A very amazing show. Ryan Adams is superb and in his element when it is an intimate show like these. His banter with the audience is amusing

    Ryan Adams

by Mrsmase on 10/20/11Balboa Theatre - San Diego

OMG....never saw him before. He was amazing. His sound pierced my soul. I don't even know how to describe it. It was so deep. His talent is beyond words. Some may have wanted a faster pace than what the night held. And some should have stayed seated in respect for his performance. I'm 57 and he reminds me of a current Bob Dylan. You could hear a pin drop it was so quiet. Awesome musician!!!

Ryan was great, the audience sucked

by ISeeMonsters on 10/17/11Uptown Theatre Napa - Napa

Great show, full of soul. the audience yelled things out and got up to go potty or ? many times throughout. It must have been like playing for those who have ears but cannot hear. Sorry Ryan.

    Rudest Audience on the planet

by Anonymous on 10/17/11Uptown Theatre Napa - Napa

Ryan Adams was wonderful, but the audience ruined the show. First of all the usher didn't have her glasses so she couldn't direct us to the seats. Then, the person helping her was just as bad. The audience was constantly up and down, talking all around. I will never return to the uptown.

    Uptown is the place

by TomHiggins on 10/17/11Uptown Theatre Napa - Napa

I saw the show at the Uptown in Napa on Saturday and thought it was excellent! The range of songs that were played spanned almost the last decade of RA's solo work. Really nice to see him so sharp and clean. His banter with the crowd is so much better when you can understand him. Best for many more years.

    Ryan in Top Form.

by SFDB on 10/17/11Uptown Theatre Napa - Napa

I went to the Big Sur show and that was transcendent. There was a much different energy at the Sonoma show. Ryan's intimate songs clashed a little with the roudy Saturday night crowd, and he seemed like he had to fight to be heard. The music was epic all the same. Amazing venue!

    Ryan, he is a master.

by jahsocky on 10/17/11Uptown Theatre Napa - Napa

I had seen him solo before, many years ago. He was high as a kite, the performance was amazing and he was hilarious. I wasn't sure he could be as much fun sober but he was! He was incredible, his voice like an angel and the Uptown was the perfect venue for such a classy show. I feel so lucky!

Ryan has become a nostalgia act... poor showing

by MysterT on 10/17/11Uptown Theatre Napa - Napa

Saw him in SF the night before... played nearly the exact same show the next night. Little energy. Left after 8 songs.

    Best show hands down.

by AmyRipp on 10/16/11Balboa Theatre - San Diego

I had never seen Ryan Adams live so I wasn't really sure what to expect. He blew me away. It was just him with his guitar/piano and harmonica on stage. I really wish he would release an acoustic album because I preferred the sound of everything he played compared to the studio recordings. Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt.

Ryan Adams melted faces @ The Balboa Theater

by Swampy1 on 10/13/11Balboa Theatre - San Diego

We drove from LA to San Diego to see Dr Adams and it was worth every second! He rules, the show ruled, his voice and playing was amazing...as always...everyone else should take lessons. This show is in my top 5 shows of all times and 2 of the other slots are also occupied by Ryan...and I go to A LOT of shows. Thanks for a perfect evening Ryan. We can't wait for you to come back. We will be there!

    Greatest!!!

by Soli80 on 10/13/11Balboa Theatre - San Diego

It was an awsome show, but I just wanted to sing outloud but you couldnt cause it was so quiet. I love just listening to Ryan sing, it sounds beautiful, but that "i want to sing with him outloud" element was missing.

Your face is ringing (you'd better pick it up)

by Jdollarsign on 10/13/11Balboa Theatre - San Diego

Other than the fact that it's been near impossible to get tickets to any of the 3 Southern California shows, I counted myself lucky to be able to be at the Balboa theatre. Ryan went through his extensive back catalog, "playing the hits" as well as some lesser known gems like "Blue Hotel" and some old Whiskeytown stuff ("Houses on the Hill!") before finishing with everyone and their mother's favorite, "Come Pick Me Up". The crowd was mostly respectful except for when they were obnoxious. The sound at the theatre was miserable for the opener Jason Isbell (who put on a great opening act in my humble opinion) so I got a bit concerned, but by the time Ryan was on stage, it was gravy. Oh, and just - so you know - Ryan's voice was killer, his guitar playing radical and his bedside manner was rather charming. By far the best spirits I've ever seen him in.

    Ryan Adams was PHENOMENAL!

by Ammz on 9/19/11Denver Civic Theatre - Denver

This was one of my favorite shows yet. Loved that it was just him doing acoustic and the piano. It reminded me of hanging out with friends during band practice, some of my favorite times. It was personal and he was interacting with the audience. Ryan grabbed everyones attention, the minute he started playing songs the audience was mezmorized. He is funny, charming, and just on point. Played some of my favorite songs, and i loved the new ones. His voice is so beautiful, sounded like we were listening to an album...amazing! Such a talented individual Ryan is. LOVE LOVED IT!!!!

    intimate and special show

by iheartRyan on 9/19/11Denver Civic Theatre - Denver

Ryan alone with a guitar and piano. He sang softly but clearly and you could hear every word and note. The crowd was silent and respectful. Ryan was funny and sweet. This is on my list for top 5 shows of a lifetime!

A Ryan Adams Fan's Dream Show

by AnsweringBell on 9/17/11Denver Civic Theatre - Denver

I am a huge DRA fan and have seen him five times, but never like this. Stripped down to the bare essentials, an acoustic guitar, a piano, a song book and Ryan's voice, his talent was unencumbered. Truly the greatest song writer of this generation, he pleased his greatest fans in this tiny venue by playing new unreleased music as well as music dating back to Whiskeytown. Ryan opened with Oh My Sweet Carolina and I instantly knew I was so fortunate to be present. He sang and played beautifully, was charming and witty. It is an experience I will not soon forget.

    Best I've Ever Seen

by mloula on 9/17/11Denver Civic Theatre - Denver

Honestly, this was the best show I've ever seen. For longtime, devoted fans, it was such a treat to see Ryan in such a small, intimate setting among people who obviously respected and knew his music well. Absolutely amazing. I'm still a little shocked that it happened.

    Can't get enough.

by Anonymous on 4/18/11Marin Center - San Rafael?

I'd love it if the band would engage the audience even a little, but I still won't miss a show.
