Santana in Concert
Few musicians in the history of American popular music inspire the same reverence as Carlos Santana. For more than four decades, he has been one of the music world's most distinctive and exciting guitarists, maintaining his reputation as an artist who continues to revolutionize the form.
Long before listeners knew terms like "fusion" and "world music," Santana was already a master who blended genres and traditions into a sound that was all his own. It's no wonder the young guitarist generated so much excitement as a foremost member of the Bay Area's fertile music community of the late 1960s.
With the release of his debut album Santana and an incendiary set at Woodstock in 1969, Santana established himself as one of the key artists of the era, gaining worldwide fame for his band's combination of Latin, jazz, blues, rock, and R&B. The new star proved his staying power when Santana remained on the Billboard charts and successors Abraxas and Santana III both reached No. 1.
In 1998, Santana was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In addition to racking up career sales of more than 100 million records, he earned another spot in history books when Supernatural — the multiplatinum 1999 album that included such hits as "Smooth" and "Maria Maria" — won nine Grammy Awards, tying the record for most wins by a single project.
In 2014, he published his best-selling memoir, The Universal Tone: Bringing My Story to Light. Among his recent musical endeavors has been Santana IV, a thrilling album that saw him reunite with musicians from his band's early-‘70s lineup; and Power of Peace, a deeply soulful collaboration with The Isley Brothers.
Santana returned with more new music in 2019. In Search of Mona Lisa is an EP featuring three instrumentals inspired by the awe he felt the first time he saw Leonardo da Vinci's painting during a visit to the Louvre. Santana continues to inspire the same reaction at shows by the current incarnation of the band that bears his name. His team of first-tier players includes drummer Cindy Blackman Santana (Lenny Kravitz, Pharoah Sanders), bassist Benny Rietveld (Miles Davis, Sheila E.), keyboardist David K. Mathews (Tower of Power, Etta James), and percussionist Karl Perazzo (Mariah Carey, Tito Puente).
Santana on Tour
Grammy Award-winning, legendary artists Carlos Santana and Earth, Wind & Fire embark on a North American tour. A continuation of 2019's Supernatural Now tour for Santana, the Miraculous Supernatural 2020 Tour marks the first time these two powerhouses share the stage in the U.S. The Live Nation-produced outing kicks off June 19th in San Diego and makes stops in Los Angeles, Dallas, New York, Chicago, Toronto, and more before wrapping August 29th in Tampa.
Santana, and his band (which also features Santana's wife, Cindy Blackman Santana) highlight songs from both his Supernatural and Woodstock eras, as well as newer tracks from his 2019 full-length album Africa Speaks and some incredible surprises. Earth, Wind & Fire is one of music's most celebrated musical forces in history with an iconic music catalog that has been the soundtrack of millions of lives around the world.
In 2019, Santana celebrated the 20th anniversary of his revolutionary, multiple Grammy Award-wining album Supernatural, along with the 50th anniversary of his Woodstock performance. Santana's 1999 album Supernatural featured the back-to-back No. 1 singles "Smooth" and "Maria Maria" and sold over 30 million copies worldwide, topping the charts in over a dozen countries and sweeping the 2000 Grammy Awards.

As usual Santana rocked the place. Steve Winwood was also amazing. What a guitar solo!!!!!!!!
I really enjoyed Santana, the music and lighting was spectacular. "Black Majic Woman" and "Oye Como Va" was the highlight of the show for me. Steve Winwood was good too but was disappointed he did not play "Roll with It". My favorite was "Gimme Some Lovin" that also got the crowd going and wanting more.
Was even better than we anticipated. Only dissapointment was the end. Thye turned the volume up way to much. The sound was great till the end and then became distorted due turning up just a bit to much. Other than that it was great.
Had an excellent time...!!!! Tickets were a birthday gift for a family member and she loved it even more...!!! Great seats in section 2
We saw Santana in Las Vegas in February and the show this time was just as good as the first time. Steve Winwood was an added surprise and a good one. Crowd was a little rowdy as compared to Vegas, but the show was still enjoyable.
Absolutely awsome performance!! Artistry of band members was exceptional.
the man seems eternally young and energetic. he seems to love what he does . he is the guitar!! and he doesnt mind sharing the spotlight with the other members of the band. also the sound system at excel energy center is great. i thought it was pretty cool that he tossed in a few rifts from jimi, the doors, and even a little pink panther.
SANNTANA NEVER LETS DOWN. HE IS THE AGELESS WONDER AND CONTINUES TO ENTERTAIN PEOPLE OF ALL AGES. THIS IS A MUST SEE CONCERT . PUT THIS ONE ON YOUR BUCKET LIST.
Very good show with non stop music. Stevie Winwood is ageless and performed some of his greats. Carlos Santana showcased the amamzing talent of his group. Could not help but dance.
This was an amazing show, Carlos is unbelievable on the guitar! First time at Milwaukee Summerfest for my wife and I, loved all the entertainment going on, but the Santana concert rocked! The sound quality was spectacular, the videos and lights were great! Carlos put together a great band and performance, I'm glad we went and would highly recommend it to everyone. The bongo and drum solos really added to the overall quality of the show. If you get a chance to see Carlos Santana don't miss it!!!
What an amazing evening! Starting out with Steve Winwood the night just continued to build. Classics with a new twist, long intense and intricate jams, dancing all night. LOVED IT!! Thank you Steve. Thank you Carlos.
Have spent a bunch of money over the years to see many live acts - this night on Lake Michigan's shore was the best performance I can recall! The only concert that can compare was Zeppelin (Twin Cities) back in the mid-seventies! Great sound, lighting and brilliant delivery - inspired musical performance! Thank you, Carlos Santana and company!
This concert was outstanding. The first hour Steve Winwood rocked the house. They sounded better than I ever remember or expected.. I loved the music, the singing, the entire show. Santana was unbelievable. I loved the music, the special effects, the songs, the crowd, the people. I loved Carlos inspiration. Their entire heart and soul and passion were present. Loved every single minute of it. I felt it was well worth the money and I hope that both Steve Winwood and Santana will play again in Milwaukee soon. Amazing, Excellent, Outstanding.
Carlos was Carlos, a timeless master of his craft. Steve Winwood was equally inspiring.
good show and they kept the beat going well. light show could have been improved on though. anyway you could get rubber inserts for those metal benches as they're pretty hard on boney arses! :)
It was great hearing the old favorites. The video of Santana's younger years playing in the background was superb. The encore left a bit to be desired as far as the sound....not sure what happened by it was raspy rather than crisp and at times the instruments drowned out the singing. Overall I was glad I finally saw him live.
One of the greatest guitar players ever! and everytime he picks up his guitar, or opens up his mouth, he leaves a very profound message........hope you can you hear it? If you're ever blessed with attending a Santana concert, listen for the message. If you don't hear the message, then you really don't hear the music!! Peace and Blessings, JMU.
Steve Windoow and his band was outstanding. Played a good many tracks from his Traffic days. Santana was forgetable. Too loud and over modulated. At times just sounded like noise. He should invest in a better person doing his mixing.
Carlos and the guys were awesome!!! They played some old favorites and some new stuff. Everybody was on their feet and dancing or at least moving to the music. It was definitely worth the money we spent!
I and my 27ish children loved Santana and Steve Winwood. We didn't know that Winwood had so many memorable songs, but the real showstopper was the Santana band. Carlos was wonderful, and the drummer had a very impressive solo with every limb doing something different, eyes closed, chewing gum.
