Shin Lim on Tour
Catching Shin Lim in the act is unlike watching any other magician perform. Instead of making people disappear or sawing them in half, he simply concentrates on card tricks. But he raises the level of his sleight of hand with a deck of cards to a fine art.Â
There's drama, music, and a kind of a ballet to Lim's magic. And he's known for performing his illusions without uttering a word, letting his hands and his cards do all the talking while his carefully curated music â Lim started out as a musician â tickles the audience's ears. If you've seen him in one of his many television appearances, be it Penn & Teller: Fool Us, America's Got Talent, or Jimmy Kimmel Live, then you've experienced only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to a Shin Lim live performance.
Shin Lim Background
Born in Vancouver to Singaporean parents and raised in Massachusetts, Shin Lim had two passions in his youth: music and magic. He was studying music in college when he learned that he was suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome. This discovery caused him to abandon playing the piano in favor of becoming a professional magician.Â
He got one of his first big breaks when he was given the chance to tour in China. Since he didn't speak the language, he kept silent during his tricks, and that practice became a signature of his shows. Bringing a bold, unprecedented artistry to the realm of card tricks, Lim really began to hit it big when he worked his magic on TV's Penn & Teller: Fool Us in 2015. The performance became a social media sensation that elevated his profile dramatically. Since then, he's frequently appeared on TV, twice becoming a winner on America's Got Talent. And he tours widely, taking his illusions everywhere from Las Vegas to Broadway.
This show was amazing. Colin was equally as good as Shin Lin. This is a must see. Will be going back.
Liked the theater. Felt cozy and intimate. Sat in the last row. Didn't feel I missed anything. Several large screen displays. Shin Lim is a great performer. Colin Cloud added a humourous touch. Highly recommend.
Great show, seats were great and comfy. I love how Colin (Mentalist) is part of the show and the stories told. Gives more insight to the long hard sacrifice to make it to the top and SHIN LIM is the TOP
What a fantastic show! I was in awe from start to finish. It was very refreshing and engaging that Collin Cloud was there as well as he was hilarious and did different magic. All in all I strongly think everyone should see this show.
Amazing sleight of hands! Very entertaining and fun for everyone
Amazing slight of hands skills!! Very entertaining , could have watched more and his side kick was just as goodđ
We had big expectations and they were more than met. Colin was the perfect match to Shin. Shin was amazing. Timing and music were excellent. Really enjoyed how he walked through his life. Highly recommended!!!
We watched Shin Lim on AGT and wondered if he could actually carry an entire show just with slight of hand and card magic. Well he can and does! He teamed up with Colin Cloud, another AGT alumni and the show was funny, magical and face paced. Shin Lim has a humbled personality and sometimes comes off awkward and shy, but that makes him endearing. He is also a quick wit, caught off guard by some audience comments, he rebounds will funny remarks and wins over the audience easily. I thought big screen display of his card magic would seem more TV like, but being in the theater in person really doesn't compare. Colin Cloud keeps the show running throughout, he's a true entertainer and amazing in his own right. One of the best shows in Vegas.
Awesome show. One of the best I've seen. Would see it again.
Seeing this live was amazing! It was a magical experience that I will never forgot. I'd love to see this again.
I fell in love with Shin Lim's magic from the first moment I saw him perform on AGT. What a mind blowing experience to see him live!!! Seeing Colin Cloud at this show was an extra bonus as well. Magic is real!!
Excellent show. Colin Cloud did not miss a beat as the MC and voice of the show. Lots of audience participation, mentalist tricks, and humor to boot. Shin Lim was amazing. Unexplainably amazing. Together this was one of the most enjoyable shows that I have seen (and I speak for the others in my group as well).
Of course we were expecting Shin Lim to be great and he was! We had a great time watching him but didnât expect Colin Cloud having done no research beforehand. It was a great duo and my experience was that much more enjoyable because of a couple of skits by Colin! Great performances all around.
Shin Lim and Colin Cloud put on a great show. It blows your mind to see what they do right in front of your eyes. This is a must see for anyone who loves magic.
Really enjoyed Shin Lim. He was engaging and his magic (sleight of hand) is off the charts entertaining. It is a great contrast with Colin Cloud who I didn't know to expect as an opener-partner to the show, and was a pleasant surprise. The contrast in their styles and act makes for one of my favorite magic shows ever. Don't Miss!!!
2 hours of non stop entertainment other then 20 minute recess Parking structure convenient and affordable Well run show!
First of all, we were surprised that the show was a combination of Colin Cloud and Shin Lim. Second was that we have seen most if not all of Shin's acts before, either on TV or at other magician's show. We saw the first audience participation card trick at a Penn and Teller show, and the rest of his acts we saw on TV. The show was still good and entertaining, but we were hoping for more Shin and acts we haven't seen before.
The best show I have ever seen! I cant remember when I have had a better time.
We paid to see Shin Lin. We understand that there is likely to be an opening act but, when the opening act opens the show, makes numerous appearances throughout the show, and spends more time on stage than the person you paid to see, you feel let down. Donât get me wrong, Colin Cloud is extremely talented, but I didnât pay to see him. The show has a 2-hour run time with a 20-minute intermission, and Cloud performed more than half of the show time. When Shin Lim was on stage, he spent most of his time playing the piano and sharing stories about his life. Donât get us wrong, Shin Lim is A-MA-ZING, but we expected to see a lot more than we had already seen on AGT. We had a great time, but our expectations far exceeded what we saw.
We have marveled at Shin Lim on both Penn & Teller's Fool Us and America's Got Talent. Seeing him in person was just as amazing. His dexterity and showmanship are top notch. We also enjoyed seeing Colin Cloud; he is quite entertaining and fascinating to watch.
