About

Rod Stewart in Concert

With his 1978 No. 1 single, Rod Stewart famously asked the world "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" 100 million record sales later, it's safe to say the world answered "Yes." As one of the top-selling artists of all time, with a career spanning four decades, the British singer-songwriter is one of the most celebrated figures in rock and roll history. The times may have changed, but Stewart's appeal hasn't - with his 28th studio album, 2013's Time, the raspy crooner once again topped the UK Albums Chart - the first time he'd done so since the release of his Greatest Hits Volume 1 in 1979. Stewart got his start as a solo artists in the early '70s, achieving his first mainstream success with blues rock hit "Maggie May" from 1971's Every Picture Tells a Story. In the late '70s and early '80s, the singer would adopt disco and new wave influences to much success, including the 1978 No. 1 Blondes Have More Fun and 1981's Tonight I'm Yours, which featured the hit "Young Turks." On tour, Stewart treats ticket buyers to rollicking sets of his greatest hits, proving that "Rod the Mod" still knows how to give one heck of a live concert.

    Nicks and Stewart were great!

by Scrumpybabe on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

I would see either one of these singers again. They complemented each other nicely although I was disappointed their duet wasn't a different song :(

Didn't disappoint - played all the hits

    by MLB1 on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

First time seeing Rod Stewart, and he lived up to his legend of being a terrific performer. Although I sensed he was a bit tired/sick (judging from all the times he let the audience sing the choruses), he is a crowd pleaser. Terrific, energetc and good-looking band behind him, especially the violinist who couldn't stop smiling,. Stevie Nicks was more subdued but her style is so different from Stewart's that it actually worked. A fun evening.

    Amazing combination of performers

by technodad on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

Yes they both still have it and performed exceptionally well. I have seen Rod before and can clearly say that he still has the spunk to keep the crowd entertained. Stevie was amazing!

    They still ROCK!!!

by headlights on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

Great show both Rod and Stevie still have it! To quote Rod Stewart, " Forever Young!" The back up bands are top rate. . The only criticism is the bands were too loud and made it harder to hear the voices.. Modulate the band down a notch please!

Rod Stewart - still has it all . . .

by StephenfromBoston on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

Overall performances were great. Stewart sang a lot of his songs that made him great. Only negative was that the band overpowered the singer, as usually happens at a concert.

    Sans Stevie

by BurkesTee on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

Although there were Stevie Nicks fans at the concert - I feel the majority of ticket holders would have gladly done without Ms. Nicks. Rod was his typically energetic, young at heart self. The two styles did not mix well, and people around me groaned every time Stevie came back on stage to sing. The numbers they did sing together were horrible and were only bearable because Rod carried them. Ugghh!!! Forget Stevie and use those wonderful back-up singers that Rod had sing one song with him. They were fantastic as were the musicians. I disagree with a previous review that said songs from his "American Songbooks" would bomb. This audience would have swooned and loved any of these or Rod's oldies.

Awesome...They still have what it takes

    by Mickey199 on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

The concert was awesome. Rod Stewart was great and energetic. Stevie Nicks looked and sounded fantastic. Really got the crowd going. The only down fall was when they sang together. We could not hear that good. I was not even sure what the 2 songs were that they sang

    Two Great Shows!!

by SeaJayF on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

Stevie's iconic voice is still amazing! Fleetwood Mac hits came one right after another with her easy swaying dancing. Her new single was a work of art. Rod's repertoire is so huge, and he sang many of the favorites. What a showman too! Great musicians. Sad to not have heard a "Leather and Lace" duet. All in all two great shows.

Musical substance of Rod Stewart beats house seats

    by Muddaof4boys on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

Rod Stewart was great! He was energetic and full of life...a true entertainer. He sang almost every hit/popular song that a long time fan would love to hear at one of his concerts. One almost forgets how timeless his songs are. Although Stevie Nicks sang my favorite songs... I did not feel that she had as much energy as I might have expected. I would have liked it if she sang a few more oldies.

    Rod & Stevie ~ FANTASTIC!!!

    by LARSON8 on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

We had never seen Rod Stewart live before - what a phenomenal performer. He has a very talented band and singers. We're huge fans of Stevie's and have seen her numerous times. She was wonderful, as always! Enjoyed hearing all their old hits as well as Stevie's new song. Their performance together was awesome as well.

    Stevie and Rod were dynamic...

by BJAYBRANDY on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

Both performers showed class and appreciation for the audience. They performed their hearts out and I would see them both again and again and...!!! Also, appropriate for any age, very well done, outstanding show, musicians, and background graphic display!

    Rod was great!

    by flops2 on 4/1/11Philips Arena - Atlanta

Rod's part was great, but Stevie would have been if her band had not drowned her out. Why do the bands have to drown the singers so they can't be heard. That's what you pay to see not the LOUD bands. You would have thought their sound people wouldn't let that happen. Then you have to look at peoples backsides which is RUDE!!! You don't pay these EXTRA high prices just to see drunks and people standing up and BANDS over POWERING the performer. REALLY BAD!!!!

Rod is still the man - Stevie not so much

by WallabyGal on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

Rod clearly was enjoying himself & still every inch the showman. Stevie Nicks, however, mainly twirled around & just seemed low energy. Too bad they didn't duet on "Leather & Lace". Not sure there's a lot of overlap in their fan base; & I read Rod said Stevie gets nerves, but she just didn't have it in Boston. I'd never seen her & was looking forward to it, not again. But Rod - anywhere, anytime, he rocks!

    Rod Stewart Concert in Boston

by NEGDWG on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

Rod Stewart - what a gorgeous guy!! His performance was EXCELLENT. He did all his hits, plus others. The band was excellent. I didn't care much for Stevie Nicks. She was SO hard to hear over the music. She was actually boring and I couldn't wait for her to exit the stage and bring out the real attraction. I've never been a Fleetwood Mac fan because of her.

    AWESOME!!

by Melwayne on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

Other than the suicide seats at the venue (i am terrified of heights and had balcony seats that appeared to go straight down) this show was AMAZING!!! Stevie was fantastic, energetic and soulful...Rod was fun, lively and put on quite the performance! I would recommend seeing them. I am recommending because I could see the stage pretty well - BUT the seats are suicide seats and if you are scared of heights like I am, be prepared to hold onto the handles - yes, handles behind you. Luckily they served beer and I had one to take the edge off, but next time I will pay extra to be closer to the floor because when I first arrived I could not move because I was terrified. If you are not afraid of heights than you will be more than fine!

    Class

by Rickbcnu on 4/1/11TD Garden - Boston

Rod Stewart was great and the stage was very retro and class. All dressed to the 9's and music was spot on. The sound man could have given Rods voice a front and center but choose to use alot of echo and put him behind the music, only complaint !
