Great Event with a Few Kinks to Work Out
by WildcatRocks on 9/19/11Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 4 out of 5Snowboard on the Rocks is a great event, at least in concept. Overall, I had a really nice experience. The films were excellent. The vendor tent village was superb. One of the best I've seen at any event. I walked away with two free t-shirts, lanyards, candy, stickers, and burritos! The event did get really cold and long at the end though.
My recommendation for the planners for next year would be to change the structure a bit. By the time the headliner RJD2 came on it was after midnight, cold, and most of us had been there for at least five and a half hours. I felt badly the ampetheater basically emptied out at the start of this set. Instead of Artist/ Film/ Artist/ Film/ Artist/ Film/ Artist, I would suggest the planners skip the opening act and end with a film. In the end, this event was really about the films, not the musical acts.
