About

Shen Yun Performing Arts is a triumph of collaboration, bringing together over a hundred of the world's foremost classically trained Chinese dancers, choreographers, musicians, and vocalists. It also boasts the world's only full orchestra that embraces both Western and Chinese instruments as its permanent members.

Based in New York, Shen Yun Performing Arts is distinguished by its conscious effort to remain independent of China's communist regime, which has abused and impoverished the arts for decades. It is proud to thus include members who practice Falun Gong. The company aspires to create original performances that not only entertain, but also more deeply educate, enrich, and inspire. The company's rich repertory is drawn from the pages of history, universal themes, and the world around us. All choreography and music performed are original.

Amazing night of beautiful dancing. Storyline told of events before each amazing scene. Music and singing with special performers. Colorful robes and costumes flowing across the stage in harmony. Truly eloquent. Spectacularly skilled acrobatics . Wonderful classical experience.

  • Wonderful dancing

We enjoyed the show but it did not live up to the hype (way too much advertising).

  • Shen Yun

by NancyS on 3/5/24Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - BoiseRating: 4 out of 5

I found it interesting, but also confusing. There was no direct story line to follow. I appreciated the narration before each dance. I do believe it's an important massage that is being represented. I'm glad I went. Even though the show completely changes each year I don't believe I would go again, or I would wait a few years before I would see it again.

  • Colorful

by Danny on 3/5/24Stifel Theatre - St. LouisRating: 5 out of 5

I will be going back again. The show is one of the most beautiful displays of what the human body can do through dancing. The bright colors of the clothing and the background screen are enchanting. After the host’s described the performance, you understood and saw exactly that through the dance. Beautiful singing and instruments as well. It really drew me in. Amazing

  • A very good experience.

by Jay Wow on 2/28/24Columbia County Performing Arts Center - EvansRating: 5 out of 5

We had to travel out of state, because it was showing in our city during the week which did not permit us to attend. So we had to go out of state , during the weekend. The show was or seemed a little less artists but non the wise still fine. We still enjoyed the experience. After the show the staff was very engaging, the free flowing, effortless we would love to see other shows in the future, move with professionalism and laser light intention.

  • Pretty Costumes

by LT on 2/27/24The Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center - El PasoRating: 4 out of 5

It was a bit long. The opening number with the beautiful costumes was very nice. The acrobatics were awesome. After a while, the stories were too many. It could have been shorter. The piano lady with her beautiful dress played flawlessly. I really did not understand why there was a guy singing. It was okay but not necessary. My daughter thought it was a bit political. This did not bother me. She was looking a magnet souvenir but we did not see any.

  • Remarkable production and performance.

  • Talented PR machine

by Not easily swayed on 2/25/24Lake Charles Event Ctr Rosa Hart Theatre - Lake CharlesRating: 5 out of 5

Everyone was extremely talented including the live Orchestra members. There are not so subtle refrences to organ harvesting in the first half but the talent around that dance will easily get you past the drama. The ERHU musician was mesmerizing. Her bow hand was magical to watch. Overall, it was entertaining and joyful to watch such talent. The downside was the subtle PR and bookselling merch that uninformed guests bought into not knowing why they bought the books. Maybe there will be more peace on Earth if the guests really delve into the deeper meaning of the groups beliefs. Worth the 100$ ticket price.
