  • Very disappointing

by Mr E on 8/21/25The Rose Music Center at The Heights - Huber HeightsRating: 2 out of 5

I was very excited to attend Ricky's concert, as I used to live in Ricky's home county, Lawrence County, KY. Two friends from Louisa also traveled to attend. All of us were of the same opinion: There was very little energy from Ricky, there were too many slow tempo tunes, and he seemed to neglect the audience in terms of what we were all there to hear. The only song I recognized was "Highway 40 Blues". His backup band were very fine players! It reminded me of the Ricky Nelson "Garden Party"situation, where he was tired of the old, popular tunes, but that was what everyone was there to hear. Conversely, the Oak Ridge Boys came on as energetic and willing to please the audience. Even though I was not interested at the beginning of the ORB set, I was soon won over. Props to the two original members; they sang and had stage presence of singers half their age!

  • Deceived

by Terry on 8/20/25The Rose Music Center at The Heights - Huber HeightsRating: 1 out of 5

Bought tickets to see Ricky Skaggs. Got the tickets only to find he was opening for The Oak Ridge Boys. The only two remaining members of The Oak Ridge Boys are 82 and 85 years of age. I bought the tickets thinking Ricky Skaggs was the headliner and would play for longer than 45 minutes.

  • A fun night of good country music

by Darvis on 8/19/25The Rose Music Center at The Heights - Huber HeightsRating: 5 out of 5

Ricky Skaggs is a force of nature! He had a nice mix of bluegrass, gospel and 90’s hits. His voice and playing are still top notch, and I’ll definitely see him again. The Oak Ridge Boys were really good too. Even though they were missing two members due to one passing away last year and one not touring due to health concerns, the gentlemen filling in for them did an outstanding job. Brought back a lot of good memories

  • Ricky Skaggs and the Kentucky Thunder

by Concert Goer on 8/19/25The Rose Music Center at The Heights - Huber HeightsRating: 5 out of 5

Ricky Skaggs and the Kentucky Thunder put on an awesome show. I was disappointed they were the opening act and not the main act.

  • Ricky doesn't disappoint!

by Bassetmom on 8/19/25The Rose Music Center at The Heights - Huber HeightsRating: 5 out of 5

Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder were amazing. Full of energy, great instrumentals and vocals and an all around great show! Saw his Christmas show a couple of years ago as well! Ricky's voice is still strong and sounds great. Thanks for visiting our area so we could see you once again!

  • Perfect Harmony

by Mark on 8/18/25Rating: 5 out of 5

Nothing can reach the bottom of your heart and send it soaring like perfectly tuned vocals and instruments, and I, for one, am grateful for Ricky Skaggs

  • More songs

by LJ on 7/15/25Capital Region Amphitheater - Jefferson CityRating: 3 out of 5

I wish Mr. Skaggs had spent more time singing and less time tuning his instrument.

  • Great performance, didn’t play a lot of the classics

by Henry on 7/14/25Capital Region Amphitheater - Jefferson CityRating: 4 out of 5

While the show was great, they seemed to play a lot of general bluegrass music and Ricky Skaggs only played 2-3 of his 17 number 1 hits
