    Good show

by Marlesl on 12/17/12Warner Theatre - Washington

This was my first time seeing the nutcracker live. I have seen the 70's Baryshnikov on t.v. so my expectations were a little high. The Warner Theatre version was similar with a few costume exceptions (of course the music is the same). Overall it was pretty good, but honestly the first act is a little slow. The second act is fantastic (my husband even liked it). The theater allows you to bring drinks into the show which is great if you want to snack or sip on a cocktail. I asked about dress code, but there as none. I recommend business casual. Most ladies were dressed up very nice and the little girls looked precious in their winter red velvet dresses!

    Visually Facinating!

by Purpledreamdance on 12/16/12Warner Theatre - Washington

The Nutcracker ballet was visually and conceptually representative of the authentic story with an ingenious integration of Washington, D.C. and American History.

    the nutcracker was great

by rgiii on 12/16/12Warner Theatre - Washington

The production was unique, creative and done with a really good sense of humor ; a fresh production of a holiday favorite. I have taken my grandkids each year for 11 years and this was the most fun. Very enjoyable!

    Nutcracker was great!

    by wblover27 on 12/14/12Warner Theatre - Washington

The Nutcracker ballet was great!! Seats were good. We sat in the orchesta section which I recommend. Seats are a little tight though. And only other complaint was it was super HOT in there!!! Wear short sleeves for sure! I would give Warner Theatre another try, but if the temperature is like this again, count me out.

    My first ballet experience!

    by Amy2285 on 12/14/12Warner Theatre - Washington

This was my first ballet and although I was excited, I wasn't quite sure if I would enjoy it or not. I was pleasantly blown away and enjoyed every minute of it! It was so beautiful and entertaining and at times, even funny. I had goosebumps at least 90% of the show. I am so excited for my next ballet experience.

    Nutcracker DC!

    by Moo26 on 12/14/12Warner Theatre - Washington

The Nutcracker DC was a wonderful ballet to enjoy during the holiday season and it is lovely how it incorporates a lot of DC elements into the story! I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys the Nutcracker story!!

    First time seeing the Nutcracker

by VictorN on 12/12/12Warner Theatre - Washington

Took the family to see the Nutcracker the first time. Not really a ballet fan but can appreciate the artistic skill, time and effort the performers put into their craft. Visual sets and costumes were grand. Surprisingly my 12yr old son liked it as did my 9yr old daughter. I wouldn't recommend this 2hr performance for children under 5yrs old (tough for them to sit still)

    Not the classical Nutcracker

by chgoodma on 12/12/12Warner Theatre - Washington

This performance is adapted to incorporate occurrences in American history, and was geared more towards children. I was expecting a classical performance, since it was for my mom's birthday. If you have kids, this is the place to take them. If you're looking for true ballet, go to the Kennedy Center.

    Now Christmas has really begun

by Alinefrank on 12/11/12Warner Theatre - Washington

We have been kicking off our holiday season with this production since its first year of production. We miss some of the earlier dancers, but the new dancers have by and large measured up. Also, the recorded score did not seem to negatively impact the production, contrary to a recent Post article.

Very good production of the Nutcracker

    by VAMom14 on 12/11/12Warner Theatre - Washington

A very talented cast of dancers, interestingly staged, beautiful scenery highlighting DC. My children were hypnotized by it. My only criticism is that for that amount of money, there really should have been a live orchestra. It detracted from the show somewhat. But I knew that going into it.

    Excellent Performance!

by Anonymous on 12/10/12Warner Theatre - Washington

This year's production of the Nutcracker is the most entertaining I've seen yet! The dancers were wonderful. The stage looked great. The entire production exceeded my expectations! The small, almost unnoticeable, funny moments made this year’s production hilarious. Add ballet perfection and Septime Webre has created the best production of the Nutcracker that I’ve seen in years!

The show was amazing! We especially liked when the director came out before the show and guided us on theatre manners!

Septime Webre's Nutcracker - Stage Sets Amazing

by NutkrAfiicianado on 12/10/12Warner Theatre - Washington

I danced in the nutrcracker at the age of nine for the (then) National Ballet, have seen every year since the age of five The Nutcracker performed by local, national and international groups across the country and I can say that the ballet itself was just okay but the stage sets are truly amazing. Most all of the dancers were graceful and clearly well trained. Many of the male dancers had a lot of fun with their characters (especially the clown's mother who added the Gangnam Style dance moves to his repetoire atop the circus tent). Since this ballet is an adaptation of the story focused around George Washington and the revolution, we would like to have seen more George Washington and Rat King and Army weaved into the seconf half of the ballet. There was little flow in the Washington story from the first half to the second.

    Nutcracker Classic

by TCNutcracker on 12/10/12Warner Theatre - Washington

This is the third time I've seen the show and it is always a wondrous event. The dancing is quite good- at all levels of the Washington Ballet group. And you can tell the children do much work to prepare. They really complement the professionals and semi-professionals. The choreography remains fresh and is supplemented by colorful costumes and excellent scenery. What is missing is the live music to accompany the dancer but I believe that would be an extraordinary expense.

    High End Community Theater

by NonConnoisseur on 12/9/12Warner Theatre - Washington

The performers ranged from a few very good, most good, and a few not so good. The music was piped in and the performance suffered as a result. Would not recommend.

    Nutcracker was amazing!!

    Underwhelming

by NoOrchestra on 12/9/12Warner Theatre - Washington

Charming enough, and an appearance by the Racing Presidents (via the Nats) was fun. However, the lack of an orchestra was quite a hole to dig out of. Didn't help that we were sitting "orchestra" left right in front of the speaker.
