Shen Yun Performing Arts is a triumph of collaboration, bringing together over a hundred of the world's foremost classically trained Chinese dancers, choreographers, musicians, and vocalists. It also boasts the world's only full orchestra that embraces both Western and Chinese instruments as its permanent members.
Based in New York, Shen Yun Performing Arts is distinguished by its conscious effort to remain independent of China's communist regime, which has abused and impoverished the arts for decades. Shen Yun was excellent! All the choreography was beautiful. The dancers' movements were beautifully orchestrated. I know part of their performance is to introduce people to their religion, but I did not feel that it was overwhelming or that they were being pushy.
The innovative backdrop was ingenious. The colors were vibrant and the dancers were wonderful. All in all, the performance as a whole was spectacular, a must see.
First time seeing this event. I have seen a lot of advertising about this event over the years. Finally bought a ticket to see what it's about. Completely blown away!! It's a wonderful, stunning elegance of a show. I highly recommend to see this event. Absolutely love this. I would definitely buy again.
Overall the quality of the dance and costumes was on point. Too similar to previous years. Some of the costume inspired dances, like the long sleeves of orange, was utilized in the tour that last came through Savannah. Many similar dances throughout, changing a prop or costume doesn’t make the dance different.
The most beautiful show Ive ever seen! Not the best story but the most beautiful for sure!!
This was bizarrely fascinating and simultaneously really boring -- the "dancing"was repetitive motion puncuated by repetitive party tricks (look at me raise my leg so high, look at me do back flips across the stage, look at me twirl repeatedly). And the propaganda and strange backdrop screen didn't help, not to mention the over-the-top and offensive religious messaging (in fact, made me laugh at times). This was a truly strange experience, and not in a good way.
The costumes were beautiful and the effects were amazing. I’m glad I went!!
Shen Yun gives a beautiful glimpse into traditional Chinese dance. The choreography, costumes and colours are amazing! My only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the ushers. They kept coming down the aisle and talking throughout the entire show. Other than the ushers distracting from the performance, Shen Yun is a beautiful and memorable event!

I thought this show was great. I really enjoyed myself, and so did My Granddaughter. It was a show to remember. I gave this show a four star because know when I go again next year, it would be even better.
Very lovely show ! Fantastic acrobatics, ballet like dancing. Wonderful costumes . I highly recommend thus program .

This was a wonderful experience that my husband and I both enjoyed very much! Very interesting to learn about the old Chinese culture and that they are not allowed to practice it anymore in their own country. I loved the solos included in addition to the dancing pieces. My husband loved the digitized background and how real characters jumped up onto to stage after dropping off the digital screne.
It’s refreshing for the soul! Beautiful show forever lasting memories.
I was really sold with the videos online of the commercials. Wasn’t like it looked and not worth the price
Totally enjoyed the show. Beautiful dancers with a touch of exoticism. Each different story reflected a different flavor of Asia. The pinafore accompanied with violin was moving and lovely.
There was very high expectations for this show due to the fact that we had been trying to see one for a few years now. Added to the fact that it was a 2 hour drive to where they were performing the closest to my location. We were underwhelmed by the production as a whole. The on stage visuals were amazing. There was not enough ensemble dance choreography like I we would have desired. The story elements didn’t pack the “wow” factor like we were hoping.
