SCORPIONS IN CONCERT:

German band Scorpions has been electrifying audiences since the early '70s with their signature hard-rocking melodic metal and power ballads. With the 2010 release of their 17th studio album Sting in the Tail, the band proved that age had far but mellowed them, kicking off another high-energy tour that has fans eagerly awaiting the chance to see them in 2014.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"What a blistering, incredible and energetic concert the Scorpions put on tonight at American Airlines Center. Wailing guitar riffs and solos, thundering rhythms, and of course Klaus Meine's signature, crystal clear, high tenor voice soaring across the arena…Tonight the teenage boy in me returned for one last concert with my favorite band ever."

"The Scorps sounded AWESOME and the energy was AWESOME. They were having so much fun on stage and it showed…They were very interactive with their fans by throwing guitar picks and drumsticks whenever they had the chance!"

"This band still sounds amazing, and their body of work is awesome…They put on a great show as always and I would love to see them again!"

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Scorpions are one of the most successful European bands in music history, having sold over 100 million albums worldwide. Formed in 1969, their early hard rock albums gained attention in Europe and Japan, but it wasn’t until they dropped more radio-friendly albums like 1982's Blackout and 1984's Love At First Sting that they found international fame. Over the years the band has developed a reputation for being an outstanding live act, with Klaus Meine delivering some of the most pitch-perfect live vocals in the history of rock.

The Scorpions pulled out all the stops on this tour and played their hearts out! Flawless & Loud in New Hampshire! Hope they add a Boston date before heading back across the pond! They are still ringing in our ears here!

can not believe the concert is over. i have been going over every song in my head to remember ever image of this unbelievable rock concert. i wish the Scorpions played a few more songs from the new album. they did not talk about it being the last tour for the band. maybe it isn't. i am 50 yrs old and had my 20yr old metal head son with me. he realized what great metal bands came out of europe during the 70's b& 80's the Scorpions being one of the best. tight set for a bunch of old men. the boys can ROCK with the best of them. All my heart and love to the band for all the great ROCK. GOD BLESS THEM ALL.....ROCK AND ROLL FOREVER...PEACE AND LUV..

Scorpions still have a sting in their tail.

by RocktheBeach on 6/24/10Nikon at Jones Beach Theater - Wantagh

First off the warm up band and the weather. As 80's hair band Cinderella took the stage @ 7:45pm and started their set with second wind the clouds started to roll in and the rain was soon to fallow. The rain soaked 12 song set included the bands hits and was performed to a half full house. Cinderella sounded great and had good energy on stage but are more suited for smaller venues at this stage in their career. The Scorpions are still a main attraction and rocked the beach for a quality 90 minute set.

    Scorpions ... Amazing!!

by Arkangel2002 on 6/24/10Nikon at Jones Beach Theater - Wantagh

This is the third time I have seen the Scorps (first time was around 1984/1985). Although it seemed like Klaus has slowed down some (although I heard he was not feeling well) it is still amazing to me the quality show they produce. If this is their last tour ... it is a very sad thing. Great band, great artists, great vocals, great songs, great show. If it wasn't for the rain (outdoor concert) during Cinderella, this would have been a near perfect night. The Scorps are still and will continue to be one of my top five all time bands. Congratulations to the band ... another great experience!!!

    Scorpions were Stupendous!!!

by cm64 on 6/24/10Nikon at Jones Beach Theater - Wantagh

It is quite difficult to describe how good the actually were in words. Klaus Meine's voice sounded remarkably young. James Kottak was awesome on the drums. Overall they were an amazing show to see, worth every penny.

    Voices are not same

by Cookiegirl70 on 6/24/10Nikon at Jones Beach Theater - Wantagh

Wow I was looking forward to seeing this historic heavy metal band and I was disappointed. Not because of the rain in which didnt help matters but the voice just wasnt there anymore. Everything was rushed and for a last world tour we should of gotten some extra time out of it. Cinderella went on 20 minutes late leaving the band to hurry into every song. The drum solo was awesome but the guitar solo lasted less then 5 minutes. Shocking indeed.

    Scorpions Retiring Too Soon

by STS26 on 6/24/10Nikon at Jones Beach Theater - Wantagh

Stage show is great. Video screens and movable drummer platform and lighting effects help add life to the show. Klaus has lost very little on his vocals. Guitars were solid and every equal to the vocal lead. Only disappointment was songs I would have liked to hear but didn't like Another Piece of Meat, Still Lovin' You, Something upbeat from Face the Heat.

    Scorpions kick butt

by puddlepirate11 on 6/23/10Nikon at Jones Beach Theater - Wantagh

This show was so Awesome! For men in their 60s, these guys spare no expense or string. This was my fourth time seeing the Scorpions throughout my life and they still put just as much energy and talent into each show as when I saw them in 1984.

hope Scorpions never stop playing -why farewell

by ItoallyLOVEScorpioms on 6/23/10Nikon at Jones Beach Theater - Wantagh

it was outdoors in the rain for Cinderella and when Scorpions came out it stopped raining and you feel everyone's joy - the music, all their songs are great, was like the best concert I ever went to, this includes zeppeln and green day--- awesome concerts---- the new song raised on rock is was great and did wind of change that was an experience outside on the water (and no rain) I still have goodebumps.... (my birds also always whistle with this one, actually they rock to the other songs tooo...of course they did Rock you like a hurricame, and i loved it and I love them - was a concert I will never forget, because I love them so much and I am so happy they came to NY but it was long way to Long Island and I hope they come to a place in NYC - they should come to shea stadium and bring Ciderella again and maybe bring def lepeoard too - and I will be there--- this show was over 1050pm and I felt like they just came out and 18 songs went by like magic so fast, we traveled to see them and got home around 2am, taking fast trains and a taxi --- WOW --- everyone on the railroad was raving about how great the concert was, tey did some video effects and they had solos all awesome ---- all the musicians were awesome - They need to come to NYC or Shea Stadium and play all day long and all night - that would make me happy - a 15 hour concert would be cool - and they could play with local talent at Shea too - that would be cool- let people in Queens play with them at Shea cause they have a big influence on a lot of young teens today and college kids like my son...i keep thinking the farewell part was a dream because they are so awesome

For a band that is retiring they should have reached back into their musical vault and played some classics.. eg Lovedrive , Steamrock Fever or Another Piece of Meat. The show itself was boring and slow and way to short. The price of the show was way to expensive for the amount of time that the Scorps played.I saw them 2 years ago at the BeaconTheatre where they were awesome but they looked nothing like that band last night. ...ps it looks like the clock has definitely struck midnight on Cinderella. They were brutal!!

Badass concert! Volume is pretty damn high!!!

by DonFrye on 6/23/10Nikon at Jones Beach Theater - Wantagh

The concert was great musically. Cinderella put on a nice opener (played all their hits and almost had a concert within a concert (played for like an hour). Scorpions were amazing. Klaus Meine still has a great voice and the guitars were blazing! The only issue is the volume and I had to put in my ear buds from my ipod because they helped me hear the details of the guitar better and didnt blow out my eardrums. The weather was a little annoying as it started to rain during cinderella's opening act and we had to move to the last seats (open) to avoid getting soaked.
