About

Rodney Carrington on Tour

One of America's most popular comedians and an actor and author to boot, Rodney Carrington shows just what kind of good times can happen when country meets comedy.

Since the breakthrough success of his first major-label release Hangin' with Rodney in 1998, Carrington has been a favorite of audiences all over the world thanks to his enjoyably raucous take on the best things in life, starting with whatever's in the bottle in front of him. With signature songs like "Just One Beer," "Wish She Would Have Left Quicker" and "Put Your Clothes Back On," he proves that some jokes just go better when combined with the twang and swagger of a country tune.

In addition to being one of America's Top 10 highest-grossing comedians, Carrington headlined his own ABC sitcom with Rodney and co-starred with Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses. In 2017, his special Here Comes The Truth brought his blue-collar brand of stand-up and musical comedy to Netflix. His 2020 tour of venues across the U.S. and Canada follows the release of his latest album, Get Em Out, which hit No. 1 on the iTunes comedy chart.

Rodney Carrington Background

Rodney Carrington has been providing proudly blue-collar audiences something to laugh about ever since his earliest days as a performer at local venues and on radio shows in his native Texas in the ‘90s.

After years of touring nationally, Carrington's breakthrough came with the 1998 release of Hangin' With Rodney, a CD that introduced listeners to the combination of comedy and country music that fast became his trademark. In 2000, he scored his first Top 20 album on Billboard's country chart with Morning Wood, an equally raucous collection that included such fan favorites as "A Dozen Roses" and "Older Women."

Along with earning platinum sales as a recording artist, Carrington's achievements include starring in the ABC sitcom Rodney (2004-2006) and co-writing and co-starring with superstar Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses (2008). In 2007, he made the jump to the publishing world with his first book, Coming Clean. His Netflix special Here Comes the Truth debuted in 2017. Get Em Out, his eighth comedy album, was released in 2019.

LOVE RODNEY, LOVED THE SHOW. THE ONLY BAD THIS WAS THE SOUND SYSTEM. IT WAS OFTEN DIFFICULT TO CATCH EVERYTHING HE WAS SAYING.

  • Was a great show at a great facility

by Huey on 3/7/23Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar LandRating: 5 out of 5

There is not a bad seat in the venue. Rodney put on a great show, but you had better be aware of his type of comedy before you go. Had a great time and have not laughed that much in a very long time. Would recommend him if you like his type of humor.

  • My stomach was hurting from laughing so hard.

Our Seats were perfect. Rodney is by far the funniest stand up comedian my husband and I have ever seen.

  • The show was great and very entertaining.

I have zero complaints about the show. Rodney Carrington is a funny, great and entertaining performer. I do not regret attending the show. The opening performer was also very funny. The Selena Auditorium seating would be my only complaint. we felt like sardines in the chairs and yes we were squeezing against our neighbors.

  • Was not expecting that!

by Cat on 3/6/23American Bank Center Selena Auditorium - Corpus ChristiRating: 5 out of 5

He cracked some jokes and told some stories I was not expecting. Each one had me laughing quite hard. My party and I thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Carrington and all of his jokes as well as the act, a Mike, that opened for him.

  • Lots of laughs

Second time of seeing Rodney, Saw him years ago in Shreveport. Went with my sister, this was her first time of seeing him. Had a good time except for the drunk girl sitting next to us. Lol. Liked his new songs. Too funny...

  • Funny, but short

by Adbks on 3/6/23Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar LandRating: 4 out of 5

Overall event was ok, Rodneys portion was only and hour and a half. For the cost i would expect at least 30 more minutes.

  • Had great time.

by Mr. Joe on 3/6/23Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar LandRating: 4 out of 5

Would be 5 stars but the show barely made an a hour and a half. I realize he is a comedian but take after Bruce Springsteen----honor those fans and put on a 4 hour show.

  • Rodney Carrington

by DART on 3/6/23Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar LandRating: 3 out of 5

Rodney Carrington gave a great funny perfermance! In order for everyone to see him better the projection screens should of been on and showing him upclose (this was a huge disappointment). The venue is nice but the prices of food and drinks are a bit ridiculous. Suggestion is to eat before you go/or after. The performance was at 7 pm on a Friday, 8pm may have been a better time. Most people come from different cities around Sugarland. They have to leave work early to travel to the venue in 5pm traffic.

  • Much needed night out

by Boda on 2/26/23Ameristar Casino and Hotel - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

The show was hilarious!! Seating sucks because if you have a bigger person next to you it's hard to get comfortable. My husband had half a seat.

  • Fun Venue

by Stvzgrl3 on 2/21/23Ameristar Casino and Hotel - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

We had never seen Rodney Carrington live. He was so funny! We laughed so hard and we all need to laugh more these days. We enjoyed the conveniences of his show being at the Ametistar Casino. Parking was plentiful and easy, the casino was clean, spacious and gave you a Vegas vibe. We ate dinner there and gambled and actually came home with more than what we’d spent for the evening. It really enhanced our fun evening.

  • Had an absolute BLAST!

This was non stop laughs. If you're sensitive, his shows are not for you. But if you love to laugh you have to go to a Rodney show. Very underrated but omg so worth going.
