About

Jamaican-American rapper and singer Shaggy exploded on the music scene in 2001 with the smash single "It Wasn't Me" off the multi-platinum selling album Hot Shot. The album also featured the single, "Angel," and helped launch Shaggy into international stardom where tickets for his live act were a hot draw, including memorable concerts with Natalie, Cyndi Lauper, Rupee and Fay-Ann Lyons. In addition to touring the world, Shaggy has also performed at several high-profile events, including the opening ceremony of the inaugural Champions League Twenty20 and the closing ceremony of the 2009 IPL tournament in South Africa. Following the release of a new album in 2013, it's expected that Shaggy will tour again with fellow musicians. Blessed with a unique, stylistic voice and featuring dancing and Jamaican influences in his act, Shaggy has sold hundreds of thousands of tickets. Shaggy collaborated with producing duo Sly and Robbie for the release of his latest album, "Out of Many, One Music." The album features several guest appearances, including Ne-Yo, Damian Marley, Beres Hammond, Konshens and Jimmy Cozier. "Out of Many, One Music" features the lead single, "Fight This Feeling," in addition to "Make Up" and "She Gives Me Love." Collectively, Shaggy has produced 12 studio albums over his 20-year career.

Shaggy was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and lived there until his family relocated to Brooklyn. He enlisted in the US Marines, but music was his true passion. While serving in the military, he gained inspiration for his first hit, "Boombastic." It wasn't until 2000, though, when Shaggy became an international sensation with the multi-platinum selling "Hot Shot." The singer/rapper has captivated audiences over a long and productive career and will continue to entertain select stages across the globe in 2014.

  • Never see shaggy

by Urkiddingme on 8/30/10Fort McDowell Casino - Fountain Hills - Fountain HillsRating: 1 out of 5

Steel Pulse brought down the house. Wish they were the main act. I would never recommend anyone to see Shaggy, even for free. He is not reggae he is Jamaican pop. Barely did any of his own songs. Probably because he doesn't have anything popular or current. Mostly a dj'ing show for Shaggy.

  • Steal Pulse & Shaggy.. Great Concert!

by bfd644 on 8/26/10Fort McDowell Casino - Fountain Hills - Fountain HillsRating: 5 out of 5

Steal Pulse started the show and they were amazing, such good music.. the group showed alot to the fans, after the show Selwyn Brown took time out to talk, take pics and sign autographs for the fans. Baruch Hinds ( David Hunds son ) was also there taking time to take pics and talk to fans. The rest of the group went in.. Shaggy was very good, performed so well.. the show was a hit. It started to rain towards the end of the show so it was hard for them to perform, everything was getting wet but they still tried to make the finish good.

  • Shaggy With Steel Pulse

by Carissa77 on 8/25/10Fort McDowell Casino - Fountain Hills - Fountain HillsRating: 4 out of 5

it should have been Steel Pulse With Shaggy. Steel Pulse drew that crowd. that is who everyone was there to see. they did great but were on the stage way too short. they should have played 2-3 hrs. i talked to many people in the crowd and i did not find a single person who went there to see shaggy. i give steel pulse 5 stars and shaggy 1 star. after it was apparent that steel pulse was done for the night, there was a mass exodus. next time... put steel pulse by themselves at celebrity theater. they can sell it out... but i still had a really good time. oh and please have more to offer then budlight or bud for beer. throw in a premium beer or 2. stella or newcastle or anything other then bud...

Shaggy was not good at all. He is really not a reggae music artist. Did not enjoy his part of the show. Steel Pulse was the bomb. They should have been the headliner. Really enjoyed Steel Pulse

  • Shaggy wasAWESOME!!!

by 49ersfanatic on 8/23/10Fort McDowell Casino - Fountain Hills - Fountain HillsRating: 5 out of 5

Throughout the whole show, Shaggy had the crowd involved. The sound system was good for it being an outdoor show.

  • wrong time of the year to be outside

by Realhot1 on 8/23/10Fort McDowell Casino - Fountain Hills - Fountain HillsRating: 1 out of 5

I had premium seat but their was nothing premium about them, we had to go to stand in line like everyone for 1/2 of the concert just to get a drink when it was so hot.

I knew we would have a good time but didn't expect it to be as amazing as it was!!! Besides an awesome stage presence Shaggy played the crowd and had everyone dancing and enjoying great music and perfect weather......then the rain came and the combination of everything made the night unforgettable!!!!

  • Steel Pulse was AWESOME!!!!!

by SKANKER on 8/23/10Fort McDowell Casino - Fountain Hills - Fountain HillsRating: 4 out of 5

Steel Pulse was GREAT! Not really a Shaggy Fan but he was also GOOD! I;m a true Reggae fan and like to listen to real REGGAE not Reggae Hip Hop. But I enjoyed Shaggy and his band they livened up the crowd. I would attend another REGGAE concert if you have one. The rain was cool too. It was great timing. It waited to rain hard until after the concert but during the concert it was just sprinkling.

  • Shaggy's smile is killer!

by Taraesa on 8/22/10Fort McDowell Casino - Fountain Hills - Fountain HillsRating: 5 out of 5

Steel Pulse was great, but I went to see Shaggy. While Steel Pulse was performing a storm came upon us. It was an outdoor concert, so that was not good. When Shaggy got onstage, the rain started coming down. He wasn't able to do a full performance because of how hard it was raining. I was very disappointed that they didnt just wait the storm out. After about 45 minutes the rain stopped. He would have been able to come back out and complete the show. Even though it was cut very short, he was amazing! I do however wish that I would have known you could buy all access passes, and attend a meet and greet with him. I was very bummed when i found out because it was to late at that point :(

  • Shaggy f/Steel Pulse

by djteddybear on 8/22/10Fort McDowell Casino - Fountain Hills - Fountain HillsRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was a blend of old school reggae with new school reggae and dancehall. Both Artist put on an Amazing Show completeting thier sets inspite of the rain that came in unexpectantly. Steel Pulse Rocked the crowd with favorites from their smash hits album and Shaggy performed tracks from the Hot Shot through Boombastic albums. This concert is a must see for anyone who loves reggae music.

  • Opening Act better than headliner at Shaggy Concer

by um1hmm2 on 8/22/10Fort McDowell Casino - Fountain Hills - Fountain HillsRating: 3 out of 5

Unfortunately, Shaggy did not seem to have enough material or energy to do a really good full set..He seemed to used 50% fillers versus giving us the music we came to hear. Steel Pulse was on point and should have been the headliner with Shaggy being the opening act so that as we were wanting to say "just give us something" we would have been taken to a higher energy with Steel Pulse closing the deal!

  • Shaggy and Steel P

great performances, even despite the rain, but tickets extremely overpriced for venue.
