About

Sarah McLachlan became one of most distinctive female vocalists after breaking out in the ’90s behind singles such as “Building a Mystery” and “I Will Remember You.” The Halifax, Nova Scotia native released her debut album Touch in 1988 and logged her first Hot 100-charting singles with 1994’s Fumbling Towards Ecstasy. Her 1997 effort Surfacing debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and hosted her three highest-charting Hot 100 singles: “Building a Mystery,” at No. 13, “Adia” at No. 3 and “Angel” at No. 4. The album went on to win two Grammy Awards. Surfacing also coincided with the first Lilith Fair, the wildly successful all-female touring festival co-founded and hosted by McLachlan that took place from 1997 through 1999 and became the top-grossing music festival of the late-’90s. 2003’s Afterglow marked McLachlan’s third consecutive Top 10 album, and she maintained that streak with studio albums released through 2014’s Shine On. McLachlan has won 12 JUNO Awards and in 2017 was inducted into The Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

  • Sarah McLachlan in Irving, TX July 3, 2024

  • Great Concert Some Sound Issues

by ElleGee on 7/9/24The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - IrvingRating: 4 out of 5

This is the concert I had wanted to go to since I was a teen. I absolutely loved seeing Sarah McLachlan. It was also nice to be in an audience that didn’t feel the need to stand the entire time and sing every word. I enjoy those concerts, too, but I wanted to hear Sarah! My only issue was that the house speakers were turned up too loud for 8 songs. The echo was horrible and it messed up some of my favorite songs. It took far too long for it to be corrected and I was really disappointed that four of my faves had the echo.

  • Sarah was amazing, venue awful

by Misha on 7/9/24Moody Amphitheater - AustinRating: 3 out of 5

Had VIP tickets in Austin at the Moody Amphitheater. VIP start time was too early (3:30 & concert started at 7:20), only 1 food vendor inside the venue.

  • Loved it!

by SuperRed on 7/8/24Radio City Music Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

It’s says a lot if it’s 30 years later and you can still sell out Radio City Music Hall. Loved Sarah, her voice hasn’t changed at all!!

  • Voice!

by Hshhhh on 7/8/24Moody Amphitheater - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

Her voice was incredible. The entire audience was blown away by her talent. It was a nostalgic night with all the feels. The venue was amazing even though it was a hot night!

  • Too hot in july

by Anonymous on 7/8/24Moody Amphitheater - AustinRating: 2 out of 5

This event should have been scheduled for later in the evening when the sun was down. 100 degrees and no shade, no breeze. My wife got overheated and we had to leave before the band even came out. Will know better for next time.

  • She’s amazing!

by JDM on 7/8/24Moody Amphitheater - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was a roaring success! The crowd was great, the weather was warm (expected) , but she seemed more bothered by it than the crowd. She sounded extraordinary! Had a blast!

  • Incredible sound and atmosphere

by Amber on 7/8/24Moody Amphitheater - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

Saw Sarah mclachlan 3rd row in a very referential and adoring crowd. Despite the heat, the sound was incredible and Sarah sounded beyond amazing. I splurged on vip and staff was lovely and showed everyone a good time. However, security chattered socially at the end of the concert and I had to shush them. All staff, including security, need to be respectful of fans spending their hard earned money to bask in an incredible artist. Hopefully, that was a one off and will not be repeated. Since I chose floor up close, didn’t have to deal with loud audience members this time. I definitely rec floor first 10 rows to be in shade and close to stage. Also dig the mocktail selection and food - margarita and turkey sandwich on whole grain bread.

  • Best night remembering my teenage angst!

by Gwen on 7/8/24Moody Amphitheater - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

Sarah looked wonderful, sounded wonderful and brought me back to the '90s!! Made me remember my teenage years!

  • Great Venue

by JEM on 7/8/24Moody Amphitheater - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

Wife was in wheelchair and staff and volunteers were helpful from arrival, during performance and in exiting. The venue itself is one of our favorites and Sarah Mclachlan was outstanding. She is a sweet singer with a sweet personality. Thankfully the night was cooler with a nice breeze. The acoustics and the visuals were on target.

  • Musical Alchemy

by hdan on 7/8/24Moody Amphitheater - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

Sarah's tour to revisit of her classic album "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy"brings back the driving rhythms and raw lyrics that put her on the map. Her band consists entirely of seasoned professionals, all of whom have collaborated with Sarah for years, and all of whom were quite comfortable on stage with each other. Their camaraderie was evident, and together with Sarah's candid asides only reinforced the intimate feeling of the show. But this was no mellow meander through heartfelt slow songs, this was Sarah at her most powerful, delivering the musical alchemy that gave birth to the whole "Lilith Fair"movement. The opening set featuring songs written after "Fumbling"was released, and served as an enjoyable warm up. Then, the show began in earnest. The opening track of "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy"is "Possession", a dark and haunting exploration of unhealthy obsession, and that song sets the tone for the rest of the album. The album builds to a crescendo with "Hold On"before finally giving the audience room to breath with the sing-along "Ice Cream". Then comes the technical lynch pin of the show, "Fear", which is sung almost entirely in Sarah's highest singing range. Given that she had just spent over an hour rocking, it's safe to say everyone had a little fear that "Fear"might break her mighty voice. But she pulled off the song without a hitch, and ended with the musical sigh that is the title track of the album. The opening band, "Feist", was just as enjoyable as I would expect from Sarah's opening act, and Feist fit in very well thematically with other acts that have opened for "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy"back in its original tour - Paula Cole (before anyone knew who she was) and Lisa Loeb (who was plenty famous at the time). Sarah's show delivered a night of magic, and brought absolutely back the feel of her 90's tour of the same material. I could have asked for nothing more.

  • Incredible night 10/10!

    by K and T on 7/8/24Moody Amphitheater - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing!! Ms. M has a heart of gold and a love for people that transcends every social barrier. If everyone could be so gracious we’d live in a different world. Rarely do artist encourage such unity. Would watch her again just to listen to her Heaven sent voice surrounded by a crowd enraptured. Love love loved the entire performance!

We had the best concert experience ever, and need to say a special thank you to Isabella from Live Nation who was outstanding and made our experience so memorable. Isabella was super friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to help us. She is a true asset to Live Nation. And of course as always, Sarah McLachlan was simply sensational!
