Seattle Kraken History

The Seattle Kraken played their inaugural season during the NHL's 2021-2022 season as the 32nd franchise. They are the first professional hockey team to play in Seattle since the Seattle Metropolitans, who were the first American hockey team to win the Stanley Cup in 1917.

The Kraken earned their first win in franchise history on October 14, 2021, a 4-3 victory against the Predators in Nashville. The win came in their second game played during the 2021-22 season. The Kraken completed their first-ever season in the NHL with a 27-49-6 record and 60 points. In the 2023 NHL Playoffs, the Kraken eliminated the Colorado Avalanche, winning 2-1 in Game 7 to become the first expansion team to beat the reigning Stanley Cup champs in their playoff debut.

    So much fun

by Awesome time on 1/25/23Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle

I took my kids to this. I was so impressed that the tickets were reasonably priced because I don’t think my family and I could afford to go to a Kraken game together. It was such a fun way to get to know the players, especially if you aren’t familiar with the hockey team. I left being a big fan of Geekie! But they all were truly amazing!

    Focused on Fun

by KrackenFanGirl on 1/24/23Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle

I was so pleased with my experience at CPA and the Kracken game. All options are easy to access, seats are easy to navigate, few waiting lines, and many choices. I don't understand why there aren't any dark beer options at all! The game entertainment and AV experience were excellent.

    They need a new coach

by HockeyPuck on 1/1/23Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle

As usual, the Kracken have very inconsistent play. Tonight there was no defense! Its time to start thinking about getting a real NHL coach!

    Amazing venue

by Mike S on 12/23/22Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle

The show and game was amazing. Venue a bit hard to navigate, cost of food and Bev is just a bit ridiculous. Now that I have gone to a couple games prefer to pre function outside the venue and not partake in the over priced everything.

What is with the popcorn bags?

by Oriville Redenbacher on 12/12/22Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle

Event was great, Service was great, not enough bathrooms to avoid huge lines during intermissions. What is with the plastic bags that hold the popcorn? Once they are opened they start to fall apart and the popcorn start to fall out everywhere. It is almost as though the food people do not want you take any leftovers back to your car....

    First time ever

Great game on our very first time watching an NHL game in an arena. My son and I had a good time except for the overpriced food and drink.

    Fun Hockey Game

by TKay on 11/16/22Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle

Got to Climate Pledge Arena shortly before it opened. Toured all the levels during the two games we attended. Very nice venue. We were looking for burritos but we didn't find any. Visited three food vendors. Food was typical. Nothing special. However, all the vendors were super friendly and helpful. Security person went out of his way to briefly show us around and point out various locations. During the game things moved right along with something different at each break in the game. Lots of planning to do that. A lot of fun. We were only able to afford to go due to the Kracken offering discount tickets last summer. Thanks, Kracken!

Climate Pledge is a gorgeous arena. I had such a good time!! My son works up there so I went to a game to be nearby him but ended up loving the arena & the game. My son said the best hockey fans so far are the Minnesota Wild, wish I had gone to that game!!
