About

Rodney Carrington on Tour

One of America's most popular comedians and an actor and author to boot, Rodney Carrington shows just what kind of good times can happen when country meets comedy.

Since the breakthrough success of his first major-label release Hangin' with Rodney in 1998, Carrington has been a favorite of audiences all over the world thanks to his enjoyably raucous take on the best things in life, starting with whatever's in the bottle in front of him. With signature songs like "Just One Beer," "Wish She Would Have Left Quicker" and "Put Your Clothes Back On," he proves that some jokes just go better when combined with the twang and swagger of a country tune.

In addition to being one of America's Top 10 highest-grossing comedians, Carrington headlined his own ABC sitcom with Rodney and co-starred with Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses. In 2017, his special Here Comes The Truth brought his blue-collar brand of stand-up and musical comedy to Netflix. His 2020 tour of venues across the U.S. and Canada follows the release of his latest album, Get Em Out, which hit No. 1 on the iTunes comedy chart.

Rodney Carrington Background

Rodney Carrington has been providing proudly blue-collar audiences something to laugh about ever since his earliest days as a performer at local venues and on radio shows in his native Texas in the ‘90s.

After years of touring nationally, Carrington's breakthrough came with the 1998 release of Hangin' With Rodney, a CD that introduced listeners to the combination of comedy and country music that fast became his trademark. In 2000, he scored his first Top 20 album on Billboard's country chart with Morning Wood, an equally raucous collection that included such fan favorites as "A Dozen Roses" and "Older Women."

Along with earning platinum sales as a recording artist, Carrington's achievements include starring in the ABC sitcom Rodney (2004-2006) and co-writing and co-starring with superstar Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses (2008). In 2007, he made the jump to the publishing world with his first book, Coming Clean. His Netflix special Here Comes the Truth debuted in 2017. Get Em Out, his eighth comedy album, was released in 2019.

I've been to many of Rodney's shows. This show was as phenomenal as all the others I've been to. Rodney is a true beacon of light in an often dark world. He can make everyone laugh by poking fun at all those everyday experiences that we all have. His ability to draw from the average person's real life makes him so relatable. His bold and wild stage presence make the show hilarious! However, I highly recommend getting the VIP tickets. Meeting him is a blessing. Not only is he an amazing comedian, but he is a beautiful human being. He is so humble and kind to all he meets. I truly appreciate him for the performances he gives as well as the kindness shown to me. He can make you laugh when you don't even feel like smiling.

  • Bad Ass Show

This show was bad to the bone. We enjoyed it and was glad when he finally threw out the unruly person, sitting directly in front of us. Thank you sir. We would love to see you again.

  • Rodney is aging...

by J.R. on 5/14/24Carl Perkins Civic Center - JacksonRating: 4 out of 5

I expected more from Rodney. The show was titled The Greatest Tits Tour. It was not! He seemed kinda disgruntled and assumed everybody was old. On a positive note, the new material was funny, we enjoyed what he did. He was funny. But for my first rodney show I was disapointed.

Rodney was great as always, mixing old and new material with ease to the delight of the audience.

The show was very fun and definitely for the mature audience. Some jokes really pushed the boundary of acceptable. Whether it was apart of the show or not I don’t know but when he says he doesn’t tolerate rood people he means. A definitely go see.

  • Not as funny as I remembered

    by Madeusmile4 on 5/7/24Ovens Auditorium - CharlotteRating: 3 out of 5

Got tickets last minute when I heard he was coming to town. Plenty of tickets available. Now I know why. Did not start on time, was about 15 minutes late. Both the opening act and main act were okay but not as funny as I had hoped. Definitely funnier in his younger days. Venue seats were small and uncomfortable as well. Not a great night at all.

  • Not the Rodney of old

by JT on 5/6/24Ovens Auditorium - CharlotteRating: 2 out of 5

Was disappointed in the show. Seems Rodney is not putting much effort into his material any more. Actually he seems sad and tired and we walked away feeling more sorry for him than entertained and happy.

  • Amazing

This was the best comedy show I have ever seen. I laughed for the entire length of the show. My husband and I were able to meet Rodney after the show and he is a genuinely nice guy. Very personable.
