About

Rod Stewart in Concert

With his 1978 No. 1 single, Rod Stewart famously asked the world "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" 100 million record sales later, it's safe to say the world answered "Yes." As one of the top-selling artists of all time, with a career spanning four decades, the British singer-songwriter is one of the most celebrated figures in rock and roll history. The times may have changed, but Stewart's appeal hasn't - with his 28th studio album, 2013's Time, the raspy crooner once again topped the UK Albums Chart - the first time he'd done so since the release of his Greatest Hits Volume 1 in 1979. Stewart got his start as a solo artists in the early '70s, achieving his first mainstream success with blues rock hit "Maggie May" from 1971's Every Picture Tells a Story. In the late '70s and early '80s, the singer would adopt disco and new wave influences to much success, including the 1978 No. 1 Blondes Have More Fun and 1981's Tonight I'm Yours, which featured the hit "Young Turks." On tour, Stewart treats ticket buyers to rollicking sets of his greatest hits, proving that "Rod the Mod" still knows how to give one heck of a live concert.

    Sound system

by teajenny on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

Stevie and Rod were terrific. The only problem is that Stevies voice was drowned out by the sound system, she has a sweet voice and I wanted to hear it more clearly. Maybe it's because we were seated way up in the back. I just want to mention that we attended an Eagles concert in the same place and the sound system was excellent, and none of their voices were muffled. Anyway, that's just my two cents worth. I have a soft spot for Stevie and Rod because they are real singers and Stevie writes beautiful songs, God Bless her and Rod ( who has that great sense of humor) Overall the concert was fantastic.

    ROD was awesome!

by LiaIsabella on 4/1/11Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

This concert, by far, was the best I have ever attended. Rod Stewart was so energetic and gave the audience his all. Everything from the selection of songs performed to the band, backup singers, lights and excitement going on in the arena was top notch. My husband and I would go see him again in a heartbeat.

Disappointing at first, but Rod brought it on!

    by Phantom208 on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

The program started with Stevie Nicks. The music was so loud could not understand what Stevie was singing until Landslide which was OK since the whole band did not participate. Stevie sang too many songs I was not familiar with. Rod Stewart's performance was night and day to Stevie's. He is really a showman and his choreography was great. His band is very talented. The volume was't over bearing. The crowd really got into his music. He played so many familiar songs it made the show so much better. If I had to grade each, Stevie would get a C- and Rod would get and A! The Show started on time which was refreshing...

    Rod Stewart was very good

by Ronduck on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

Stevie Nicks was alright, but she's missing Fleetwood Mac to help her. Although her band was good, something is missing without Lindsey Buckingham playing beside her. Rod Stewart is the performer he has been for the past 40 years. I guess that's how you stay so popular and able to sell out shows after all these years. He's most likely doesn't want to hear it, but he still moves around like a youngster on the stage.. Maybe those your blond wives keep him hopping and active.. All in all, it was a very good show, about 3-1/2 hours long..

Rod Stewart / Stevie Nicks - Heart and Soul Tour

by occaisonalconcertgoer on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

Have been a Stevie Nicks fan for 30 years! I always really enjoy seeing her live, and did so last night. First time seeing Rod Stewart. I imagined he'd put on a great show and he did. I would rather have heard one of her songs as a duet between the two. Maybe Stop Dragging my Heart Around?

Unfortunately we had some really bad seats. We had a sideline view of the stage. The sound was distorted and we couldn't see the video screens that were mounted at the front of the stage. Why wouldn't the Garden use their overhead screens? As a result it was a forgetable experience. Stevie Nicks is done. Rod Stewart can still play!

Rod Stewart / Stevie Nicks ... Nostalgia

    by joejoansuesteveclaire1969 on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

The show was absolutely fantastic. Both performers did sets mostly comprised of the songs that made them the iconic stars they are today and neither has lost a beat from those days. Beyond fans in our late 50's early 60's, both of these performers were in their heyday when we were young and to this day they were both phenomenal!! I would recommend this show to anyone who wants to relive a little portion of those days when things were so much simpler.

Stevie Nicks = the best. Rod Stewart = great

by Brasserie on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

Stevie Nick's voice is as good as ever. Luxurious down low, strong throughout. She writes and sings with soul. Rod Stewart's show is bright, tight, and showcases his career. His set had great backlights, great outfits, great spirit and was a crowd pleaser.

    Hot Legs Still Kickin

by Limelighter on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

Stevie Nicks opening set was ethereal - her haunting voice still resonates. Rod's show was a riotous romp. A true showman, he pranced joyously about the stage. He launched more than a few soccer balls into the audience during "Hot Legs." While Stevie's lead guitarist really tore it up, Rod's back-up singers and instrumentlists (some hot sax) were a true treat.

Stevie Nicks & Rod Stewart ABFAB!

    by scripts33 on 4/1/11Philips Arena - Atlanta

Both shows were amazing. The only issue was that I almost witnessed a WWF Smackdown between 2 drunk women beside me.

Stevie Nicks was boring but Rod Stewart rocks

    by Donna43094 on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

Stevie Nicks was boring. I was a little disappointed that she didn't play my favorite song Leather and Lace. Rod Stewart had a great voice and sang all his hit songs but I feel there should have been more of a show.

    Rod Stewart/StevieNicks

by moea on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

Rod Stewart: The show was unforgettable.Totally amazing! Rod has a cute personality and he brought a lot of talented musicians/artists to the show along with him. His voice is still strong and he had the whole audience singing every single song along with him. I saw Rod Stewart when I was younger and this concert was just as good! I'm glad I went. Stevie Nicks: She was good she still has that natural ballerina flow that she does so well with her arms. The songs she picked were also good. Bolth bands played for an hour and a 1/2 each. The only downfall was when both bands sang - you could not hear their voices really well from my seat. That may be the Gardens fault???

    Rod and Stevie, awesome

by Qsiesuzie on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

Rod is the consummate showman. Not only are most of his songs iconic, but no matter how old, you just know the words. He struts the stage like a proud peacock, and maybe looks a little like one too, with that hair! He still has that same raspy power in his voice. Loved him kicking soccer balls into the audience. Some went as far as the top balcony, he must have played soccer!
