About

Rodney Carrington on Tour

One of America's most popular comedians and an actor and author to boot, Rodney Carrington shows just what kind of good times can happen when country meets comedy.

Since the breakthrough success of his first major-label release Hangin' with Rodney in 1998, Carrington has been a favorite of audiences all over the world thanks to his enjoyably raucous take on the best things in life, starting with whatever's in the bottle in front of him. With signature songs like "Just One Beer," "Wish She Would Have Left Quicker" and "Put Your Clothes Back On," he proves that some jokes just go better when combined with the twang and swagger of a country tune.

In addition to being one of America's Top 10 highest-grossing comedians, Carrington headlined his own ABC sitcom with Rodney and co-starred with Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses. In 2017, his special Here Comes The Truth brought his blue-collar brand of stand-up and musical comedy to Netflix. His 2020 tour of venues across the U.S. and Canada follows the release of his latest album, Get Em Out, which hit No. 1 on the iTunes comedy chart.

Rodney Carrington Background

Rodney Carrington has been providing proudly blue-collar audiences something to laugh about ever since his earliest days as a performer at local venues and on radio shows in his native Texas in the ‘90s.

After years of touring nationally, Carrington's breakthrough came with the 1998 release of Hangin' With Rodney, a CD that introduced listeners to the combination of comedy and country music that fast became his trademark. In 2000, he scored his first Top 20 album on Billboard's country chart with Morning Wood, an equally raucous collection that included such fan favorites as "A Dozen Roses" and "Older Women."

Along with earning platinum sales as a recording artist, Carrington's achievements include starring in the ABC sitcom Rodney (2004-2006) and co-writing and co-starring with superstar Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses (2008). In 2007, he made the jump to the publishing world with his first book, Coming Clean. His Netflix special Here Comes the Truth debuted in 2017. Get Em Out, his eighth comedy album, was released in 2019.

  • Rodney was outstanding 5 Star. Venue 1 Star

by Rockford on 4/26/23Will Rogers Auditorium - Fort WorthRating: 5 out of 5

Venue at Will Rodgers in Fort Worth. Was horrible. Doors open at 7:00. They wouldn’t let anyone in and made customers wait outside. Around 7:20 started letting people in and the opening act was already started. Don’t recommend this venue

  • Rodney did not disappoint !

by KP on 4/26/23Will Rogers Auditorium - Fort WorthRating: 5 out of 5

Rodney: Rodney came out with guns a blazing and not holding back. The stories he told and how he told them were vintage Rodney. As comedians get older their deliver can get stale but not his, he kept if fresh and hilarious for the evening. Would highly recommend Rodney Carrington as a must see when he comes to town. The Venue: I understand that the venue is part of the historic charm of Fort Worth, but it is desperate need of updating for a better customer experience. bathrooms are small and only one way in and out so very crowded, and vendors for drinks and snacks set up in the foyer that make for A LOT of congestion and hard to walk through, and exit.

  • Long lines as far as the eyes can see

by Big Rick on 4/26/23Will Rogers Auditorium - Fort WorthRating: 4 out of 5

Rodney was great as usual. Getting into the show was terrible. Only 3 points of entry. So people were still funneling in well after the show started. Food and drink choices were very limited with only a couple of places to purchase from. Which made for really long lines. Then they closed them down shortly after the show started

  • Rodney Carrington

Rodney Carrington still makes me laugh!! First time I saw him in person was 1998. I bought my boyfriend and I tickets ! I can’t tell you how many times over the years that we’ve gone and watched him. Now fast forward to 2023, same guy( now my Hubby) I bought him tickets for his birthday this time. Even though it’s been over 20 years, Rodney Carrington is still the real deal he can make you laugh repeatedly!!!

  • Not the best

by Kinah on 4/25/23Will Rogers Auditorium - Fort WorthRating: 3 out of 5

There was nothing that said what time doors opened. It said show starts at 7, we got there at 720 and there were long lines to get in and by the time we got to our seats everyone was seated and there was the opening act already on. It was pitch black in all the aisles so we couldn’t see. We got to our seats and there were people already seated. It was a whole issue and no one wanted to move. I went to go find help as there was no one around to assist us. Had to go down the dark non lit stairs and ended up falling and spraining my ankle. Finally found someone who did end up moving us to different/better seats, but that took so long that we missed the whole first act and the beginning of the main show. Over all it was not the best experience.

  • Good

by Kandikowgirl on 4/25/23Will Rogers Auditorium - Fort WorthRating: 5 out of 5

The first performance started late. He wasn’t funny at all. Things seemed unorganized and the staff didn’t really know the seating area, they were walking people all over the place. It was too cold in the theater.

    by Bco24 on 4/11/23Knoxville Civic Auditorium - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Small auditorium so great seats no matter where you are. Opening act did wrll...he just needed more confidence in himself. Rodney was hilarious. His on stage vs off stage is completely different! He was a wild man on stage and funny. Off stage quiet and reserved. Definitely entertaining and would see again!
