About

Sarah McLachlan became one of most distinctive female vocalists after breaking out in the ’90s behind singles such as “Building a Mystery” and “I Will Remember You.” The Halifax, Nova Scotia native released her debut album Touch in 1988 and logged her first Hot 100-charting singles with 1994’s Fumbling Towards Ecstasy. Her 1997 effort Surfacing debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and hosted her three highest-charting Hot 100 singles: “Building a Mystery,” at No. 13, “Adia” at No. 3 and “Angel” at No. 4. The album went on to win two Grammy Awards. Surfacing also coincided with the first Lilith Fair, the wildly successful all-female touring festival co-founded and hosted by McLachlan that took place from 1997 through 1999 and became the top-grossing music festival of the late-’90s. 2003’s Afterglow marked McLachlan’s third consecutive Top 10 album, and she maintained that streak with studio albums released through 2014’s Shine On. McLachlan has won 12 JUNO Awards and in 2017 was inducted into The Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

  • Lilith was an amazing gathering of powerful women

by tkrosevear on 7/4/10Gorge Amphitheatre - GeorgeRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first major outing since losing my soulmate/husband in March, a most powerfully empowering energetic to be a part of with some amazing female artists! Inspired this: Lilith does call, as it's time to fly-wild women of the earth not idly standing by-For generations we've hidden the shadows of power-to create the light of peace, emerging like flowers-What spins out of control in darkness of ego-Dogmas aside, accept LOVE in the light indigo-Freeing and nurturing with thoughts and actions united-with a path universal, divinely guided and lighted-This task is not small and divided we shall douse-the being within that's been buried in the walls of our house-A need to open doors and windows, sharing light of our voice-So our children's futures have some remnant of choice. Blessings to all these fabulous females!!!

Sarah was amazing but on very late and a lot of time was wasted on a stupid sitcom that xould hardby been seen by 90 of the people. The sitcom if there ws money incvolkved should of been much earlier when it first got dark.. It was loooooonnnng

  • Lilith in Vancouver, WA

by ERJunky on 7/4/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 4 out of 5

It was great despite the rain. Our suggestion would be to close the show with Sugarland or Sheryl Crow. They were fabulous. Ending on Sarah after a long day made us sleepy and we left early.

  • Sarah gave me goosebumps

by GzuzFreak on 7/4/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 5 out of 5

The website indicated that seating would available at 2:30 but we were not allowed to take our seats until 5:00. I called the Amphitheater and was told the event would start shortly after 2:30 . I would have planned my day differently if I could have known the main event didn't start until 5:30 or so. However, once the show started the music was amazing to say the least. I loved Erikah Badu . Sheryl Crow is a complete pro . Sugerland has the energy of a nuclear reactor . Sarah McLachlan was breathtaking . The show was worth every penny and inconvenience . Thank you .

  • Somewhat disappointed

This was my first Lilith Fair, and I have to say that although I enjoyed some things, overall, I was pretty disappointed. I very much enjoyed Ms. Crow and Sugarland was wonderful. Thoughts for improvement: *Have the main stage and the smaller stages close together so that all the acts can be seen from the place people paid to see the show. *Allow people into their places on time. *Have more vendors both for food and other items *Arrange the acts so that there is more of a building of energy.

  • Sugarland Rocked!

    by fun2bme on 7/4/10Gorge Amphitheatre - GeorgeRating: 5 out of 5

The entire event was fab. Sugarland was the band that had people on their feet. Even non country junkies could not help but get swept away by their energy.

  • Lilith really rocked my world!

by JowyF on 7/4/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 4 out of 5

All the major performers were great, but especially loved performances by Sheryl Crow and Sarah McLachlan. Sheryl really had energy and charisma and delivered a standout performance, Sarah wowed the crowd with her ethereal vocals and charm. The finale with all artists (sans Erykah Badu) was definitely worth waiting for. Stayed for everything despite the chill in the Pacific NW. Although I am not a fan of "new country" Sugarland put on a raucous performance as well and really had much of the crowd on their feet. So full lineup for Portland, OR was Colbie Caillout, Erykah Badu, Sheryl Crow, Sugarland, and Sarah McLachlan.

  • Lilith was awesome

Really enjoyed Grace Potter. Sugarland rocked the Gorge. Awesome. Sarah was great.

  • Girl Power!

by Andi13 on 7/4/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 4 out of 5

Wished that there would have been more to do before main stage concert began. There was a shortage of info cards that said what was going on where so that caused some confusion. That said, the music on all stages was incredible! Loved everything about it and couldn't have been more excited when all of the musicians took the stage for the finale. Thanks for this opportunity!

  • Great Music

by Thirstyhungry on 7/4/10Gorge Amphitheatre - GeorgeRating: 3 out of 5

The weather was perfect! The music was inspiring, the crowds were well behaved, all in all the event was well worth it! Now if you could just do something about the $9 hot dog,$12 beer and worst of all $4 water, come on guys bottle of water is .10 you would think a 1000% profit would be good at $1 a bottle.

  • Lilith in the Gorge

    by slacker1819 on 7/4/10Gorge Amphitheatre - GeorgeRating: 4 out of 5

The music was fabulous. Sarah's voice is so beautiful that it made me cry. The Gorge is a gorgeous venue. All the performers did a great job. The website should have provided more information because a lot of people missed some of the opening acts because they were on different stages. Also when your ticket says show time 2:30 you expect to be in your seats then, not standing in line in the parking lot waiting for the gates to open. The festival itself was great but the venue needs to relax a little on things like bringing in your own water (I was told to throw one bottle away because I had too much).

  • Fun, but defintely missed in organization of event

by july11gramma on 7/4/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 3 out of 5

We bought an upgraded package and were super excited for event, but the package was definitely not worth the huge upcharge. We got a packback, water bottle and some chips and dip. Same seats (which were good) but it was very difficult to find our check in (no one knew where it was that was working the event) Also where the acts were playing was hard to find in the first few performances. The stages were not marked as Stage 2 or 3. We ran around the first 2 hours tring to figure out where we were supposed to be! The acts inside the concert area were exceptional. Loved the energy of the event. Would like to see more vendors there for womens crafts etc........

  • by jackayeo on 7/4/10Gorge Amphitheatre - GeorgeRating: 4 out of 5

The artists were amazing. Waited in line 2 and 1/2 hours in hot sun. Doors were supposed to open at 2:30 finally got inside at about 3:30.

  • lilith

by thorsmom on 7/4/10Gorge Amphitheatre - GeorgeRating: 5 out of 5

WOW! Ten long years was worth the wait. Great side bands, hope that Lilith will continue on.

  • by cpfan on 7/4/10Gorge Amphitheatre - GeorgeRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent show!! Had a great time, performers were awesome!!!!

  • rained out

by cwhite33 on 7/4/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 1 out of 5

lots of rain and little music. The show was supposed to start at 2:30 no one came on the main stage until 5:30 and then it was Sheryl Crow who played a few songs followed by Erica Badu and the Sheryl Crow again. We did not stay as we expected many more musicians and were soaked to the bone from all the rain.

  • Performers, almost all great

    by Tazman49 on 7/4/10Gorge Amphitheatre - GeorgeRating: 5 out of 5

Most performers were really great with lots of energy, and very thankful for people attending

  • had a great time

by dancingeeyore on 7/4/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 4 out of 5

i had a great time at the event. All of the artists did a great job. i felt that either erykah badu came on late or somehow got cut short on performance time cause she only did 4 songs and i was really enjoying her so i was bummed. also, there was no way to find out what time the music actually started or who was performing when, until you were actually at the amphitheater. so if you went when the gates opened, you didn't really see alot of music until round 4 or 5 and the main stage didnt start till 6. just wish i had been able to look online and shcedule my time more appropriately, instead of just sitting in the rain waiting.... but, again, had a great time once the main stage got going.

  • Lilith 2010 Totally Rocks!!

by SpinGlo55 on 7/4/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 5 out of 5

I am so completely satisfied today after yesterdays Lilith event... all my favorite female artists in one venue... FANTABULOUS!! And SUGARLAND.... OMG .... You are absolutely OUTSTANDING in concert - so much Fun!!! Not even the occassional cloud-burst of rain could dampen my spirit yesterday - Thank You All for a truly Wonderful Experience!. A+++++

  • Sugarland was awesome

by showerdown on 7/4/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 5 out of 5

This was a very nice setting and enjoyed being able to see 11 different artist ranging from seasoned to upcomming stars
