About

Sarah McLachlan became one of most distinctive female vocalists after breaking out in the ’90s behind singles such as “Building a Mystery” and “I Will Remember You.” The Halifax, Nova Scotia native released her debut album Touch in 1988 and logged her first Hot 100-charting singles with 1994’s Fumbling Towards Ecstasy. Her 1997 effort Surfacing debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and hosted her three highest-charting Hot 100 singles: “Building a Mystery,” at No. 13, “Adia” at No. 3 and “Angel” at No. 4. The album went on to win two Grammy Awards. Surfacing also coincided with the first Lilith Fair, the wildly successful all-female touring festival co-founded and hosted by McLachlan that took place from 1997 through 1999 and became the top-grossing music festival of the late-’90s. 2003’s Afterglow marked McLachlan’s third consecutive Top 10 album, and she maintained that streak with studio albums released through 2014’s Shine On. McLachlan has won 12 JUNO Awards and in 2017 was inducted into The Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

  • Lilith is Lilith. Lilith is lovely.

by ABCDEFG1 on 7/4/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 4 out of 5

I went to one of the last Lilith Fair's in 1998 on my way to college. It was such a memorable and special experience to share with my mother and sister. The feel was lighthearted, open and creative. I enjoyed the grassroots feel to it all and was very excited to see Lilith returning this year! It may have been the venue, but I felt the down to earth, grassroots feel of Lilith disappear this year. It seems so much more marketed and main stream, taking some of the joy out of the connectedness between women and canvas for creativity. The artist were incredible and Sugarland put on a great show! I'd highly recommend you discontiue doing the screening of Cougar Town. It doesn't seem like the right audience for this (although Sheryl Crow was in it). Having TV on also took about from the glory of music. Shorten the sets between artist! I loved the multi stages outside to see the smaller acts. Very intimate and Lucy Schwartz was FANTASTIC! Thanks for all you do! Keep it up!

  • Lilith at Ridgefield Wa

by cr2010 on 7/4/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was amazing. Well organized, on time, wonderful performers and fun, happy audience. HOWEVER, before Sara came on, instead of playing music ABC blasted a TV show over the monitors!!! What tv at a music concert? Really disappointing.

  • Lilith was fun

by DottNett on 7/4/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 5 out of 5

Could had danced all night..Sugarland, Sheryl Crow, and Sarah MacLachlan were outstanding...Lilith 2010 was memorable.

  • Lilith - Catch it if you can!

by Anonymous on 7/3/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic show with great artists. The performances were exciting and memorable and everybody looked to be having a great time, even the folks out on the grass in the rain! If you have the opportunity to catch one of the shows this summer, don't miss it. This is truly a unique event. Nowhere else will you be able to see this many diverse and talented female performers all together in one show. Sarah and company have done a huge amount of work to put this together, make it eco-friendly and fun and it shows.

  • Loved Lilith!

by egw31 on 7/3/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 5 out of 5

Loved Lilith! Sarah was amazing as usual, Sugarland was super upbeat and fun, Sheryl rocked, Erykah had good beats to groove to and Colbie was a sweet opener. Loved that they stuck to the schedule times! Venue was good. Wished the main stage would have started couple hours earlier (Sarah starting at 10 was late!!!). Also would have appreciated line-up and times posted online ahead of time.

  • In a word, "AMAZING"

by Jagmeyer on 7/3/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 5 out of 5

I saw all of the 2nd stage and main stage performances. Thanks for introducing me to Grace Potter and the Nocturnals and to Sugarland!!!! OMG what performances. Sarah was as beuatiful and sexy as ever. Eryka Badu is the Funky Queen! Sheryl Crow made everyone dance and Colbie Caillat made everyone feel "bubbly" down to their toes!

  • Lilith was just Fair

by Anonymous on 7/3/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 2 out of 5

The concert was ok but to have to sit and watch Cougarland?? Whose brillant idea was that??!! They should have played music during this time and not made us watch TV! Could have stayed home and done that!!

  • Show was great! Venue is mismanaged.

by marylynw on 7/3/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 4 out of 5

The star of this show was Sugarland which totally surprised me. I had not really known them before but that lead singer rocked the house!! Erykah Badu came in a close second. The lesser known acts out on the smaller stage were fun to get to know. Sarah McLachlan put us to sleep and Sheryl Crow seemed a little worn out.

  • Lilith worth the money

by gllg on 7/3/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 4 out of 5

I was skeptical, I admit it. I went to the one a decade ago and didn't think it would live up to my memory of that event. I was wrong. It wasn't the same, but it was good, and I left smiling and signing and I would totally buy a ticket to the next one. The artists are awesome, even the smaller stage artists are worth running back and forth for. You may not hate yourself if you don't go, but you'll be happy that you did!

  • Lilith Fair

by mightylindell on 7/3/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 5 out of 5

Lilith was my first exposure to Sheryl Crow, Miss Badu, Sarah Mclachlan, Colbie Caillat, and Sugarland. All of these women were able to belt out the sounds and amazingly sang out with all the spirit they could muster! Sugarland's singer didn't need a microphone! They were all great!

  • Decent concert, venue was unorganized

by BeeEmCee on 7/3/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 3 out of 5

Overall, the music was a great eclectic mix to showcase talented women. I wish there didn't have to be so much down time between acts, i think it really ruins the level of energy and excitement. Sarah McLachlan is one of my favorite artists and I was most excited to see her live. That being said, her level of energy would've been better at the beginning of the main stage acts. Sheryl Crow and Sugarland were phenomenal and had great energy. When Sarah hit the stage, the feeling was sleepy and subdued. It was unbelievable how many open seats there were. in the five rows in front of us, there were maybe 30 people. The Amphitheater was extremely unorganized. We waited in line at the premiere parking gate to find out they weren't opening until 5:30pm (tickets said 2:30). As soon as we left the line, we were told by another staff member that it would open on time. Same thing happened with the people checking tickets at the doors of the reserved seating. I only showed my ticket once to a staff member and it was soon after the main stage acts opened, which meant there were a lot of people from the lawn area sneaking down into the seats because no one was checking. The staff in the food areas seemed untrained in their jobs and very uncertain about what they were supposed to be doing. I was served the wrong beer initially and didn't receive correct change. Overall, it was a show worth seeing and was enjoyable. But it definitely could've been better, and for that reason, was a bit disappointing.

  • Lilith was great

by TT13 on 7/3/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 5 out of 5

Almost everything was great! We couldn't find a schedule, but once we found one it was great. The only real complaint was Eryka Badu she was forty minutes late and then only played three songs. Sheryl Crow, Sugarland, A Fine Frenzy and Sarah McLachlan were absolutely fantastic!! Great Show!!

  • Sugarland - best performance we have EVER seen

by Bubangelo on 7/3/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 5 out of 5

My wife and I have been to over fifty concerts combined, including The Eagles, Elton John, Sting, CSN, Pink Floyd, Moody Blues and many others delivering great music and energy. NONE of them compared to the performance of SUGARLAND this night. I went into the five-act concert anticipating I would struggle to get through this "country" band. Instead, I was blown away by this extraordinary ROCK band that happens to have a powerful lead female who belts it out and engages the audience in a country style. Their upcoming "The Incredible Machine" CD is bound to win them more Grammys. If not, it will be a travesty. Oh, Sheryl Crow, Sarah McLachlan and Colbie Caillat were also terrific, but Erika Badu, who is admittedly talented, was a challenge to get beyond her ego and accept that she only offerred four songs. Despite a large and very talented supporting ensemble, she was off the stage in under 30 minutes.

  • Disappointment

by definethegreatline on 7/3/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 2 out of 5

Not only was the lineup ultimately a disappointment, but the wait in between the acts was unnecessary. The set up did not require the time they allowed, so we felt ourselves contemplating leaving plenty of times. The security was weak. The rules only applied to some, and not to all. I am not a big nag about that kind of stuff, but it felt unfair. One of the tickets were purchased for the band "Tegan and Sara" who appeared to be on the tour but ended up not being on the line-up. Finally, it was just a disappointment and a waste of good money.

  • Lilith Rocks

Lilith was amazing. I appreciated the shout outs to the Y chromes too!

  • Danced the whole time

by Barbequeb on 7/3/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 5 out of 5

We had a great time. We arrived early and staked out our place on the grass. The weather started out nice and then there was a nice light summer rain. The sun came out and we kept dancing through all of it. I'd never seen any of the artists and I missed Lilith Fair ten years ago so I was excited. Everyone was great. We were having so much fun one of the promotion people gave us comp tickets in the twelfth row. We moved down just as Sheryl Crow started playing and she was great. Her band rocks. And she has great legs, WOW. I'd never heard Sugarland before and they were fun, simple, kind of raunchy and they kept us on our feet for their performance. It was cool when Sheryl Crow and one of her singers came out and starting singing back up and dancing during one of the songs. They were having so much fun it was contagious. We started singing and dancing with Colbie Caillat and didn't sit down for more than ten minutes all day. Erykah Badu was cool. Sheryl Crow rocked. Sugarland was raunchy good fun. Sarah McLachlan was soothing and sweet. Sheryl Crows guitar player sat in with Sarah's band. It was a great show.

  • by dmc22 on 7/3/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 5 out of 5

Fabulous show with a great range of artists and genres. It was wonderful to see so many female artists in a single venue! The side stages were great for seeing a few of the artists up close. And watching the main stage was a blast no matter who was playing. All the artists did a stellar job of connecting with the audience, even with the audience members who weren't familiar with their music. The showmanship was certainly something to behold.

  • Lilith is not a "concert"...

by jenjen39 on 7/3/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 5 out of 5

...it's a once (or more if you are lucky) in a life time experience. The music, the artists, the "feel" is incomparable. From the moment you arrive you notice a different vibe than most events. People are friendly, outgoing, and GENERUOUS beyond belief. From helping one another find the venue and parking, to offering jackets to help strangers escape the sudden downpour of good old Oregon Sunshine. The 10 year wait for Lilith to return was long, but SO worth it. I was fortunate enough to score 4th row seats on Ticketmaster the NIGHT before the show. And if I could, I would drop my life, buy a Mini-Wini and follow Lilith everywhere! What an amazing experience!

  • Timing is everything!

by savewolf on 7/3/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 4 out of 5

There was no way to know how long the concert was going to be. The ticket said it opened at 2:30 p.m. We were there at that time, and we were in shock when we found out that Sarah M. was not going to be on until 10:00 p.m. Although we like some of the other performers, she is the reason we went. We heard other people talking about the same thing. It's called communication. We thought we would be home around 7 p.m. or so, and had to make emergency calls for someone to rescue our dog. With the traffic and all we got home at 12:30 a.m. I call that a long concert!

  • sarah mclachlan is FABULOUS!!!

by greatbaker426 on 7/3/10Sleep Country Amphitheater (Amph at Clark County) - RidgefieldRating: 5 out of 5

The ENTERTAINERS were WONDERFUL!! Without a doubt!! Would go back to see them any time. The facilities were sub-par. Very unorganized. My tickets said 2:30 but I could not get to my SEAT until hours later. I was left to stand out in the pouring rain--gotta love the Pacific Northwest--until they opened the covered reserved seats. Thank goodness for the vendors, especially CRYSTAL LIGHT as I could get some respite from the rain under their tents.
