About

Comedian Ron "Tater Salad" White first rose to fame as the cigar-smoking, scotch-drinking funnyman from the Blue Collar Comedy Tour phenomenon, but now as a chart-topping Grammy-nominated comedian and a feature film actor, Ron White has established himself as a star in his own right. White has always been a classic storyteller. His stories relay tales from his real life, ranging from growing up in a small town in Texas to sharing stories of his daily life to becoming one of the most successful comedians in America. He has sold over 14 million albums (solo and with the Blue Collar Comedy Tour), been nominated for two Grammys, and has consistently been one of the top grossing stand up comedians on tour in America.

Ron White began performing comedy in 1986 and was quickly opening for legendary comedians Sam Kinison and Jeff Foxworthy. While eventually making the rounds as a comedy club headliner, in 2000, White was asked to join the Blue Collar Comedy Tour alongside Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy. The show toured for over three years to sold-out audiences in over 270 cities and grossed more than $35 million. In 2003, Warner Brothers filmed the show, Blue Collar Comedy Tour: The Movie for a theatrical/TV/DVD/CD release. The film premiered as the most-watched movie in Comedy Central's history. In 2005, the video Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again was filmed and released on TV and DVD/CD.

In November of 2003, White released his breakthrough comedy CD Drunk In Public followed by his first one-hour TV comedy special They Call Me Tater Salad. The special had the highest viewership for a Sunday program in Comedy Central history. The DVD version reached #1 on the Billboard Comedy Chart. White's second one-hour special You Can't Fix Stupid aired on Comedy Central to 4.5 million viewers, making it the third largest audience in Comedy Central's history and the #1 show on primetime basic cable. The CD reached #1 on the Billboard Comedy Charts and remained there for 9 consecutive weeks. This success also earned White his first Grammy nomination. Ron received his second Grammy nod for the show Blue Collar Comedy Tour - One for The Road. In June 2006, Penguin Books released Ron's first book Ron "Tater Salad" White: I Had the Right to Remain Silent...But I Didn't Have the Ability, which landed him on the New York Times Best Seller List. In 2009, Ron released his 3rd album Behavioral Problems, which reached #1 on the Billboard Comedy Chart. In 2013 Ron's 4th album, A Little Unprofessional, also reached #1 on the Billboard Comedy Chart. Never one to rest on his laurels, Ron White partnered with Netflix to release his most recent effort- the highly successful comedy special, "If You'd Quit Listening, I'd Shut Up."

As an actor, Ron White has had supporting roles in the major theatrical films Horrible Bosses and Sex and the City 2. He also had a principal role in Jayne Mansfield's Car (written/directed by Billy Bob Thornton). He was a co-Executive Producer of Bridegroom, a Linda Bloodworth-Thomason documentary, which debuted at the 2013 NYC Tribeca Film Festival and won the Audience Award. In 2016, Ron White's acting talents were showcased alongside Luke Wilson, Carla Gugino, and Imogen Poots, in music-industry veteran Cameron Crowe's Showtime series, Roadies. White played road-tested tour manager Phil in a critically praised performance.

Live performances on a comedy stage remain the life-blood of Ron White, and after all these years, the fans still can't get enough. White maintains a rigid touring schedule, and plays to sold out crowds all over the country night after night. The industry also continues to take notice; in 2021, Ron White was nominated as Pollstar's Comedy Touring Artist of the Decade.

Ron White was hilarious! If you're looking for a night of laughter, I highly recommend him. Not exactly a "family show", but he is definitely a fun night out without the kids. I thought he was very funny and plan to see him again the next time he comes to the Quad Cities!

    Ron White live show

by daveR on 7/14/09Embassy Theatre - Fort Wayne

very good, not like comedy clubs rauncy, but not lacking language. I wish it was longer for the cost, but the opener was good as well. And he stayed in character, brought and smoked the cigar, even in a town with a smoking ordinance.

    Ron White was HILARIOUS!

by NikkoBoy on 7/14/09Adler Theatre - Davenport

I saw Ron White a year ago, so when I bought tickets to the show this year I was a little concerned that his material would be pretty much the same. Was I wrong!! I think he may have used 2-3 jokes from the previous show -- the rest was all new material. Great show.

Not a good value for the money

by Sillyrabbit on 7/14/09Embassy Theatre - Fort Wayne

All the comedians were funny. Nice variety of presenters. The show started late and wrapped up early. i was very disappointed in the length of the show. For the Price of tickets I expected to be entertained not teased.

    Very Disappointing

by FTWayneconcertgoer on 7/14/09Embassy Theatre - Fort Wayne

Ron White came back to the Fort Wayne Embassy on June 5th and I was very excited to see him again. I had went to the show last year when he perform even though he was sick and losing his voice. He was very funny then. This years show was disappointing. The first half was new material, but raunchier than ever. The last half of the show was a complete repeat of the show he did the year before. I understand that comedians redo some of the more popular material, but this was word for word and not even his best stuff. I probably will go back and see him again, but I will let a few years pass between performances as it was a lot of money to see mostly the same show.

    Ron White Rocks!

by mmaarriiee on 7/14/09Adler Theatre - Davenport

We had a great time. Ron White is very personable and likeable. He even brought his dogs on stage at the end, which was neat to see part of his real life. Very down to Earth guy. Demeanor hilarious! Yes, I would recommend him, AND HAVE! I think he is one of the funniest comedians out there. His comedy is not raunchy, like others I have seen, but just enough to make you crack up laughing. Yes, been there, done that! The guy that he had open his act was pretty funny too.

    ron whitew as very entertaining

by jefs on 7/14/09Adler Theatre - Davenport

it would take an unbelievable show for me to rate it as a 5 star show, so it is certainly not a detraction to be a 4. it was everything I expected and more. superior to his show from several years ago.

    Ron White was so funny!

by Shower on 7/14/09Beau Rivage Theatre - Biloxi

My husband and I had the best time watching and listening to Ron White. I thought my husband was going to fall out of his chair, due to lack of oxygen to his brain from laughing so hard.

Ron White- laughed till I cried

by tljl on 7/14/09Beau Rivage Theatre - Biloxi

The best show I have seen in a long time. I laughed from the moment he went on stage to the time he went off. Can't wait to see him again. Much better live than on tv!

    Great show!

by sonicboomman2008 on 7/14/09Beau Rivage Theatre - Biloxi

The seating at the Beau Rivage was a bit cramped, but that did not take away from the quality of the performance. Ron Whites opener, Robert Hawklins, was probably the funniest person (next to Ron White of course) that I have ever seen. I literally could not breathe I was laughing so hard at certain points. All in all it was well worth what I paid to see it.

My husband and I went, and laughed our heads off. Some jokes were a little embarassing. More risque then his tv performances.

I had seen his shows on tv before, so I pretty much knew that it would be a great performance. But we laughed so much that I had tears in my eyes. I absolutely love Ron White. He is awesome.
