Shin Lim on Tour
Catching Shin Lim in the act is unlike watching any other magician perform. Instead of making people disappear or sawing them in half, he simply concentrates on card tricks. But he raises the level of his sleight of hand with a deck of cards to a fine art.
There's drama, music, and a kind of a ballet to Lim's magic. And he's known for performing his illusions without uttering a word, letting his hands and his cards do all the talking while his carefully curated music — Lim started out as a musician — tickles the audience's ears. If you've seen him in one of his many television appearances, be it Penn & Teller: Fool Us, America's Got Talent, or Jimmy Kimmel Live, then you've experienced only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to a Shin Lim live performance.
Shin Lim Background
Born in Vancouver to Singaporean parents and raised in Massachusetts, Shin Lim had two passions in his youth: music and magic. He was studying music in college when he learned that he was suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome. This discovery caused him to abandon playing the piano in favor of becoming a professional magician.
He got one of his first big breaks when he was given the chance to tour in China. Since he didn't speak the language, he kept silent during his tricks, and that practice became a signature of his shows. Bringing a bold, unprecedented artistry to the realm of card tricks, Lim really began to hit it big when he worked his magic on TV's Penn & Teller: Fool Us in 2015. The performance became a social media sensation that elevated his profile dramatically. Since then, he's frequently appeared on TV, twice becoming a winner on America's Got Talent. And he tours widely, taking his illusions everywhere from Las Vegas to Broadway.
The three of us that attended ABSOLUTELY LOVED this show. Shin Lin and Colin Cloud kept the show moving forward. It was interesting and the card tricks are TOTALLY AMAZING! It will be something we will talk about for quite some time.
This show is so interactive and fun and amazingly WOW I would definitely see this again ...even Sherlock if he had his own show
The card tricks blow you away. Maybe less shocking than Copperfield making a car disappear, but there is just no way to do what Shin does. It’s impossible. An amazing show.
Fantastic show with Shin Lim and Collin Cloud. They are both very impressive magicians. One with cards, the other with mental magic. The performances by both were flawless-they BOTH received several standing ovations through the show. An amazing night out at the theatre.

Shin Lim was focused and amazing. He nailed every trick and made us believers… The addition of Colin Cloud was a pleasant surprise and really added to the overall experience. The show was a complete success. We were drawn in with suspense and relieved by comedy. 5 Star show… Thank you Shin Lim, Colin Cloud, and all involved!
This was one of the best shows I have seen. If you liked Shim Lim on AGT, you are going to LOVE him in person. Also Colin Cloud was an unexpected treat! He, too, was so great on stage. I absolutely can't wrap my mind around the things they do. But I really don't want to know! It was sheer incredulous joy the whole evening!
We were totally amazed with the show!! We enjoyed both performers, as their acts complimented each other as they moved on to another segment. I am sure that everone who attended will agree with us. Great price, great show, a must see for everyone!!
We had enjoyed Shin Lim on America's Got Talent, but not too exciting for an hour + show. Fortunately, his co-performer, Colin ____, provided some much needed humor and equally interesting magic. Combined, we enjoyed them.

This was a phenomenal show!!! The crowd interaction was more than I expected, and both Shin and Colin were fantastic at drawing you in and keeping it exciting!! The ease with which Shin performs incredibly difficult slight of hand is absolutely insane. It kind of breaks your brain while watching it, it's like a symphony in magic. Colin brings in some excellent improv and I have absolutely no idea how he manages to get his tricks to work either, it's definitely two masters at work and bringing great balance to each other!
Shin Lim is one of the greatest living magicians today. Very possibly the world's top talent when it comes to close-up magic, especially. It must be utterly magical to see him work the way his talent was meant to be enjoyed and appreciated... up close. Sadly, that isn't really achievable in a modern, large audience venue. So -- as with many popular entertainments that are very small but enjoyed by all -- we must rely on things like cameras, screens, and other audiovisual aids in an auditorium. Unfortunately, the Limitless show at the Mirage is very hampered by an array of A/V challenges that diminish the overall impact. The large screens for audience viewing aren't honestly all that large. And, what's worse, they have a harsh LED pixelation that snaps folk out of reality and makes them very aware they're watching a screen. Also, while the microphones broadcast the performers' voices in perfect realtime clarity, the large display has a small but very perceptible display lag, making the viewer almost wonder if -- at times -- they are watching a prior recording which is being very carefully (but not perfectly) mimicked by the talent on the stage. (The microphones are also somewhat hot at times, adding a jarring edgy clipping to the sound in the theater) So, yes... while the show was clearly well-designed and amazingly, meticulously rehearsed... the only audience members who really can appreciate the tricks are those in the first two or three rows, perhaps. Everyone else would do better to enjoy the footage from America's Got Talent and Penn & Teller's Fool Us which has been captured with far higher production values and is freely available on the internet.
