RuPaul's Drag Race on Tour
Even beamed into people's living rooms through their TVs, RuPaul's Drag Race is one of the biggest and most fabulous shows on Earth — it was only a matter of time before its cavalcade of queens ended up in Las Vegas. Specifically, they took up residence at the Flamingo, in a room that for more than a decade hosted the Donny & Marie variety show. A far more colorful and extremely ambitious production, RuPaul's Drag Race LIVE! involves big dance numbers, wild wardrobe changes, all-star catwalk crawls, vicious lip-sync battles and, well, a "bitch-slap" competition that calls for audience involvement. The mission is to make fans feel like they're in the middle of an interactive episode taping — a rotating cast of beloved queens previously seen on the show partakes in a series of challenges, performances and face-offs. The crowd determines a winner via the Clap-O-Meter, an outsize applause measurement device made to look like big lips and a giant tongue. The choreography comes from longtime Ru pal Jamal Sims (Step Up, the Oscars, live-action Aladdin) and is set to tunes previously heard on the series (think Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Britney Spears) as well as new original music from RuPaul, producer Leland and Tom Campbell. Meanwhile, the vibrant and often delightfully absurd sets transport viewers to a veritable wonderland of neon sass.
RuPaul's Drag Race in Concert
RuPaul's Drag Race debuted on Logo TV in 2009 and became an instant hit. It didn't hurt that the show's host, mentor and head judge was already the most famous and beloved drag queen the world had ever known, but the series quickly demonstrated its power to captivate audiences of all backgrounds and launch incredibly colorful new stars. By the time it kicked off its 12th season in 2020, the reality competition series had been nominated for 23 Emmys and won nine, not to mention increased awareness and (rabid) appreciation of drag culture, as well as gifted unto the world such truly inspired queens as Trixie Mattel, Bianca Del Rio and Alaska Thunderf*ck 5000. In 2017, RuPaul's Drag Race leapt to VH1 and also off of the screen via the Werq the World tour. That larger-than-life spectacle proved to be a hit, running for years and also paving the way for RuPaul's Drag Race LIVE! in Las Vegas, starring show alumni Yvie Oddly, Aquaria, Asia O'Hara, Derrick Barry, the Pit Crew and many more.
Honestly the venue and tech team seemed to be the problem. The performers were funny and on point. But the constant microphone issues, lighting that left us literally in the dark, and a camera operator that obviously needed training. I'm sure the show was great but we couldn't hear or see it. Left disappointed.
I appreciate that now we have a more of different skills – not only lip sync. Though the lip sync was still 80% of it. And I think it needs to go deeper on other areas, impersonations, comedy, tech props, circus, acting, whatever else. Being my 3rd year watching it, the lip syncs are nice and, for the most part, well executed, but for 2 hours it gets very predictable and repetitive.
It was a great show with very talented queens. It was pretty funny and the costumes and back up dancers were great! The lady gaga tribute was on point and so well done. Great show all in all.
Great show. Asia is an awesome hostess and the queens all came ready to entertain! The dancers were phenomenal as well. Make the effort to see these talented queens sooner rather than later.
The show itself is a fun treat, but in this specific case, me and my party were so incredibly disappointed, to say the least. Myself and my party flew in from across the US to see a specific queen, Marina Summers, as we wanted to support this international queen from across the globe during her brief time in the Drag Race Live show in Vegas. As advertised across the Drag Race Live, Voss Events, and other official pages, "Marina For One Month Only This August!"There were no asterisks or notes as to a date Marina was out of the show, so me and my party planned months ago a date early in her run for a trip to Las Vegas. We were horrified when the show's introductions were happening to realize, Marina was NOT in the show that evening, at the start of her second week in August. We had spent money in advance on flights, hotel, etc., let alone the tickets AND the Meet & Greet add-on, only to find out that the one person we did this all for, who was supposed to be on as advertised "This August,"was not there. It was an awkward next 90 minutes as we all tried to enjoy ourselves yet realized all our plans and many expenses were wasted. SUCH a disappointment and extreme let down due advertising that wasn't true.

My expectation was that it would be more like the TV show. There was really no competition. It was more like only four contestants putting on a show together. Also, was more racy than I expected. I wouldn’t recommend it to any of my friends.
I didn’t know who I’d be seeing, but Asia O’Hara, Crystal Sapphira, Derrick Barry, Kahanna Montrese and Lawrence Cheney were a great surprise. I’m glad I went and would recommend everyone go if you want to have a good time with excellent live entertainment.

This was such a fun show. It was funny, entertaining, and well put together. I would definitely recommend especially if you are a fan of the tv show.
In Vegas with a friend and we went Ru Paul instead of Beyoncé… (trust me)… So the bar was high. And we had absolutely no regrets as the closeness and realness of the show was cabaret like! We loved it.
We had a wonderful time full of laughs. We satin a comfortable booth and had a great view for the show. We were glad we made time to stop in!
I absolutely loved the show this wasn’t my 1st or 7th attendance but this show was my 8th show and I specifically attended this one because Jimbo was there in as advertised they would be there July and I got lucky even got meet the queens after n Jimbo offered to take a solo with me (coulda been I was wearing his merch that I purchased 2 weeks prior when I attended but he was not at that show 7/10) but the cast was awesome as usual
If you are even a casual fan of RuPaul's Drag Race, you will love this show. The queens were funny and extremely entertaining. Asia O'Hara is a master at running the show and working the crowd. I loved it!
I was really excited to see this show. The venue was smaller than I had anticipated but loved it. The show had potential to being a great show. However a couple of the queens looked as if they were bored of the show and didn’t seem like they wanted to be there. Asia as the host was amazing. Lawrence and Sapphira were also the stars of the show in my opinion. I’m not mad I went and watched the show. Must have been an off night since I have heard nothing but amazing things.
The show was 10/10. We were a group of 4, and we had 4 drinks total for 175 bucks. The drinks were the worst I had in Vegas. Martinis were pretty much just olive juice.
Rupauls drag race live was simply amazing! This show was everything and more than I expected. I will most definitely come back to enjoy another incredible performance.
i have seen this show 14 times since its opened. I love how they keep it fresh and exciting. Love the humor, energy and entertainment it provides every time. Every performer and dancer work to make it a magical event for all. This is a definate must see show.
