin Cloud. I would not seat on the left side of the stage. The best seats are in the center. We sat in the 5 row, on the left side of the stage and we had to look up and look at the screen. Center stage you don't have to look at the screen, you have a great view of the stage. If you enjoy magic and mind reading this is the show to attend.
Great show. Colin and Shin Lim were fantastic. They were entertaining, funny and professional. They engaged the whole audience in their act. One of the best shows we have ever seen. They were fabulous.
Shin Lim was amazing as usual. Seeing him in person was perfect. Colin was the opening act but to me should have his own show. The readings he did of people in the audience was Wow!
Definitely a highlight of my trip to Vegas. His show was fascinating, interactive, and mind-blowing. Highly recommend.
Shin Lim was truly an amazing show! He's one of the best illusionists I've ever seen. We thouroughly enjoyed the show! Also his partner was incredible with reading minds!!!
Definitely one of the greatest shows ever! I was in awe the entire time and the show definitely kept me wanting more! If you've ever watched Shin Lim on America's Got Talent, you'll understand what I mean. Shin Lim is AMAZING and he does it with such perfection! The show "Limitless" was great as it featured two great magicians... Shin Lim and Colin Cloud. The two put on a memorable and amazing show that I could watch over and over! If you're even thinking of going... DO IT!!! You won't regret it.
Fast paced, entertaining and funny show with guest (mentalist?) Colin Cloud. Tricks were awesome, close up camera let’s you see everything and still not figure it out.
Hi there, Camera and spotlight focus was off at Friday night's show (01/24/2020). Camera was out-of-focus. Sound system was distorted at times. Otherwise, the show was awesome!
Seeing him in person did not take away any of the mystery of seeing him online. More comedy than I expected as well, and the show was enjoyable!
Shin Lim and Colin Cloud were both outstanding. I enjoyed how each of them got the audience to participate in the magic! I kept saying WOW during the whole performance.
