About

Rodney Carrington on Tour

One of America's most popular comedians and an actor and author to boot, Rodney Carrington shows just what kind of good times can happen when country meets comedy.

Since the breakthrough success of his first major-label release Hangin' with Rodney in 1998, Carrington has been a favorite of audiences all over the world thanks to his enjoyably raucous take on the best things in life, starting with whatever's in the bottle in front of him. With signature songs like "Just One Beer," "Wish She Would Have Left Quicker" and "Put Your Clothes Back On," he proves that some jokes just go better when combined with the twang and swagger of a country tune.

In addition to being one of America's Top 10 highest-grossing comedians, Carrington headlined his own ABC sitcom with Rodney and co-starred with Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses. In 2017, his special Here Comes The Truth brought his blue-collar brand of stand-up and musical comedy to Netflix. His 2020 tour of venues across the U.S. and Canada follows the release of his latest album, Get Em Out, which hit No. 1 on the iTunes comedy chart.

Rodney Carrington Background

Rodney Carrington has been providing proudly blue-collar audiences something to laugh about ever since his earliest days as a performer at local venues and on radio shows in his native Texas in the ‘90s.

After years of touring nationally, Carrington's breakthrough came with the 1998 release of Hangin' With Rodney, a CD that introduced listeners to the combination of comedy and country music that fast became his trademark. In 2000, he scored his first Top 20 album on Billboard's country chart with Morning Wood, an equally raucous collection that included such fan favorites as "A Dozen Roses" and "Older Women."

Along with earning platinum sales as a recording artist, Carrington's achievements include starring in the ABC sitcom Rodney (2004-2006) and co-writing and co-starring with superstar Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses (2008). In 2007, he made the jump to the publishing world with his first book, Coming Clean. His Netflix special Here Comes the Truth debuted in 2017. Get Em Out, his eighth comedy album, was released in 2019.

  • Awesome evening

Rodney was funny as usual, in fact even better than times in the past. The venue was great, the staff was great. Easy in and out.

  • Rodney was great! Seats were awful

by Kc on 6/18/24The Event Center at Hollywood Casino Columbus - ColumbusRating: 4 out of 5

Rodney was great, as expected! The venue was nice. I was excited to have so few people there at first. But they had the chairs so close together that it was uncomfortable. Thankfully we had an end seat so we unhooked the chairs and moved them apart more. This started a chain reaction in our section of others doing the same thing. Dear Hollywood Casino, not everyone is skinny!

  • Great show but spacing was horrible

The show was great. Bothe the opener and Rodney were hilarious. The worst part of the show was the seating. There was no space at all. We were elbow to elbow if not sitting on top of each other. Plenty of floor space to give a small space between seats. I’m a big guy and sat next to another big guy which was next to another big guy. We were on top of each other overlapping on the next chair beside us. Give even an inch or two between seats next time.

I laughed until I cried. Would definitely see Rodney again. The seating could have been better. Very cramped

Rodney Carrington came out swinging with his hilarious jokes. He definitely did not dissappint. If you are easily offended he may not be for you. If you like just laughing and having a good time he is amazing. This was like our 6th time seeing him.

Hilarious show, had all 4 of us that went together in tears. Not for the easily offended, but he is a full circle entertainer. He has a great singing voice, his facial expressions add to the character. If you do not leave there in tears, you may need to check and see if you have a pulse. Will be in line for tickets as soon as he is even remotely local again!

My husband and I felt as if he was telling our life stories, right down to the Cabela's work socks and CPAP machine. Hit us up, Rodney, if you need more material. ~ Blessings ~

Funny as hell, the venue was great, spacious seating, I’m 6’9”” and I had leg room between the seating rows.

Very funny show. Excellent delivery and relatable content. Highly recommend his show. Not for the easily offended as there is a lot of truth shared during the show. Definitely adult material.

  • Rodney is tired

by Ejones1961 on 5/16/24Carl Perkins Civic Center - JacksonRating: 3 out of 5

The show was good, I have been a fan of Rodney Carrington for years. The show I attended was not his best work by far but it was still funny. He seemed like he was tired and just putting a day in on the job. I would still go see him again.
