  • Not what I hoped Sam would address

by Jean on 10/18/25Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5

It was long and tedious to just hear Sam complain about the state of the world, especially when his beautiful website on meditation (and generally about life) which has so much love and positivity. I’d hope to hear him focus on that as opposed to griping about things that one can hear on MSNBC all the time. I found it a waste of time and money.

  • Connected the dots

by Molly on 9/14/25Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Same spoke for about 100 minutes. It was so interesting and relevant it seemed as though only 20 minutes elapsed. He covered everything relevant in the world we live in today and touch upon our History in the world and explained how things were connected. He spoke about the chaos we are experiencing in the world right now, and how the current government is leading us down a perilous path. He spoke of influencers and podcasters and how their influence can change the outcome of our world. Most of all he had suggestions we can follow in our everyday lives to change things for the better. I wish he would do more of these dates, I would go once a month just to month just to feel better. Please book more dates Sam

  • Sam Harris in the flesh

by Phil on 9/14/25San Jose Center for the Performing Arts - San JoseRating: 5 out of 5

I am a Sam Harris Podcast member. I appreciate his podcasts because he has quality guests. They discuss pertinent issues and subjects that interest me. Harris is not one dimensional. It is difficult for me to put him in a box that I can label. I appreciated seeing Sam Harris in person in San Jose. He spoke for about 2 hours. Some of the subjects were familiar to me from listening to the Podcast. There is a different feeling listening to him in person. It is more intimate. I hoped he would take questions but the large audience made that impractical. I hope to see Sam Harris in settings like this, perhaps with a guest, in the future.

  • Funnier than expected

Sam was his usual reasoned, articulate self but funnier than expected. His talk kept my attention throughout.

  • Overpriced but great thinking

by Socrates on 9/14/25San Jose Center for the Performing Arts - San JoseRating: 3 out of 5

Listened to Sam Harris's Truth and Consequences lecture in San Jose. In the last 12-13 years that I followed Sam's work, this lecture is certainly one of the thoughtful ones. The points he raised were urgent, important. It provokes you to think who you are and what you stand for. None of his points were unknown if you followed him. The event at $100 is definitely overpriced.

  • Mostly a rehash of the podcast content

by Bayarea on 9/14/25San Jose Center for the Performing Arts - San JoseRating: 3 out of 5

Overall a good talk. Most of the perspectives had been discussed in prior podcasts. The format was a 90 minute lecture. Would have benefited in my opinion from altering formats. Perhaps some q&a or another voice on stage.

  • Excellent Event

    by T. Anderson on 9/14/25Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

I was pleasantly surprised that I was not the only lover of Sam Harris in Seattle. What a great lecture by a man who just makes sense. Clear, precise, humorous and even more enjoyable in person. The crowd was on the edge of every sentence. Hope he comes back again.

  • Not what I hoped for

by Sue on 9/13/25Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 3 out of 5

I love the Waking Up app and Sam Harris. These tickets were very expensive, especially seats close to the speaker. I wish the Q&A portion, that was promised, would not have been dropped. I appreciate Sam's view of what is happening in the world, but most of it was information I already knew and feel frustrated with daily. Sam said he was going to take us out of the dark place he took us to. He did not give enough time to take us out. I give climate change presentations and this felt like a bad climate change presentation. I was talked at for 2 hours, no Q&A, and all I heard was the devestating reality of a huge problem that takes our society's buy in to change. Then, being left in the hopeless black morass without any direction out. What I was hoping for was hearing how Sam's meditation practice helps him in these dark times, with specific examples. Also, Q & A to ask and hear questions about meditation experiences.

  • Harris and Harari were spectacular

by JNEEXC on 9/16/18The Masonic - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

The evening surpassed our expectations with Harari providing a glimpse into the future as he sees it and gave us all good advice on what to look for and how to behave to bring about positive change. Great evening!

  • Excellent conversation between two great minds!

Mind opening discussion about humanity's current and future problems and potential actions to take.

I've seen Sam on Broadway and also recently when he was in Provincetown. If you're wondering what to spend your live show money on I have one name: SAM HARRIS. It doesn't get any better. The voice is unmatchable but even on top of that, he is the consummate performer. I can't wait to read his new book and I will be seeing this show for sure.
