SCORPIONS IN CONCERT:

German band Scorpions has been electrifying audiences since the early '70s with their signature hard-rocking melodic metal and power ballads. With the 2010 release of their 17th studio album Sting in the Tail, the band proved that age had far but mellowed them, kicking off another high-energy tour that has fans eagerly awaiting the chance to see them in 2014.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"What a blistering, incredible and energetic concert the Scorpions put on tonight at American Airlines Center. Wailing guitar riffs and solos, thundering rhythms, and of course Klaus Meine's signature, crystal clear, high tenor voice soaring across the arena…Tonight the teenage boy in me returned for one last concert with my favorite band ever."

"The Scorps sounded AWESOME and the energy was AWESOME. They were having so much fun on stage and it showed…They were very interactive with their fans by throwing guitar picks and drumsticks whenever they had the chance!"

"This band still sounds amazing, and their body of work is awesome…They put on a great show as always and I would love to see them again!"

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Scorpions are one of the most successful European bands in music history, having sold over 100 million albums worldwide. Formed in 1969, their early hard rock albums gained attention in Europe and Japan, but it wasn’t until they dropped more radio-friendly albums like 1982's Blackout and 1984's Love At First Sting that they found international fame. Over the years the band has developed a reputation for being an outstanding live act, with Klaus Meine delivering some of the most pitch-perfect live vocals in the history of rock.

    Scorpions-You Guys Still Got It!!!

by ChristianDrummer on 7/14/10Mud Island Amphitheatre - Memphis

I must say I was impressed with all the bands on the bill. Rock Sugar did a great set and sounded amazing! Ratt did a great job as well! The Scorpions were amazing! I have been a fan of the Scorpions since Love at First Sting. I didn't understand the spitting. The bassist (I think) from Ratt and Rudolf would spit on the stage every so often. I didn't get it. Other than that, they kicked butt. This was my 12 yr. old son's first concert and his reaction was worth the price of the tickets. He is learning guitar and percussion ( I am a music teacher) and we got tickets pretty close to the stage on Matthias' side. He could see his fingers. We were at Mud Island and the only thing that I wish I could've changed was the fact that there were some hanging speakers behind Matthias that blocked our view of the drummer. Scorpions have a place in my heart as a great rock band with great guys and great music. Did I mention the Scorps are my son's favorite band? Thanks for all the music over the years!!!!!

    Scorpions, alive and well

by vicrok77 on 7/13/10DTE Energy Music Theatre - Clarkston

Even though the Scorpions have been around over thirty years, they aren't getting old. This felt like World Wide Live all over again... Very, very good. I was seated on the right side of the sound control station about the 30th or so row back and I was very happy with the show. I wouldn't have picked Cinderella to open though. They were so so overall, but I was no way disappointed with the Scorpions at all.

    Scorps/Ratt Kick A$$!!!!

    by Ynot007tn on 7/13/10Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

The highlite of this show was the bands!!!! The crowd could have been replaced LOL..... They acted like they had just got off work and were sitting in front of the tube. I was dissapointed there were not more folks at the concert as well... Comon this was the Scorpions.. the mega rock band that blew us away in the 70's, 80's, and 90's... They have not missed a beat. They were just as energetic as they were 20 years ago. The light show and video show was awesome. Thanks for a great time.... I wish I could be at the rocknamerica festival to hear you again.. Take care and thanks again to Klaus, Rudolf, Matthias, James, and Pawelfor the many years of rockin our A$$E$ off.

    Scorps Rock Nashville

by RoadDogLdr on 7/13/10Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

For a band that wants to hang it up, these guys showed no signs of slowing down. From the opening riff of "Sting in the Tail" to the final chords of "Rock you like a Hurricane", this was what a rock and roll show was meant to be. Pure energy the entire night. Do not miss this opportunity to see this band live.

The Scorps never lost their edge. I've been a fan since the 70's and I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. Getting there I realized how special they are as a professional act. They've been touring strong all year yet it was like watching them fresh out of the gate. Klaus's vocals were tight and strong. The band was animated and energetic like they were still kids. My favorite was the vocals. He carried the show through the sensitive segment which lasted several songs that require a prominent vocalist.

    blown away

by renewedfan on 7/13/10Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

I was blown away by the Scorpions. Had never seen them before and wasn't sure what to expect but it was probably the best sounding concert I have seen in years and I go to alot of shows. Their energy was unbelievable and Klaus' voice is just as perfect as ever! Wish I could catch another of their shows on this tour.

Scorpions "Get Your Sting and Blackout" World Tour

    by thor5911 on 7/13/10Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

Amazing show! Have seen Scorions three times; 1979, 1983 and 2010 and the 2010 show was by far their finest performance! Great interaction with the audience and non-stop energy throught the night! Even the drum solo was very entertaining and not remotely boring! Ratt was the opening act and performed for 58 minutes. They were also stellar and it was such a fine performance that I thought Scorpions might have difficulty reacing the same level! A wonderful concert experience and probably one of the top 5 concerts I've ever attended- and I've seen many of the legends! A great show that I would happily see again!

    rock sugar was great

by metalvamp on 7/13/10Mud Island Amphitheatre - Memphis

Rock sugar opened up this show the radio station in memphis flew them in and they were better than the ratt or scorpions. But anyway in my opinion ratt was not that good but carlos looks really healthy for a 60 something year old rocker. Stephen voice gets worse and worse as the years goes on. But in his defense he had just had hernia surgery to I am sure had something to do with it. Scorpions was great I enjoyed there whole set. Damn good for 3 guys in the mid 60's.

    Scorps

by DirtyOldRichard on 7/12/10Mud Island Amphitheatre - Memphis

Good show. Really tight. Nice lighting and good sound. The kicked off the set with 5 or 6 rocking songs and then did a few of their tamer songs, like the Wind of Change. My favorite was the 5the song, The Zoo. The last third was back to the hard rocking stuff. Ending with Rock You Like A Hurricane. I could have done without the cliched drum solo that went on and on. Never been much of a fan of drum solos. The drum kit rose up above the band, putting the drummer up in the lights a couple of times during the show. The crowd was very responsive though. There were maybe 3500-4000 people at Mud Island (neither an island nor mud) Amphitheatre. The good news is that the expected thunderstorms stayed completely away, the bad news is that the mosquitos did not. Scorps are a classy band that I always considered a notch or two above the 80's hair bands they were always lumped together with.

    Scorpions are just great

by Quag on 7/12/10Mud Island Amphitheatre - Memphis

ive seen them headline monster festivals back in the day... their talent is unsurpassed. as they played in this sweltering humidity, Klaus wiping the sweat off his face alot, they just kept the audience engaged; whether it be Herman's drum solo then revealing his matching shirt and tattoo or Matthias' interlude playing making his guitar howl and moan and he also stood still long enough for any lousy camera to take a cool picture, so thanks guys, youve been kicking ass a long time and i wish you the best. id like to see Rudy & Michael tour solo but those days may have already come and gone...

SCORPIONS ROCKED ME LIKE A HURRICANE!!!

by Tdawgg on 7/12/10Time Warner Cable Amphitheater at Tower City - Cleveland

This concert was amazing ... 45 years, and they still know how to rock the crowd. The huge video screen in the background was awesome. And the drum solo was one of the best ever! I LOVE this band, and they will be missed by all of their fans.

this is classic rock & roll

by hullflyer on 7/12/10Mud Island Amphitheatre - Memphis

rock sugar was rather weak but ratt blew me away. never really ranked them high on the rock chart in the 80's & 90's. they had a few good songs but didn't really do anything for me. from start to end they brought it and the crowd knew it. the scorpions were excellent. i wasn't familiar with the new material of which they played 3 songs. the old standbyes were fantastic and the band seemed to still enjoy playing them. klaus can still hit the notes. these guys will be missed

Scorpions are one of my favorite bands at all time, I have been listening to their music since 1980 when I was 12. I was very happy to finally see them so close and enjoyed them very very much. The concert in Nashville, TN was unforgettable for me. I am so sad that they will retire after this tour. I love their new album too. Thanks!

    Excellent show

by DonutGiant on 7/12/10Mud Island Amphitheatre - Memphis

Ratt opened and was very tight and clear. Their show was very good. The Scorpions came on next and as always, were great. Our only disappointment was they did not play " Still Loving You".
