DRA & the Cardinals Always Great Live

    by Biking Viking on 8/8/23

Ryan Adams & the cardinals always put on a great show. He gives every show good local props, so the show at Santander Arena had lots of fun regarding playing in a hockey arena. The sound was fantastic considering the venue. Ryan's song writing & ad lib musicianship comes through in his excellent songs.

One of the best shows I’ve ever seen

    by Jim Tat on 8/7/23

From the opening song Cold Roses to the last song of the night, I was completely blown away and hooked on every note. The Cardinals were flawless and complemented each other to perfection. I’m 70 years old and saw some pretty great bands back in the day. Today Ryan is the one show that doesn’t disappoint. I hope the band continues to perform together for a long time. I only wish they did an encore. I didn’t want the music to end!!!!

    Ryan Adams and The Cardinals

    by Greengrl7 on 8/7/23

Ryan and The Cardinals were perfection. Their harmonizing and LIVE instruments rocked the crowd for 3 hours. They’re the best live performers my husband and I have seen!

Worst time I’ve had at a show

by Fan of 25+ years on 8/5/23

I don’t think Ryan cared about the audience at all. He and the band jammed the whole night, but it was a self aggrandizing time of only guitar and barely any lyrical interludes. I’ve never left a show early and especially a Tuan Adams show, but this was HORRIBLE. Ryan’s voice and the band are what we’re here to see. Adam, worst show ever and I absolutely hate saying that. His solo shows were amazing.

Ryan Adams performance at Blue Stone.

    by Kenny. on 8/4/23

I love his music, but this performance was the worst of any concert l have ever experienced. I know that concerts are not set up to just play the artist list of songs, but this felt like a hatahr band practice, gone bad

Ryan has turned into a jam band 🤮

    by Andyman on 8/4/23

I’ve see Ryan 5 times, I’m used to him talking down to the crowd, admonishing them for be too loud, just being an overall diva. What I couldn’t stand was only playing 5-6 songs in the first hour and becoming a jam band. 5-15 minute solos for every song, just a miserable experience…if I wanted to see a jam band I would have gone to see phish or a dead cover band…

Not the best show I've seen.

    by bsto74 on 8/4/23

I'm a fan of Ryan Adams music, but overall the concert was just ok. His voice and guitar playing is definitely incredible, but I'm not a fan of going to concerts and hearing the artist jam out to the same song for over 20 minutes. We were over an hour into the show and I think he was only on song 5. Some people really enjoy that, but I don't and that's just my preference... The show started around 8:00 and we ended up leaving around 9:00/9:15 because everyone was bored hearing 10 to 15 minute guitar solos. If you want to hear Ryan Adams and the Cardinals jam out on a couple songs for an hour, then this is a good show for you to see. If not, then I would skip it.

Didn’t realize they were a jam band

    by Mark on 8/4/23

I guess if you want Ryan Adams’ solo stuff and when he was with Whiskeytown, you have to see him solo or at least without the Cardinals. Disappointed.

    Complete Disappointment

by JR on 6/25/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

My wife and I are long-time fans of Ryan Adams. While fully capable of rocking out, Ryan's music is generally melodic, musically interesting, and memorable. This, however, was an atrocious performance that was dissonant, grating, and overly loud given the 1100 seat venue. The songs were 10 to 15 minute run-ons that were unrecognizable, and he did not interact with or acknowledge the audience. The opening act Ruby Force was far better. My wife and I left the show after about 50 minutes of Ryan's "performance", as did many other attendees. What a waste of our time and money!!!

    Selfish

by David on 6/18/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

Follow Ryan for a long time and was my first time and probably last attending his concert. Ryans spent the entire concert performing to his band and not the public. He could have staid at his garage with his band and saved us from this weak performance.

    Big disappointment Ryan Adams

by Adele on 6/18/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

There was a 32 min opening instrumental song. One quarter of the concert length, was virtually unidentifiable music. Several of the remaining songs were covers of other bands. The band stood in a bizarre semi circle so you couldn't actually see any of the bandmembers nor instruments. We had 4th row seats and couldn't see anything despite being in the centre. People further back and to the sides would have seen nothing at all. Add to this the thick dry ice smoke effect and even that close you could barely make out figures on stage. We had upgraded our package at the theatre that night to get the most of the evening and instead it was a complete disappointment. Been a fan for 2 decades and nothing about this event was as the concert I was expecting to see. I've seen him perform several times previously and this seemed like he just didn't want to be there, didn't care about the fans that came to see him and hear his music and did his best to make sure they heard virtually none of his extensive music catalogue. I honestly would like our money back. He should not have been paid for this show. The evening I was looking forward to for weeks was ruined

    Powerful.

by Will on 6/18/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

What a surprise. Ryan and his band went on a wild ride of hard edged rock and roll that definitely pushed the envelope of the songs he played. Frankenstein Taco 🌮 for sure. Literally blew the roof off with intense jam band interpretations of the material.

Talented Ryan Adams and the tight Cardinals

by Zakes on 6/18/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

2nd night of a two night-stand for Ryan Adams in Ft. Lauderdale. Small crowd, but the band played two hours and seriously stretched out their musician muscles with some serious jams by a talented bunch including Don Was on bass and Chris Stills (Stephen's son) on lead and rhythm guitar. Ryan is an underrated guitar player as well. Left out a few good songs and rarely interacted with the crowd, kept the lights down low and the band faced each other. Didn't matter and Ryan doesn't care as he is such a talent. Reminds me of Van Morrison or Bob Dylan from the perspective of not attempting to please the crowd. We witnessed greatness though from this version of Ryan & the Cardinals.

    He's learned nothing

by Keith C on 6/18/23Saenger Theatre New Orleans - New Orleans

This show was a self-indulgent display of narcissism that clearly shows he's learned nothing over these past few years. I'm a long time fan of his music but this was just a childish display of showing everyone that its still only about him and had nothing to do with the audience: stage completely darkened so we couldnt see anyone performing, he faced the side of the stage the entire show, and never acknowledged the audience other that to shush them when they yelled adulation to him. Worst of all, the 2 hour show consisted almost exclusively of 20 min extended guitar-heavy versions of his songs that removed most of the melodic aspects of the work. "Lets play my old songs but pretend we're Radiohead". Ridiculous. I'm done with him live.

Love Ryan but jam’s went on too long

by Keith on 6/18/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

Ryan could have delivered a strong show but instead went for long drawn out jams. I love jam bands but this was just too self indulgent

    Ryan Adams at the parker

by Michael S on 6/18/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

I have been wanting to see Ryan Adams for years and when I saw he was in town, i jumped at the opportunity. What I saw was nothing of what I expected. First, I was disappointed in the stage set up. The band was facing each other and played in the dark. I would have liked to seen their faces during the show, and I was in the fifth and sixth rows for both show. The crowd was very light both nights, but the band played like it was a sold out show. Next, the band had no alt country sound as on the records. But I was good with that. The show was a mix of jam band/rock sound. It was like a mix of the dead, neil young and phish with Cardinals songs. The first song on the first night, Peaceful Valley, clocked in at 32 min. I loved it, but others were not impressed . Ryan’s banter with the crowd the first night was a bit funnier & more sarcastic then the second night. He seemed happy to be on stage performing . The band was very tight with Chris Stills and Don Was on guitar and bass respectively. Loved Beautiful Sorta and Magnolia Mountain day one. The second show was better then the first. Opening with Cold Roses and ending with a slowed down version of Let it Ride were amazing. No encores, just two hours of great music each night. Ryan Adams, regardless of what happened four years ago, is one of those artists you MUST see. He is still one of the best. Thanks for putting on an amazing show in such an intimate venue.
