    Hologram, shmallogram

by Pat on 11/4/19Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

Watching a hologram of Roy Orbison for $110 a ticket is a joke. Who ever thinks that this value is crazy and I fault Broward center for selling seats at those prices.

    Most unique concert EVER

by Ron the Realtor. on 11/4/19Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

I had never attended a HOLOGRAPHIC performance before. I had a very short time of loving Buddy Holly, but Roy Orbison was one of my favorite artists of all time. Both of them died way too young, but I especially missed having gone to see Roy Orbison in person. So a couple of months ago, I got the e-mail announcing this concert and could not wait. It was INCREDIBLE -- the singing, the dancing, the musicianship, the look, and the kidding around with the live performers. Getting to see especially Roy in person dictated that I add his concert to my Bucket List. What an incredible treat. Thank you.

Words cannot describe the experience. I would have went a second time in St. Louis if it was an option. You have to see this to believe it!!!

    Club level

by p. e. on 11/4/19Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

The show was ok,of course it was all about Roy Orbison. The club level with the free valet parking, the food and of course open bar was great.

    I had an amazing time

by Whistler on 11/2/19The Louisville Palace presented by Cricket Wireless - Louisville

The band was great and it was really cool hearing the actual singers. The prerecorded actors playing Buddy and Roy did a good job and seemed to have all the moves and mannerisms down. It was an overall great experience that i hope to see again soon.

    Truly amazing

    by T. C. on 11/1/19Old National Centre - Indianapolis

I went into this event expecting the holograms to be "transparent" and being able to see thru them. I was blown away at the realism. If you didn't know better you would have sworn that Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly were actually there. The live band and singers were great and never missed a beat. This is definitely a show that everyone needs to see to believe.

    Roy Orbison/Buddy Holly

by Schmee on 11/1/19Old National Centre - Indianapolis

LOVED the music!!! The live band was excellent, as were the backup singers. Was disappointed that the holographs were not actually Roy and Buddy but were actors. It felt misleading. I thought there was actual footage from their concert that the concert would be using, but that was not the case. Understandably, there must not have been enough footage of a quality that could be used. I still felt mislead.

    Great show

    by patsyfan1 on 10/31/19Taft Theatre - Cincinnati

This was a great show that the audience loved form the beginning to the end. It was neat how Orbinson interacted with the band. It was multi dimensional. All the big hits were here. They had a great band.

Fantastic show from start to finish

    by B on 10/31/19Taft Theatre - Cincinnati

Took my mom to this show as she's a big fan of Roy Orbison and I am a huge Buddy Holly fan. The show itself was fantastic. The production, song selection and backing band were phenomenal. My only real issue is with the staff. Several people attempted to record portions of the show, which was apparently against policy. The policy in itself was fine, however, the staff were very rude in their enforcement of it; shining flashlights in people's eyes and literally yelling at guests, many of whom were in their 60s and 70s, to put their phone away. An announcement prior to the show or posted signs informing guests not to record should have been in place to avoid the unnecessary rudeness from staff.

    Really enjoyed the show.

by Bob on 10/31/19Taft Theatre - Cincinnati

Great live band and back up singers. The theatre should have made an announcement prior to the beginning of the show and at intermission that "video / audio / still image photography is prohibited". Because the announcement was not made many people assumed that it would be OK to record. The distracting light from cell phones and ushers rushing to stop the recordings were a distraction that could have easily been prevented. A bit disappointed that the holograms were not created from performances by the original artists but overall, very well done!

    Mercy!

by PWFCLHGRO on 10/31/19Taft Theatre - Cincinnati

I’ve waited my whole life to see the late, great Roy Orbison in concert and now I feel like my dream has come true! The holograms of Roy and Buddy Holly were quite lifelike, and it felt like a true concert experience. The accompanying live band and backup singers were engaging and very talented; I wanted to jump up onstage and sing right along with them! I have but two critiques... (1) My friend and I felt that the experience would have benefited from the addition of a live emcee, to explain things to the audience and involve them a bit more. (2) Apparently, taking photos/videos of the event was not permitted, but there was no announcement regarding same, so unsuspecting concertgoers were being reprimanded during the performance (which was likely embarrassing and certainly disruptive). Nonetheless, the evening was glorious and entertaining and fulfilling in every way, and I’m so grateful to have had this opportunity! Thank you for visiting Cincinnati!!

    A great show

by Steve on 10/31/19Taft Theatre - Cincinnati

It was a little eerie at first watching Roy Orbison rise up through the stage, but as the "performers" rise up and vanish a few times during the show you get used to it. The illusion of Buddy or Roy actually being there was very convincing. The music was great as I expected. The live back-up band and singers were excellent and added a much fuller sound to the original music. I wasn't sure what to expect from a "holographic" concert, but it was better than I expected. If you like this music you will love this show.
