Rodney Carrington on Tour
One of America's most popular comedians and an actor and author to boot, Rodney Carrington shows just what kind of good times can happen when country meets comedy.
Since the breakthrough success of his first major-label release Hangin' with Rodney in 1998, Carrington has been a favorite of audiences all over the world thanks to his enjoyably raucous take on the best things in life, starting with whatever's in the bottle in front of him. With signature songs like "Just One Beer," "Wish She Would Have Left Quicker" and "Put Your Clothes Back On," he proves that some jokes just go better when combined with the twang and swagger of a country tune.
In addition to being one of America's Top 10 highest-grossing comedians, Carrington headlined his own ABC sitcom with Rodney and co-starred with Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses. In 2017, his special Here Comes The Truth brought his blue-collar brand of stand-up and musical comedy to Netflix. His 2020 tour of venues across the U.S. and Canada follows the release of his latest album, Get Em Out, which hit No. 1 on the iTunes comedy chart.
Rodney Carrington Background
Rodney Carrington has been providing proudly blue-collar audiences something to laugh about ever since his earliest days as a performer at local venues and on radio shows in his native Texas in the ‘90s.
After years of touring nationally, Carrington's breakthrough came with the 1998 release of Hangin' With Rodney, a CD that introduced listeners to the combination of comedy and country music that fast became his trademark. In 2000, he scored his first Top 20 album on Billboard's country chart with Morning Wood, an equally raucous collection that included such fan favorites as "A Dozen Roses" and "Older Women."
Along with earning platinum sales as a recording artist, Carrington's achievements include starring in the ABC sitcom Rodney (2004-2006) and co-writing and co-starring with superstar Toby Keith in the feature film Beer For My Horses (2008). In 2007, he made the jump to the publishing world with his first book, Coming Clean. His Netflix special Here Comes the Truth debuted in 2017. Get Em Out, his eighth comedy album, was released in 2019.
Love Rodney. The event center was very nice. Had a great evening.
This is the second time we have seen Rodney Carrington and this time was better than the first. The venue was good and there wasn’t a bad seat in the house.
Always love rodney he's the best will definitely attend again
Rodney was very funny but i thought he would go longer than an hour. Pretty expensive 50.00 - 120.00 a ticket for just an hour. He has alot of funny songs and i think only sang like 3 or 4. Wouldnt see him again knowing it was only an hour long.
This was my first show and a bucket list item for my husband. We will definitely purchase when he is close to us again! Loved it!
My wife and I just had a great time! It was a great way to start a Memorial Day weekend off.
Rodney was great this time around. He had us rolling in the aisles ! If I had one complaint, I wish he would have sang more at the end.
The 5 stars are for Rodney Carrington. He will make you cry from laughing so hard. I give his opener Matt 3.5 stars. I can see him at 4.5 stars within a year. As for the venue, like I said in another review, it's the size of a school gymnasium. It's great for a comedy show but not a music concert. The worst is the seating. Chairs are small and sit too close. Again, Rodney Carrington is awesome.
It was a very funny and entertaining show. Laughed the whole time
The show was wonderful. We laughed from start to finish. The best comedy show ever. The show was the best. Would recommend others to go see his show for sure. Thanks for the the best time
Kept Us Laughing till end. We will go back again.
I laughed so hard. I would definitely go to Rodney everytime he is having a show in my area. Where he comes up with his lines 🤣 He needs to keep it coming. Thank you for a very eventful and enjoyable evening.
Very funny from start to finish 10 out 10 had a great time.
Was trying to get to see him for four years.had a grand old time was very funny and will catch him again next year.
FUNNY FUNNY FUNNY, IT IS REAL LIFE HUMOR THAT HE JUST PUTS A HILARIOUS TWIST ON !!!
The show was great. We wanted more. THE VENUE SUCKED. We went early and it was like coraling cattle to get in and even order a drink. A+ for Rondey D- for Margaritaville
Seating was very tight and we didn't like that vending closes way too early. The show was amazing though just not looking forward to attending a show here at the Selena Center.
Absolutely incredible and hilarious! Rodney will have you rolling and gasping for air between laughs. Your abs will feel like a workout after. He is a tremendous story teller and is genuine. Plus the bonus is that he can sing, and sing well. I will always recommend seeing this man live!
Rodney was great! The seating was awful. I’ll never attend another event at Will Rogers Auditorium. The seats are extremely tight and causes tension in the audience. Makes an extremely unpleasant experience.
Rodney Carrington put on a great show and I will try to see another in the near future.
