Shin Lim on Tour
Catching Shin Lim in the act is unlike watching any other magician perform. Instead of making people disappear or sawing them in half, he simply concentrates on card tricks. But he raises the level of his sleight of hand with a deck of cards to a fine art.
There's drama, music, and a kind of a ballet to Lim's magic. And he's known for performing his illusions without uttering a word, letting his hands and his cards do all the talking while his carefully curated music — Lim started out as a musician — tickles the audience's ears. If you've seen him in one of his many television appearances, be it Penn & Teller: Fool Us, America's Got Talent, or Jimmy Kimmel Live, then you've experienced only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to a Shin Lim live performance.
Shin Lim Background
Born in Vancouver to Singaporean parents and raised in Massachusetts, Shin Lim had two passions in his youth: music and magic. He was studying music in college when he learned that he was suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome. This discovery caused him to abandon playing the piano in favor of becoming a professional magician.
He got one of his first big breaks when he was given the chance to tour in China. Since he didn't speak the language, he kept silent during his tricks, and that practice became a signature of his shows. Bringing a bold, unprecedented artistry to the realm of card tricks, Lim really began to hit it big when he worked his magic on TV's Penn & Teller: Fool Us in 2015. The performance became a social media sensation that elevated his profile dramatically. Since then, he's frequently appeared on TV, twice becoming a winner on America's Got Talent. And he tours widely, taking his illusions everywhere from Las Vegas to Broadway.
What an awesome show. By far the best of all three cirque du Soleil we saw.
At age 71, I’ve seen a lot of magic. Shim Line’s card show is the most amazing thing I’ve ever experienced. I was literally gasping at times! Truly the best card magic ever!
This show was incredible and worth every $! From AGT to Vegas, Shin Lim and his co-star did not disappoint! The presentation was amazing and left the audience stunned and captivated throughout the show. They even get the audience involved which is the best part! Highly recommend to all!!
Shin Lim and a great support act from another AGT Colin Cloud Main issue with this show is that Shin Lim is so fast and good slight of hand he doesn't pause enough for the audience to appreciate what he just did. His personality is awkward at best and he needs a better script writer Colin Cloud was obvious, loud, funny and his magic was cool and unexpected. Saved the show overall. Bit of a plant in the audience for his final hypnosis trick and receipt, but other than that he was very good This needs to be a more intimate crowd for this kind of close up magic.
Amazing show! We were totally blown away by how fast Shin performed all his tricks. Especially the final act, where Shin and Colin swapped places in split seconds! Colin was really good and funny too! Will definitely bring family and friends to this show, highly recommended!
I had a high expectation based on the reviews I’ve read. The show was amazing; much more than I anticipated. The magic tricks themselves were outstanding, and the music and story made it even better. I’ve seen other magic shows previously in Las Vegas but Shin Lim was by far the best. Highly recommended.
This show was fantastic, well done I will highly recommend this to all who come .
Shin Lim's acts alone was worth the price of entry. Colin Cloud's mentalism tricks and his quick witted ability to interact with the audience in engaging ways was icing on the cake. This is the best show in Vegas.
The show was amazing & we thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
Shin Lim has a dynamic show of magic. The show has a little bit of everything but he is amazing at the card tricks. Colin does amazing mind reading acts and adds humor to the show. Loved it.
Lim is Limitless. shin is Amazshing. Get ready to be entertained. Colin is OK too. More funny than magician or mentalist. He gets a little sparky. But the show is all the magician who will dazzle u with several close up magic and an ending that is truly remarkable. My daughter was even part of the show.
My daughter’s first magic show and it didn’t disappoint. Shin Lin and Colin Cloud were great!!!
Great show for all ages. It will blow your mind! You will leave wondering... how did they do it? Collin Cloud was great too!
Great show, good entertainment Get the cameras to the ceiling, the back of the cameraman and Shin Lim hidden by him was not so cool and the screens left/right of the stage should be bigger for this
Solid entertainment. Both performers were outstanding. Lots of surprises. The 90 minute show flew by. Not really a fan of illusionists but these guys are solid performers. 100% recommend this show. %100 worth the price of admission.
Fantastic show.. because of the gigantic screens, there really isn’t a bad seat. Maybe avoid the far sides of the theater. Seriously this show is top notch!! Shin Lin and Collin Cloud put on a wonderful show!
It was magic. His was beautiful and we do a somethin with the cards
Highly recommended! Such a funny and great show! Love it! He’s super talented and love his determination to pursue his dream.
Terrific show by both the host Shin Lim and the narrator magician. Great personalities, humor and card tricks. Loved it.
Absolutely amazing. I have never witnessed anything like it before. Very entertaining and well worth the ticket price. Wanted to go back and see it again, just to catch anything different from the show that I witnessed. Definitely would recommend anyone going to Vegas to not miss this show.
