A great, thought provoking evening.
by Remy on 10/19/25Boch Center Shubert Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5I've been a long time listener / reader of Sam Harris' work. I thoroughly enjoyed the Truth and Consequences speaking engagement. Sam was engaging, thoughtful, and genuinely funny (i was pleasantly surprised at a higher-than-average injection of his characteristic dry wit, despite some very weighty topics). Sam mostly stayed on current events and politics, but did spend some time in cognition and even a short meditative exercise about living in the present, rather than being stuck in the past or always looking to the future's horizon. While the entire talk was great, this was probably the most impactful moment of the night, and what really stayed with me. The present is all we have in this life, no matter what ever else our perceptions might tell us. So live fully in it.
I know Harris can be thought of as controversial, but I find him engaging and thought provoking.
It was a great evening, my first time seeing him live, and I will definitely go to see him speak or debate again in person if he comes around the northeast again.
I also really enjoyed the invocation of Christopher Hitchens during his speech.
