About

Comedian Ron "Tater Salad" White first rose to fame as the cigar-smoking, scotch-drinking funnyman from the Blue Collar Comedy Tour phenomenon, but now as a chart-topping Grammy-nominated comedian and a feature film actor, Ron White has established himself as a star in his own right. White has always been a classic storyteller. His stories relay tales from his real life, ranging from growing up in a small town in Texas to sharing stories of his daily life to becoming one of the most successful comedians in America. He has sold over 14 million albums (solo and with the Blue Collar Comedy Tour), been nominated for two Grammys, and has consistently been one of the top grossing stand up comedians on tour in America.

Ron White began performing comedy in 1986 and was quickly opening for legendary comedians Sam Kinison and Jeff Foxworthy. While eventually making the rounds as a comedy club headliner, in 2000, White was asked to join the Blue Collar Comedy Tour alongside Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy. The show toured for over three years to sold-out audiences in over 270 cities and grossed more than $35 million. In 2003, Warner Brothers filmed the show, Blue Collar Comedy Tour: The Movie for a theatrical/TV/DVD/CD release. The film premiered as the most-watched movie in Comedy Central's history. In 2005, the video Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again was filmed and released on TV and DVD/CD.

In November of 2003, White released his breakthrough comedy CD Drunk In Public followed by his first one-hour TV comedy special They Call Me Tater Salad. The special had the highest viewership for a Sunday program in Comedy Central history. The DVD version reached #1 on the Billboard Comedy Chart. White's second one-hour special You Can't Fix Stupid aired on Comedy Central to 4.5 million viewers, making it the third largest audience in Comedy Central's history and the #1 show on primetime basic cable. The CD reached #1 on the Billboard Comedy Charts and remained there for 9 consecutive weeks. This success also earned White his first Grammy nomination. Ron received his second Grammy nod for the show Blue Collar Comedy Tour - One for The Road. In June 2006, Penguin Books released Ron's first book Ron "Tater Salad" White: I Had the Right to Remain Silent...But I Didn't Have the Ability, which landed him on the New York Times Best Seller List. In 2009, Ron released his 3rd album Behavioral Problems, which reached #1 on the Billboard Comedy Chart. In 2013 Ron's 4th album, A Little Unprofessional, also reached #1 on the Billboard Comedy Chart. Never one to rest on his laurels, Ron White partnered with Netflix to release his most recent effort- the highly successful comedy special, "If You'd Quit Listening, I'd Shut Up."

As an actor, Ron White has had supporting roles in the major theatrical films Horrible Bosses and Sex and the City 2. He also had a principal role in Jayne Mansfield's Car (written/directed by Billy Bob Thornton). He was a co-Executive Producer of Bridegroom, a Linda Bloodworth-Thomason documentary, which debuted at the 2013 NYC Tribeca Film Festival and won the Audience Award. In 2016, Ron White's acting talents were showcased alongside Luke Wilson, Carla Gugino, and Imogen Poots, in music-industry veteran Cameron Crowe's Showtime series, Roadies. White played road-tested tour manager Phil in a critically praised performance.

Live performances on a comedy stage remain the life-blood of Ron White, and after all these years, the fans still can't get enough. White maintains a rigid touring schedule, and plays to sold out crowds all over the country night after night. The industry also continues to take notice; in 2021, Ron White was nominated as Pollstar's Comedy Touring Artist of the Decade.

    Ron White was hysterical!

by Mose on 7/14/09Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

We went with another couple who were also familiar with Ron White's comedy. He was very, very funny--pretty raw, but funny. There were a lot of good one-liners that we were throwing around after the show. Memorable. I would definitely go see him again, and would love to see other comedians from the Blue Collar Comedy team. We also really loved the warm up comedian--Alex.

    Ron had little new material

by Appleton on 7/14/09Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

I was disappointed that most of the material I had already heard on the comedy channel. Ron needs to come up with some new comedy themes.

by SuzyBoop on 7/14/09Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

Amazing - he brings all his humor. Always throws in a few new laughs, even though I've seen many of his shows. What a treat!!! We took my brother in law as a Christmas gift and he loved it too!

    Ron White Outstanding Showman

by clownfish on 7/14/09Adler Theatre - Davenport

Ron White was everything we expected and a lot more! He kept us laughing from the first line he uttered to the last before he left the stage. I can't remember having a more enjoyable evening in a long time. Our seats were great and the theater is lovely. A wonderful venue to see a comedian, not too big. My face hurt from laughing so much. I also loved the way he handled the occasional heckler. The Man has class and he does not put up with idiots. Thanks for the good time Ron!

    Ron White - great evening!

    by KK14194 on 7/14/09Adler Theatre - Davenport

I purchased the tickets as a birthday present for my brother. We enjoyed the show very much! I heard Ron on a radio show not to long ago talking about his new material and that he is really enjoying it but, that people still want to hear some of his old stuff. Well, I am one of those people too and there wasn't any mention of the old material...I mean, it would be kinda cool to end his show with maybe just a bit from the old stuff one night and maybe another bit another night. Everyone had a great time and his new material is great! But the old stuff that made him so popular is classic stuff, and his delivery of it is so memorable!

    ron white at the Embassy

by bethinindiana on 7/14/09Embassy Theatre - Fort Wayne

It was OK. He's an extremely funny man but relies too heavily on sex to be funny. It isn't necessary. His perspective on life is plenty funny! The first half of the show was better than the second half. His opening comedian wasn't wonderful.

    RON WHITE IS HILARIOUS

by LJoH on 7/14/09Embassy Theatre - Fort Wayne

From his honest accounts of getting jailed for drugs to his uncanny jokes about his wife's family...Ron White can make a person LAUGH!!! It's pretty rare in today's profession of comedy that he can take life's BORING daily activities and turn them into a hilarious bitter sweet comedy routine. I love Ron White!!!

    He's favorite Comedian

by Outahere on 7/14/09Adler Theatre - Davenport

When I saw him first time about 4 years ago he was fantastic. maybe some of the newness has worn off. I've seen him about 10 times. He doesn't seem as hungry as he used to be or as funny but if he's appearing close to me or where I'm traveling I won't miss his show.

    Ron White was hilariously funny!

by LuckyLisa on 7/14/09Adler Theatre - Davenport

Ron White is still on top of his game with hilarious comedy! Talking about everyday subjects such as marriage, mothers, homeland security, drinking and smokin. His material was easy to understand and easy to follow. My husband and I picked this show as our "date nite", we made a good choice and would pay to see him again.
