About

Rodney Carrington on Tour

One of America's most popular comedians and an actor and author to boot, Rodney Carrington shows just what kind of good times can happen when country meets comedy.

Since the breakthrough success of his first major-label release Hangin' with Rodney in 1998, Carrington has been a favorite of audiences all over the world thanks to his enjoyably raucous take on the best things in life, starting with whatever's in the bottle in front of him. With signature songs like "Just One Beer," "Wish She Would Have Left Quicker" and "Put Your Clothes Back On," he proves that some jokes just go better when combined with the twang and swagger of a country tune.

In addition to being one of America's Top 10 highest-grossing comedians, Carrington headlined his own ABC sitcom with Rodney and co-starred with Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses. In 2017, his special Here Comes The Truth brought his blue-collar brand of stand-up and musical comedy to Netflix. His 2020 tour of venues across the U.S. and Canada follows the release of his latest album, Get Em Out, which hit No. 1 on the iTunes comedy chart.

Rodney Carrington Background

Rodney Carrington has been providing proudly blue-collar audiences something to laugh about ever since his earliest days as a performer at local venues and on radio shows in his native Texas in the ā€˜90s.

After years of touring nationally, Carrington's breakthrough came with the 1998 release of Hangin' With Rodney, a CD that introduced listeners to the combination of comedy and country music that fast became his trademark. In 2000, he scored his first Top 20 album on Billboard's country chart with Morning Wood, an equally raucous collection that included such fan favorites as "A Dozen Roses" and "Older Women."

Along with earning platinum sales as a recording artist, Carrington's achievements include starring in the ABC sitcom Rodney (2004-2006) and co-writing and co-starring with superstar Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses (2008). In 2007, he made the jump to the publishing world with his first book, Coming Clean. His Netflix special Here Comes the Truth debuted in 2017. Get Em Out, his eighth comedy album, was released in 2019.

Finally got to see Rodney Carrington, made me laugh harder than I've ever laughed at his videos.

  • Good time

by Matt on 4/7/23Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Rodney Carrington was hilarious. He had me in tears from laughing so hard. This was my first time at Cobb energy. The parking was $15, which was ok I guess. I sat on the front row of the upper level which was a greta view , but the seats in the upper level do not have much room at all. I would definitely recommend sitting on the lower level. Even walking down the aisle was extremely tight. I didn't get up once after the show started just for that reason and I actually wanted another beverage. The venue was nice and so was the staff working. They only allowed people to exit from one location so it took a while to exit

  • The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly

by Puddin Tane on 4/4/23Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

The Good: The facility was really nice and clean. The Bad: The show was short. I thought it was going to be a 3-hour event, but it was maybe 2 hours, which included the opening act. The Ugly: The drinks were outrageous - $50 for two Rum drinks (maybe 10 to 12 ounces and had to mix with cranberry juice and sprite) - No Crown Royal. $50 would be steep even for CR, but it would have been better than cheap Rum.

  • Perfect!

  • Good but not great

by Erica B on 4/4/23Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Opener Matt Taylor was super funny, and Rodney was too. Mind you, I’m no prude but woooo he got raunchy! Some people (maybe 20 in our immediate area) got up and left. For the price paid, I wished there were projection screens because we couldn’t see anything from the grand tier location high up. I also feel the sound system could have been better. It was difficult to understand at times. So we don’t regret going, but there’s room for improvement.

This was the 6th time seeing Rodney. One of the funniest comedians out there. You know a great show when everyone around you is falling out, laughing. Majestic is always a great theater. Wish the bars didn't take so long to serve.

Rodney Carrington is sooooo funny! The Majestic Theatre is such a BEAUTIFUL venue. We had such a good time - it’s so good to laugh again. We purchased VIP tickets and got to meet Mr Carrington after his performance. What an AWESOME experience!

  • Excellent

by Cody on 3/7/23Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San AntonioRating: 5 out of 5

Better than ever. Fresh content coming off of COVID while still making classic content feel amazing.

  • Alcohol abuse

by Ed on 3/7/23Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San AntonioRating: 4 out of 5

One thing I think should be addressed is the amount of time the bar service is open. The lines are too long and then once the show starts ALL the bars are shut down. The bar service in the Lobby area and the back bar could stay open without interfering with the show.

  • Absolutely hilarious!!!

Seemed so relatable to everyday kind of people, problems, etc. By the way, some of those girls should have left their titties covered up!
