  • Excellence in every way ‼️🤩

by Lynda D. on 12/20/23Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

Truly love and admire this lovely young woman/artist, Samara Joy! 🤩It was an extra gift to see and hear her Dad (play the bass and sing), Uncle and cousins(female and male) as well as her accompanying musicians (drums and pianist) showcase their gifts as well!😲 I will intentionally support her future endeavors and showcases! 💯 What a sincere blessing her Holiday Concert was to the added bonus it allowed me to experience my first long distance train travel to New Orleans from Chicago. It was a bucket list desire fulfilled with excellence!🙌🏽

  • Solo Artist Needs No Extras

by VirtualFan on 12/20/23Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 4 out of 5

Ms. Joy has a powerful voice that is reminiscent of the "queens of 30's and 40's jazz, blues and R&B."Her intonations are very effective. She is at her best when she is in this mode. Her band provided appropriate accompaniment. I was not impressed by the inclusion of her family members. They were good, but unnecessary and detracted from allowing Ms. Joy to show off more of her talent.

  • Beautiful voice but not a gray show

by Soul Lady on 12/19/23Rating: 3 out of 5

I couldn’t wait to hear Samara since amazing Christmas song. I thought the show would be a kinda of Eartha Kitt, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald kind of Christmas. Instead, we received more gospel Christmas music than standard Christmas tunes (she did sing a song from Nat King Cole). People on my row were a bit confused. If we wanted to hear gospel music, we would have went to church for free.

  • Pure Joy

by Best Holiday concert ever on 12/17/23The Factory - St. LouisRating: 5 out of 5

This was my second time this year seeing Ms. Samara Joy. What a pleasure yo find out that she comes from a musical family, everyone could sing. Brian Owens and his father was great too. It was my first time at the venue The Factory. What a great venue the sound was amazing, and the seats were comfortable.

OMG, Samara Joy was awesome. Her voice and her voice is absolutely amazing. A must see new talent. As a matter of fact, her dad, cousins can all just outright SANG. Beautiful personality as well.

  • Amazing

by DeeCee on 12/16/23The Factory - St. LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Samara Joy has the most amazing voice I've ever heard! It's a soulful Nancy Wilson with Mariah Carey range. Simply amazing!

  • Loved Samara, and her family was OK

by Duggie on 12/15/23The Factory - St. LouisRating: 3 out of 5

Samara Joy was even more enthralling than her videos and recordings. However, too much of the show was actually her family, who were OK, but not what I paid to see and hear. And, as a Christian myself, I’ll have to say that I’m getting really tired of Christians turning such events into opportunities to preach and proselytize. That aspect of the show sort of soured me on Samara, who is one of the bright stars in jazz these days.

by Landor on 12/15/23The Factory - St. LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Samara Joy and her family created a joyful evening of family music centered on the holiday. The final presentation engaged the audience - singing and laughter. Naturally, Ms. Samara shared her solos which made her famous. The deep richness of her voice was heavenly and the live music filled the heart.

  • Soulful, magnificent Christmas concert

by Chyrel on 12/15/23The Factory - St. LouisRating: 5 out of 5

My family and friends thoroughly enjoyed the Samara Joy Christmas Concert featuring the McClendons. We think that Samara is extremely talented and gifted. We LOVED the combination of R&B and gospel music. Christmas is such a special time of the year and as a family we enjoyed listening to Samara and her family sing together. We definitely plan on attending more of her concerts in the future. We sincerely appreciate that she took the time to feature our friend, Shedrick Mitchell! My only regret is that I didn't get in line early enough to purchase a Samara Joy Christmas CD. We pray God's continual blessings on her career.

  • Sweet Samara

by JimM on 12/15/23The Factory - St. LouisRating: 5 out of 5

This was the second time we have seen Samara Joy, Detroit in March and StL in December. She is a delight to hear and watch. Besides a beautiful voice, she is beautiful as a person. We hope she has a long life and career.

  • Outstanding

by DuSable on 12/15/23The Factory - St. LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Samara was engaging and her delivery of her musical renditions was even better than I had imagined. I’m not a fan of holiday songs, but, she and her amazing family delivered a tour de force performance with their holiday/gospel and jazz mixes. We traveled from Chicago in anticipation of what we witnessed, HAPPINESS!
